This is funny. I never really heard of Hopsin until the other day and now I see him all over the place! I need to step my game up. Now, watch somebody say, “illseed – you need to step your GAME UP!” Idiots. Anyway.
Hopsin seems to be a good dude, but maybe a bit too honest for the rap game. He’s now saying that skaters don’t like Lil Wayne! Well, check out the video and you will see his reasoning. He also has some words about Soulja Boy and Lil B. A rapper taking accountability for things he may have done wrong? Get out! The video is below!
The 2013 NFL Season is just a few days away! I’m extremely excited about it. I’m watching preseason games from start to finish. And ready to lock down my Sundays for the next five months. If you don’t speak the language of the NFL, do not ring my doorbell.
Have you ever watched the pregame and wondered what your favorite NFL player was listening to when they’re entered the arena? Ever wondered what their ultimate song would be as they exited the tunnel to over 80,000 screaming fans? Well, if you answered yes, we have your back.
AllHipHop.com had the opportunity of talking with the “Madbacker” Bart Scott of the New York Jets lockdown defense. The Jets is currently facing a preseason of futility in the touchdown and wins department. But Bart isn’t worried at all. He knows something that Jets fans are dying to be let in on. And he has the theme music to prove it:
AllHipHop.com: Football and music goes hand in hand all the way back to Pop Warner. On High School, College and in the NFL, Rap music is a dominant genre of choice. Being a fan of Rap music now, would you say you love it more, has it remained consistent or less love compared to your high school days?
Bart Scott: I don’t know if my love for Rap is as strong as it was before. As I mellow out more, I find myself listening to music that older people around me listened to. You tend to mellow out a little more when you’re a parent. But I love the older Hip-Hop. It has changed. But as a fan, we tend to love the music linked to the greatest times of our young lives. I remember the Rap music played at the school dances, at Homecoming. I remember when I first went to college and Juvenile hit the scene. I remember at halftime of one of our games, we were told that Tupac passed away. I remember the transition from the Tupac/Biggie Era to when Master P stepped in and took over.
AllHipHop.com: That No Limit Era in Rap music assisted in the South, blowing the doors wide open within the genre. I’m sure if you were listening to Master P, you were also listening to Outkast…
Bart Scott: Yes, Goodie Mob’s “Black Ice”, loved that time in Rap!
AllHipHop.com: You’re taking me back, Bart. Back when mixtapes were actually cassette tapes.
Bart Scott: Good times! I still play a lot of that music today. Some of the younger cats in the locker room can’t identify with it at all. Telling me, “Cut that off, we don’t want to hear that.” I’m like, “C’mon man, listen to this “Tear da Club Up”, this Three 6 Mafia, man! Man, listen to this “Break’em Off Something” and “How You Do That There”. Those songs got me amped up for games. Master P for me, is Lil’ Jon for some of the young guys in the locker room. When I was in college, Master P songs got you jacked up.
AllHipHop.com: What are the young guys playing in the locker room that’s slowly growing on you?
Bart Scott: Anything Rick Ross, he has that inspirational effect to his music. Some of that 2 Chainz stuff, the catchy stuff, I’m not really with that. I don’t like how he put his lyrics together. I still appreciate how Nas puts it together. That ‘Accident Murderers’ Nas and Ricky Rozay, man, amazing. I felt like Rick Ross knew he had to step his game up with Nas, compared to how laid back he normally is. I like to see the new artists challenged by the veterans; you have to come super correct.
AllHipHop.com: Springboarding off the Nas and Rick Ross collaboration, which two artists would you like to see come together for a complete album?
Bart Scott: I don’t know if it would be much of a contrast because they’re both so alike. I would love to see B.o.B. and Andre 3000 come together for a complete album. Or put Andre 3000 and Talib Kweli together. An album of that magnitude must be done for the love.
AllHipHop.com: Picture this, Jets vs. Ravens, AFC Championship Game; you’re waiting in the tunnel for your name to be introduced. Which song would you prefer to hit the field to?
