Chris Brown and Frank Ocean get into a fight? And “they” are saying that Frankie started it! When I say “they,” I mean they are sources inside of Chris Brown’s camp. The only thing is that freakin’ Chris Brown left the scene of the crime and the cops think HE started the whole thing.
While Breezy was tipping off the press, Frankie was tweeting.
Now, the word is that the cops want Chris to turn himself in so they can further investigate what happened and likely press a charge or two.
Anyway, they are saying this fight is all over a parking space. Chris and Frank had an exchange and CB clocked him. What’s wrong with these gumps?!
BUT, Chris Brown’s crew ran up on Frank Ocean before the singer revealed he was gay. Do you remember that?
YEAAHHHHHHHHH….here is that vid so these dudes have a long-running beef. In 2011, CB’s alleged carload of thugs wanted a solo Frank Ocean to pull over his BMW and “catch a fade.” Frank wasn’t a fool. Seems like cops are now the ones that want Breezy to come in and “catch this charge.”

For over 15 years, Funkmaster Flex’s Hot 97 freestyle segment has and continues to be a hip hop tradition. Sometimes used as a proving ground for new artists or as a platform to air grievance, but usually to just showcase lyrical ability. There have been hours upon hours of freestyles of everyone from a pubescent Juelz Santana to the most successful rapper ever, Eminem.
Here is the shortlist of the five best freestyles on the Funkmaster Flex radio show.
#5 – The Lox (2001)
“Jada come through controlling the Porsche/ Haters shaking like Ali holding the torch. Walk with me, D-Block, you heard Sheek/ Still sold more than P. Diddy my 1st week.” – Jadakiss
The Lox were the new generation of New York hip hop back in 2001 with Jadakiss’ Kiss The Game Goodbye album climbing the charts. While all three delivered murderous quips, it was Jadakiss’ patent gravelly-voiced thick flow that hit the hardest.
#4 – Canibus, DMX & Noreaga (1998)
“Verbally murdering you thoroughly without effort/ I get drug tested before I can rhyme on a record/ Remarkable specimen with an audible weapon/ Processing lyrics in less than 1/100th of a second.” – Canibus
1998 was a year of rap supremacy purgatory. Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac had recently passed and Hip Hop was being ushered into the Shiny Suit era. But it is hard to deny that in 1998, that Noreaga, Canibus and DMX were on the short list of rawest lyricist in hip hop at the time. Here they blend their three styles for one epic freestyle session on Funk Flex’s radio show. Not enough space to fit all the quotables.
#3 – Slaughterhosue (2012)
“You add Eminem our hits are the hardest/ Turn DJs to MMA fighters when they Mix Marshall Artists” – Crooked I
Slaughterhouse is a Voltron-like supergroup formed under a shared appreciation for high level lyricism and they had no shortage of that on Funkmaster Flex’s show in 2012. While promoting Welcome To Our House, their major label debut album on Shady Records, the venomous lyricists exhibited their best promotional tool: BARS!
#2 – G-Unit (2003)
“I heard Irv tried to sign Shyne so I aint got no love for him/ Tell him 50 said he’s soft, he won’t shoot up the club again.” – 50 Cent
No one, in the history of hip hop has ever thrived off of blatantly dissing rappers than 50 Cent and 2003 was his apex. Coming off the meteoric success of Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, Mr. Jackson with Lloyd Banks and Young Buck(Tony Yayo was incarcerated at the time) used Funkmaster Flex’s radio show to flex their muscles(no pun intended) and send warning shots to the industry. 50 was so ferocious that even Funkmaster Flex had to stop the freestyle to play Farrakahn and plead with him to play nice. With Shyne’s recent conversion to Judaism it’s almost safe to say 50’s “he wont shoot up the club again” line has turned from mockery to prophecy.
#1 – Jay-Z (2006)
“Hmm, media meddles, n##### sue you you settle Every step you take they remind you, you ghetto So it’s tough being Bobby Brown To be Bobby then, you gotta be Bobby now”
It’s 2006. Jay-Z is weeks away from releasing his comeback album Kingdom Come and decides to stop by Funkmaster Flex’s show to, essentially, shut down New York City for an hour. Most of these lyrics ended up on subsequent releases (“Corporate Takeover” and “Most Kingz”) but that does not take away from how Young Hova demolishes his Watch The Throne little brother Kanye’s Grammy Family beat. When Hov’s in the zone there are a handful of rappers that can ever match him.
While details are still being confirmed, the two men were involved in some sort of altercation that resulted in Chris Brown allegedly being attacked by a member of Frank Ocean’s entourage.
An associate of Chris Brown’s came to the singer’s defense, but an all out brawl broke out between the two singers.
In that exchange, Chris Brown labeled Frank Ocean a “b**ch” ass n**ga,” while Frank Ocean compared Chris Brown to Ike Turner and R&B singer Sisqo.
After the incident, Ocean tweeted “got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol. i only wish everest [his dog] was there. cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.”
On Friday night (January 25), Memphis rapper Yo Gotti joined Cash Money Records’ CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams to shoot the video for Yo Gotti’s single “Check.”
Mr. Boomtown directed the video for the single, which is featured on Yo Gotti’s mixtape “CM7: The World Is Yours.”

