Lil Wayne Has Epilepsy, Says He “Could’ve Died”

(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne has confessed to the reason he’s had so many seizures. The rapper says he’s an epileptic.

On Thursday, Wayne conducted an interview with Power 106 in Los Angeles and admitted that he’s suffered with the ailment for years, including a recent scare he says he “could’ve died.”

In the interview, the rappers says that he’s simply overworking himself and exacerbating the condotion, which he’s suffered from for years.

I Am Not a Human Being II was released this week and the New Orleans native will start touring in July with Future and T.I.

The epilepsy revelation refutes the assertion from many that the seizures were brought on by codeine or “sizzurp.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lil Wayne To Be A Father Again?

I have my suspicions on this one. I’m not sure I believe it! Not saying that Wayne is not capable of having more kids, but would he? The latest on the block is that Lil Wayne may have another baby on the way and guess who they are saying the child’s mother may be? BlackMediaScoop.com is reporting definitely that is the R&B singer Nivea. She’s already got a kid by Wayne and a pair from The Dream. Get her an endorsement deal on some pampers! Niv is reportedly going to drop the lil weezy in September. But, damn…I’m not sure I believe it.

That’s Nivea on the right in the green.

Wayne has to know how to strap up!

He had a condom deal, for goodness sake!

XXL Editor Explains Chief Keef & Logic Selections For 2013 Freshman List

(AllHipHop News) One of the most anticipated and debated Hip-Hop magazine covers every year is XXL’s Freshman Class edition. The issue’s purpose is to highlight ten rising rap stars that have created substantial buzz over the previous twelve months.

Like with any subjective list there is the possibility that people will question why a certain artist was selected or omitted, and since it’s inception the Freshman Class cover is no exception.

Last year Azealia Banks was left off the cover and she took issue with fellow femcee Iggy Azalea being chosen saying that Iggy’s “runaway slave master” reference in one of her lyrics should have prevented her from appearing on the magazine.

Underground Kansas rapper XV take shots at the publication for what he felt was a snub from the 2010 issue.

Then there is the fact that Drake and Nicki Minaj, two of the biggest stars in music, were never a part of any XXL Freshman Class.

The controversial choices of this year’s class seem to be the “honorary” selection of Chicago rapper Chief Keef and the selection of relative unknown DMV emcee Logic.

MTV News spoke with XXL’s Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten about those selections.

On Chief Keef as the 11th class member:

We locked Chief Keef down as one of the first Freshmen, and that was back in October. There was no album, there was no jail bid, there was no legal drama. So that happened after we locked him down… We didn’t know exactly how much involvement we would be able to get from Keef once he was out, so we went with ten and in spirit kept Chief as part of the class.

On the fact that Chief Keef already has an album out:

I knew people would get on us if we included him based on the fact that he does have an album already… Sometimes rules are meant to be broken… People can get mad or tight but the circumstances weren’t like he could control what was going on, and we felt it was wrong for him to not be a part of that group.

On Logic:

I think that you guys are going to be surprised by some stuff with Logic. I think from the business deals and situations that he’s got going on that are unannounced… The world was open to Mac Miller, so I don’t understand. They’re not the exact same thing, but they go in a similar lane.

While XXL has made what some have felt were questionable choices for their Freshman Class lists, some notable Hip-Hop performers were also featured on the cover during their rookie seasons.

Lupe Fiasco, Joell Ortiz,  and Crooked I were on the inaugural issue in 2008. Future stars Kid Cudi, B.O.B, and Wale were selected in 2009. In 2010 the standouts were J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, and Big Sean. Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, and B.I.G. Krit made the list in 2011, and last year’s crop included hit makers Macklemore, French Montana, and Future.

Along with Chief Keef and Logic, the rest of the 2013 Freshman Class includes Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, Angel Haze, Dizzy Wright, Joey Bada$$, Kirko Bangz, Schoolboy Q, Travi$ Scott, and Trinidad James.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Guess Who May Be Running Def Jam Next?

You know that dude in the middle?

The name is Steve Rifkind. He’s one of the greats, y’all. He brought us Loud Records and all the groups with it, ranging from Mobb Deep to Akon to Asher Roth to Big Pun to Wu Tang and then some. I mean, classics…and more classics. Shoot, Killarmy!

Well, Def Jams president, Joie IE (Joie Manda) has quit and gone over to Interscope. Guess who I am hearing is on deck to replace him? You guessed it! Steve Rifkind! From what I recall, Riffy has been working on quite a few act at SRC, his new venture. But, I’m hearing he may be lulled over to Def Jam. He really is a pioneer in the game in many ways. You have to google that on your own.

Anyway…that’s the rumor.

Do you think that’s a good idea? Rifkind as president?

Rick Ross “We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that”

(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross has attempted to quell controversy and clarify his position on a recent rap lyric he recited that seems to advocate rape.

The new interview was conducted with Q93.3 in New Orleans and the rapper had nothing but praise for women. He also charged that the lyrics, originating from a Rocko song, may be misunderstood.

Ross explained:

“There are certain things you can’t Tweet and certain things you want people to hear and I want to make sure this is clear..woman is the most precious gift known to man. You understand. There was a misunderstanding with a lyric or a misinterpretation. The term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape in my records. Hip-Hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that. I just want to reach out to all the queens on my timeline, the beautiful ladies that were reaching out to me…we don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.”

The explanation comes on the heels of efforts by Change.org, an activist network, to get the rapper to apologize for the lyrics from “You Don’t Even Know.” Ross raps, “Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”

The full interview is below.

I won’t say how exactly right now, but it definitely is crazy. It looks like an illseed! Now, the validity of this is at lest partially true, because it comes from Kanye West.com.