Bart Scott: Man, I think about some of the best years that I’ve had, some of the best seasons that I’ve had and some of the best teams I’ve been on. I think about the music from those times. Songs like “Motivation” by T.I. is still stuck in your head. I think about Eminem (“Lose Yourself”), because early on in my career I was trying to find a way for myself in the league. But let me tell you, one of the hardest verses I heard Diddy spit was on “Victory”. I came out the tunnel to that song last year and the young guys were like, “What song is that?” On the sidelines, people in the crowd were asking me what song it as. That first verse goes so hard. I’d go with that.
AllHipHop.com: Last question. What can New York Jets fans expect from Bart Scott, his defense, and the team as a whole this year?
Bart Scott: Our fans should be excited. We’ve put some pretty interesting defenses on the field. But we have the most potential this year. If we do our jobs and communicate more, we could be the best Jets defense in franchise history. Which is scary because my first year here we were #1, by 30 yards, in almost every statistical category that was meaningful… They should be very excited by their team.
We’re going through a transformational period. We’re younger, more athletic. Our veterans our more mature. Our defense has come together. Our offense is taking a lot of flack for not scoring Touchdowns in the preseason though. With that being said, watching our offense and playing against our offense, I know there are a lot of strategies they’ve yet to pull out. Everything has been kept on the hush. Even with our opener against Buffalo, they don’t have any idea of anything we’re doing because we haven’t shown anyone yet. We can’t wait!

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is probably going through the most trying time of his life. First, he was arrested for domestic violence against his wife, “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozado, then he was cut from the Miami Dolphins and it was aired on ESPN. He also lost two lucrative endorsement deals. Now we hear that Chad may be going to jail for one year for his domestic violence offense against Evelyn.
Unfortunately, this was not Chad’s first time being accused of hitting a woman. In 2000, Chad plead guilty in a California court for slapping his then-girlfriend after they got into a heated argument. He was sentenced to community service, but because of that, Johnson’s current misdemeanor domestic violence charge could be upgraded to a felony. If the prosecution chooses to upgrade the charge, Johnson could be facing a year in the slammer. Do you feel bad for Chad?
Speaking of Evelyn, new bikini pics of her 19-year-old daughter Shaniece have hit the net. Check out the pics below:
Shaniece is rumored to be dating bad mon singer, Sean Kingston. We hear he is tricking on her hard.
Hmm, I guess the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

With the first of its three stops out of the way, Rock The Bells made its way to the Bay Area for the next stop in Mountain View, California this past weekend. Splitting the concerts between two stages (the main stage, and the RZA-endorsed “36 Chambers”), notable performances happened at times simultaneously, but there was more than enough good music to go around. Check the recap:
Pusha T gave a quick, spirited performance, announcing his arrival with his extended verse from Chief Keef and G.O.O.D. Music’s “I Don’t Like”, and spinning into verses from “Grindin'”, and an acapella from his Alley Boy collaboration, “Your Favorite Rapper”. He also performed “Exodus 23:1”, which got a pretty solid rise out of the crowd as they realized the nature of the song.
Naughty By Nature followed, with Vin Rock and the ever-so-charismatic Treach stealing the show with his off-top commentary, high energy, and, at times, silly antics (he stopped the entire show to create an imaginary clock/time-machine to rewind time back to 1991 – the year of their self-titled second album – before dropping another classic). Running through favorites like “O.P.P” (while chucking condoms into the crowd) “Hip Hop Hooray”, and more, they entertained from start to finish.
On the main stage, Tyga ran through several of his club bangers while performing solo, followed by Kendrick Lamar and his TDE brothers Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock. They were all introduced individually, and performed two to three solo songs apiece, but unfortunately they didn’t perform a Black Hippy collaboration (although it seemed like ScHoolboy Q was wanting to, as he was rhyming along to “Say Wassup” as they exited the stage).
Mac Miller was also on hand to run through a few of his songs, such as “Donald Trump” and “Frick Park Market”, and more. Back on the Wu Stage, Salt-N-Pepa was putting it down as if no time has elapsed since their last musical output whatsoever, performing crowd favorite “Push It”, and more.
DMX gave one of the more memorable performances on the 36 Chambers stage, performing regular smashes like “Ruff Ryders Anthem” and acapellas spreading the positive-vibe his concert gave off. Climbing up the speaker system on the side of the stage, he continued to rock, but nothing throughout the entire day got a bigger reaction than “Party Up”, although J. Cole’s set came relatively close.