I have no idea, but this is epic! Nas had dinner with Mark Zuckerberg and billionaire investor Ben Horowitz! Wow! What a crazy dinner that may have been. This is great that Nas is really blowing up again with Life Is Good.

Man, Kris Kardashian is a piece of WORK. Kanye and Kim, the parents of Green Ivey (or whatever the baby will be named), is mad that the couple won’t sell pictures of the baby to a tabloid. At least, Yeezy is being a MAN about this and standing his ground. Peep the report:

But it has you thinking, why not cash in on the baby pictures? I mean the Kardashians have always been about money, haven’t they?! Well, it looks like Kanye West is behind the reason Kim isn’t selling the pics. The rapper finds it very tacky to be putting your child’s first baby photos out to the world through a magazine deal and wants Kardashian to just do it through her social-networking site. He makes a good point, seeing that the $100 million worth rapper has enough money to spend on Kim – why in the world would she need a measly $1 million from a magazine?? Makes no sense, right?
Kim’s mom Kris Jenner is said to be totally against the idea of showing the pics to the world without some kind of deal from a mag; Kris is aware that Kim and Kanye could get up to $9 million if they were to go ahead with it, which means Jenner would get $900,000 of the deal as her manager she received 10% of what her daughter makes. IS THIS REALLY ALL ABOUTMONEY, KRIS? Give Kim a break and let her live her life the way she wants to. “Kim isn’t going to sell the pics. She’s not interested in doing that at all,” a source told the New York Daily News. “Kris is the one who wants to make money, but Kanye has changed Kim so much. He’s not interested in doing any of that.”
Kim and Kanye are still receiving dozens of offers for the exclusive baby pictures, but maybe if the right deal comes along, they may change their mind.

A Bergen Country judge ruled that Juelz Santana, born Laron James, cannot have any contact with his former Englewood neighbor as part of the probation, but that Santana can still keep his driver’s license for work purposes.
According to the CliffViewPilot.com, Juelz reportedly made “death threats” to his neighbor which reportedly caused the neighbor to move to another house out of fear.
The neighbor claims the incident has also caused financial issues his wife.
Initially Santana was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, assaulting the neighbor and for violating a restraining order, although in the trail he only entered a guilty plea for threatening his neighbor.
Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Jessica Gompert made several allegations against Santana for the judge to consider in the ruling.
“One is an allegation against his girlfriend, the mother of his children,” Gomperts said. “The second was an innocent bystander who intervened when James assaulted her.”
“That good Samaritan had to pay a steep price,” she told the judge. “He was threatened, he was terrorized – he actually had to move his family.”
“Probation would be a positive factor for the defendant,” Superior Court Judge James Guida said, “and incarceration an excessive hardship.”
The legal issues will unfortunately continue for Juelz going forward as he attempts to fight more charges.
In January of 2011, SWAT discovered two loaded 9mm handguns, ammunition and 17 bags of marijuana during a raid of his “Santana’s World” studios in Bergenfield, NJ.
Juelz would later surrender to police after posting a $125,000 in bail.
The raid was the culmination of a 10 month investigation into gang activity at Santana’s studio.

I was unaware that producer Jim Jonsin had paperwork on rapper B.O.B., but that seems to be the case. It seems that B.O.B. is signed to Jim in some form or fashion – forgive my ignorance – and that’s been a very successful situation for the most part. But, I am hearing that Eminem is looking to get B.O.B. on Team Shady or already has tried. Apparently, sometime in the recent past Em said he would be willing to buy Bob out of his contract for a few milli. But, I am hearing that Jim isn’t with it and may have already turned Em down for the offer. I guess B.O.B. remains to be a hot commodity.
Maybe if this doesn’t work out, he’ll try to put the boy Yelawolf back on the scene!

(AllHipHop News) At one point it was a regular occurrence to see a New York hip hop artist’s name at the top of the album chart, but over the last few years only a small hand full of rappers from the Big Apple have managed to drop an album that reached number 1. Less than a month into 2013 and one NYC newcomer has already met that feat.
According to Soundscan, A$AP Rocky’s debut album, LONG.LIVE.ASAP, sold 138,503 copies in its first week of release. That total was enough for the Harlem emcee to secure his first number one album on the Billboard 200. He also joined Fabolous, Nas, Nicki Minaj, and Jay-Z as only the fifth rapper hailing from New York to reach that accomplishment since 2008.
While New York is regarded as the birthplace of rap music, over the last five years the center of power in mainstream hip hop has shifted below the Mason-Dixon line. Southern rap acts Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., B.O.B, Young Jeezy, J. Cole, and 2 Chainz have been able to push a large enough number of units to see their respective LPs reach number one. Meanwhile the mainstream East Coast rap scene has been held up mostly by two New York legends from the 90’s and a pop-friendly performer who relocated to the south to start her career. A$AP Rocky’s uncommon commercial appeal could be a landmark moment for New York rap.
Boosted by the Hit-Boy produced lead single, “Goldie” and the Top-20 hit “F#####’ Problems” featuring 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, LONG.LIVE.A$AP reached the top spot despite the fact it leaked online a full month before its official release. The album was also a critical success. Metacritic.com gave the album a weighted score of 73 (signifying “generally favorable”) based on 31 professional critics reviews, 22 of which gave the album a “positive review”.
With several other rising New York artists garnering attention from online rap fans and hip hop media, A$AP Rocky’s achievement may not be that much of an rarity in the new future. A$AP Ferg, Azealia Banks, Flatbush Zombies, Joey Bada$$, and Action Bronson (the latter two were guests on LONG.LIVE.A$AP) are just a few of the young New York rappers that are set to drop anticipated studio albums in the coming years.

(AllHipHop News) Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar made his first appearance on Saturday Night Live last night as the special musical guest. K-Dot hit the stage with a live band to perform “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice” during the episode which was hosted by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.
Kendrick’s debut performance on the celebrated program was the final triumph of a very notable week. His single “Swimming Pools (Drank)” earned the TDE rapper the first platinum plaque of his career when the song reached over one million downloads last week. It was also announced on Thursday that the 25-year-old will be one of the performers at The Governors Ball NYC Music Festival in June. He’ll also be hitting the stage with his Black Hippy partners- Jay Rock, ScHoolBoy Q, and Ab-Soul- to headline the 8th annual Paid Dues Festival on March 30 in San Bernardino, California.
Kendrick’s early success in 2013 is an extension of an extremely accomplished 2012. Last October he released his major label debut good kid, M.A.A.D. city to universal acclaim. The album has gone on to sell over 650,000 copies and has been certified gold by the RIAA. Kendrick also spent part of last year appearing on Drake’s Club Paradise Tour and performed sets at several high profile music festivals including Boonaroo, Coachella, and Rock The Bells.