Speaking of, J. Cole’s performance was one worth paying for solo. One of the bigger stage set-ups (it took about 20-25 minutes to change the set over), Cole came out and performed songs like “Lights Please”, “In the Morning”, and “Work Out”. He also performed verses from “Grew Up Fast” and “The Cure” over different, live instrumentation, to the pleasure of the crowd.
Meanwhile, on the 3 Chambers stage, Ice Cube and WC were ripping the show. Despite several warnings that they were out of time (“Yeah, I don’t give a f**k about that sh*t”, Cube said to W.C. at one point), he brought out his sons OMG and Dough Boy to perform cuts from Cube’s latest LP, I Am The West.
There were a few other acts of note as well, such as Yelawolf, A$AP Rocky (but no 2 Chainz appearance due to circumstances, we wish him the best), Juelz Santana and Dipset, Prodigy, and more, but the main event for the first night for most seemed to be the Method Man and Redman performance. Speeding through exclusives from their Blackout! album (and a few from Blackout! 2), slinging water into the crowd, and even crowd-surfing at one point, the performance was one of the great highlights of the entire festival, and although Kid Cudi was performing on the main stage, it was hard for that to match the energy of the crowd at the 36 Chambers late into the night.
One thing to note: almost every artist gave props to the legends before them, with special attention being shown to Tupac and Easy-E due to the concert location and artist affiliation. Regardless of the reasoning, it was good to see the artists show genuine appreciation. With a busy day in the books, day two on paper looked to be just as incredible.
We’re nowhere near finished our Rock The Bells coverage! Check back for Flicks and more recaps in the coming week.
(AllHipHop News) Legendary Los Angeles-based Hip-Hop producer and “G-Funk Era” artist Warren G spoke with AllHipHop over the weekend about his upcoming music and focus as of late.
Prime cultivator of the West Coast G-Funk sound over the last few decades, Warren G appeared on set and made cameo appearance in Game’s “Celebration” video, featuring Lil’ Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, and Chris Brown.
“I’m here to support the homeboy Game doing his thing and Hip-Hop, period,” Warren G told AllHipHop.com. “I met him before he got signed to Dre; I would see him in the studio a lot. Sh*t, it’s been a while that was way back when me and Dre was doing some stuff, and we worked in the studio one time, and I still got the record and it’s still dope. I haven’t put it out, but I may put it out one day.”
Currently, Warren G has been focused on production and has several records that are getting airplay on radio stations in major markets.
“Right now, I got a record that’s out there bubblin’ real hard right now called “Still In Love”, and it’s a record about how I feel – and I love this music, and that’s what I love doing and that’s what the song is about. I just produced a record by Young Jeezy and Ne-Yo called “Leave Me Alone”, that’s a big record right now, so that’s poppin’ out there and hopefully, we can get a Grammy,” Warren G said.
In addition to his song with Young Jeezy, Warren G has been working on unreleased material from Nate Dogg, and songs with E-40 and Too Short.
“I’m just producing, got some stuff I’m sending to E-40 right now. Me, him, and Short Dogg, we got a song called “Saturday”, featuring Nate Dogg; that sh*t is dope, and I’m just producing, still doing my artist thing on the side,” Warren G explained. “I’m mainly focused on production, but the artist thing is still there, and the fanbase is still there. That’s why I dropped those records.”
Currently, Warren G’s song with Game and the late Nate Dogg, entitled “Party We Will Throw Now”, is getting play throughout the country, and will be featured on Warren G’s upcoming album, Regulate…G Funk Era Pt 2.
Now that fans have waited with baited breath through award show cyphers, mixtapes, and road and TV appearances, Slaughterhouse has finally unveiled its group debut, Welcome To: OUR HOUSE.
This isn’t your typical Slaughterhouse, as the foursome delves into some new territory with an almost-Pop feel in more places than one on Welcome. Their lyricism still shines through, but in rare places that may turn a few new ears on their side. With Eminem at the helm of their efforts, it really shouldn’t take listeners by surprise that the cross-country collective would try and push the envelope on the much-hyped album.
An occasion such as this certainly called for a pre-visit from AllHipHop.com. So a few weeks ago, we were excited to hear more about their mixtape, working with Eminem and DJ Drama, and the makings of their long-awaited debut.
BUT, Slaughterhouse – sans media darling Joe Budden – was in an odd but funny mood for the interview. Joell, Crooked I, and Royce were happy to answer some questions, and then baffled by the reasoning behind others. At any rate, it makes for good TV, so check it out:
Jim Jones is set to star in a leading role and executive produce the soundtrack for the film Vampire Life: The Movie. The Dipset Capo has partnered with CMG Entertainment in a multi-million dollar deal to produce and distribute the film, which will be released in December of this year.
Inspired by Jones’ Vamp Life movement, the film is described to be an action film with a throwback similarity to a time when movies such as 2002’s State Property gained popularity, according to Brandi Hunter of MediaHunter Public Relations.
Shooting for the film will start in mid-September in Miami, New York, Boston, and Baltimore. Cisco Rosado, CEO of CMG Entertainment, will serve as an executive producer along with Jones for the film’s soundtrack.
“Any time you have the opportunity to partner with a established artist and businessman if Jim’s caliber, you are bound to have a successful project,” says Rosado. “We look forward in growing the partnership.”
Shortly before their set at Rock the Bells’ San Francisco Bay area on Sunday night, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony told AllHipHop.com they were appreciative of Game’s new single “Celebration,” which features Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne and samples both Bone’s music and stylings.
“I feel like any song that we do that someone remixes we may have looked at as being disrespectful back when we were young and getting in the game,” Wish Bone said from the tour stop in Mountain View, California. “But us being in the game for 20 years and younger cats coming up behind us doing our style, a style that we invented, that’s kind of a compliment.”
Ironically, when asked whether the longtime rumors that Eazy-E was so impressed with Leimert Park’s Freestyle Fellowship’s style that he signed Bone to essentially copy their recipe and go mainstream, Bizzy Bone was quick to explain that wasn’t the case.
“No BS aside, I’ve heard the same thing, but I think it was the vibe, the Midwest vibe,” Bizzy Bone said. “Twista was around, [the Freestyle Fellowship] was around. Actually Layzie Bone was the first one to come up with it [from our camp]. If you go back to Faces of Death, in ’91-’92, that documents that we were there. Everything is from the heart, everything is original and sometimes when you gather a great idea, a lot of people are a part of it.”
Bizzy Bone further applauded Game, as well. “I kind look at it how like my brothers look at it with the remix that my brother Game and them did,” Bizzy Bone said. “We not bitter at anything, no matter what … thank you for the homage.”
As far as their slot on this year’s Rock the Bells co-headlining the second day of the two-day show with Nas, Flesh N Bone emphasized that the experience was a treat for the fans.
Back by DJ Quik’s band, the veteran group from Cleveland, Ohio, are “representing as general and veterans in the game,” Flesh N Bone said. “We’ve got a lot of history, a lot of expertise when it comes to performing, whether with a DJ or a live band. You can’t download a live performance – you have to experience it.”
Rock the Bells travels to New Jersey this weekend to conclude the third and final installment of the annual summer concert series this year.
A fourth, more scaled-back Rock the Bells, will take place in Miami in December.
It was a match made in Basketball Heaven! But, unfortunately it was not meant to be! It would seen that these two have broken up AGAIN. I admit, I didn’t know they had broken up a first time. Here is the scoop from the good people at BlackSportsOnline:
“The gym doesn’t teach people over the age of 18 for insurance purposes and when Hoopz was told this she lost her mind. She started to curse out the staff and became belligerent. She got extremely loud, screaming at the top of her lungs how she needed to train for the 2016 Olympics. Shaq was embarrassed, he dropped his head like he was ashamed of her. He didn’t say anything while they were in the gym, but once they got to their car a heated argument took place. You could hear and see them screaming at each other. I felt bad for him.”
I think its time for the good ol’ fashioned SHAQ FACE!
I saw in google related search that there is a Lebron Face. Do I need to update?
NAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Shaq Face for life! Pause.
UPDATE: Hoopz kind of, sort of addresses the rumors, but doesn’t say that that they are an actual couple. Note to Hoopz: you ain’t no target.
