Bajan beauty Rihanna has released the much anticipated video for her highly popular single “Diamonds” from her soon-to-be-released album, Unapologetic.
The visual finds her revisiting the desert, a landscape she heated up previously on her mega-collabo, “Hard”, featuring Young Jeezy.
Unapologetic is Rihanna’s seventh studio album, set for a November 19 release. (Reportedly, that’s also the title of her next single with Chris Brown. We can’t wait!)
During the long, hard-fought 2012 Election season, Hip-Hop had a soldier named Jasiri X, who was an active participant on the front lines of the battle for the White House.
AllHipHop.com sat down with longtime rapper/activist Jasiri X to capture his final thoughts about the 2012 Election, including a Lupe Fiasco encounter and the crazy, cross-country schedule he maintained. Check out our frank discussion with Jasiri X:
AllHipHop.com: This political season found you all over the place! What were you involved in that had you both speaking and performing in so many cities?
Jasiri X: I was a part of two incredible tours that prominently discussed Hip-Hop and Politics. “Ignite 2012” was sponsored by the League of Young Voters and their executive director, Rob “Biko”Baker. We went to Pittsburgh, Philly, Milwaukee, and Cincinnati with a panel of artists like myself and Dee-1, and prominent bloggers like AllHipHop CEO Chuck Creekmur, The Well Versed founder Andreas Hale, and Bossip senior editor Janee Bolden; plus, author Dream Hampton and Source magazine’s editor in chief, Kim Osorio.
“Rap Sessions” is facilitated by author and founder of the Hip-Hop Political Convention, Bakari Kitwana. We also traveled to various cities and college campus, with discussions featuring Chuck D, David Banner, Rosa Clemente, and Dr. James Peterson.
I also performed at the DNC and went to Tuscan, Arizona with The Sound Strike and Culture Strike to learn about the plight of undocumented families. To raise awareness, we recorded an amazing cypher at the U.S./Mexico border.
AllHipHop.com: Wow, that’s a lot! Do you have any specific memories you care to share?
Jasiri X: We were doing “Rap Sessions” in Philly, and I got a question about Lupe Fiasco and his recent “Twitter Beef” with comedian DL Hughley and pundit Roland Martin. [It was] over Lupe expressing the fact he was not voting in the presidential election. I made it clear that Lupe was talking about not voting in the national election, but he’s been very involved locally in Chicago politics.
The people in the audience were tweeting about our discussion, and Lupe responded, “I’ll be there in five minutes.” He happened to be in Philly that day promoting his new album. Not only did he show up, but he came onstage and eloquently defended his position. The next day, I did a “Stop and Frisk” rally in New York City, and the person who introduced me for my performance was none other than Talib Kweli!
AllHipHop.com: You’ve got to love social media. You never know who is watching! That’s dope! OK, Jasiri, now that the election is over, and the campaigning is all done, what do you think are the most important lessons to take away from this voting season?
Jasiri X: Around $2 billion was spent on this campaign, and we’ve pretty much got the same group of people governing the country, so I think we have to look seriously at the tremendous influence big money has over politics. I also think it’s very clear that the demographics of this country have been changed forever. The question is, can we use this new-found political power to hold our elected officials accountable and see real change in our communities?
AllHipHop.com: Well said. Your music has been known to carry a political message from time to time. Which one song of yours, out of all of them, would you hope that President Obama would have on his iPod to remind of a specific cause or situation?
Jasiri X: Definitely my new song, “Don’t Forget About The ‘Hood”.
AllHipHop.com: Finally, in a single word, can you sum up how you’re feeling about the election coming to a close?
Jasiri X: Accountability.
Keep up with Jasiri X and his year-round fight for the people on his official website, JasiriX.com, on Twitter (@jasiri_x), and on Facebook (JasiriXOfficial).
(AllHipHop News) Houston rap veteran Devin The Dude will entertain audiences around the country, with the upcoming release of the comedic film/DVD “Highway.”

I told you. I’d be scared to death…well…scared to life…of these GDs. The Gangster Disciples are the hardest gang I’ve ever seen on YouTube! Well, they want money from Rick Ross! Before you go any further, catch up on what happened just yesterday.
Hip-Hop Rumors: The Gangster Disciples Crew Wants Rick Ross To “Pay His Dues”
But, in true Rozay form, he addressed it…slick-like.

Yooooooo….then he retweeted religious and inspirational leader Joel Osteen! Ross is a trip! LOL!!!!!! I know some people hate Ross, but this is funny to me.

Now, call it what you want, but it just seems like he may be talking directly to them. I hope Ross knows what he’s doing! Well, he did survive 50 Cent and rampant rumors so I guess he does!
OH YEAH! SUPER KEEF TO THE RESCUE!
How cute was it for the boy Chief Keef to put his GD veil of protection over Meek Mill? That’s really nice of the young boy! Wonder why he didn’t do the same for Ross?

Unless you’re from Philly, you probably only associate the Legendary Roots Crew as Black Thought, Questlove, and some guys that play instruments. However, that is not the case. The Roots crew runs deep – and two of its members could be dubbed as the “most known unknown” duo in all of Hip-Hop.
M.A.R.S Co-op, a.k.a. Black Caesar, and Malik B. – most known for their verses on Illadelph Halflife’s “Clones” by the Roots – checked in with AllHipHop.com to discuss their label, Tali Up Boyz. They also shared some valuable lessons on being a part of the Roots movement, today’s Hip-Hop (like what Malik really thinks of Drake), and surviving in the shadows of greatness.
AllHipHop.com: It’s been a minute since you’ve been on the scene. What’s been up?
M.A.R.S Co-Op: T.U.B., Tali Up Boyz, is the new label with myself and Malik B. We have D.N.A. (Dat N*gga Ant – not to be confused with battle rapper, DNA), Words from King Midas and Friends Vol. 1, and my project, The Power’s in the Tongue. The first single, “Black Ceasar”, is out now.
Lesson #1 – Rapping Reality in an Unreal Industry

M.A.R.S Co-Op: I have a lot more information to give people when I spit; it’s all reality to me. I don’t write about other people’s lives. Either you love it or hate it. We need another lane for this other type of music that we are making.
Malik B: That’s why we got T.U.B. Records. We can say whatever we want.
M.A.R.S Co-Op: I grew up in the streets. I didn’t grow up poor or f*cked up. I ran away from home, got out on the streets, shooting mofos, doing all types of sh*t. Luckily, at some point in my life, I did have a father. The music saved my life.
Lesson #2 – How to Deal with Censorship and Contract Expiration

Malik B: In the beginning, [the censoring] wasn’t like that. The [group’s] manager would normally just approve songs. Now they start checking this and telling us take this out. It takes away from that UMMPH. I mean, it got to the point [where if] we made reference of the devil, all of the sudden we made to look like we worship the devil. Then, Def Jam will say something like, ‘Nah, take that out. People might get offended.’ And I’m like, it’s not even like that. Oh, and for the record, I was never fired from [The Roots]; my contract ran out.

M.A.R.S Co-Op: We brought the streets to The Roots. Early on, they was doing street festivals and stuff, and then me and Malik was doing stuff that our peoples liked. Me and Dice [Raw of The Roots] was from Logan, so our style was different. We was that street stuff. We came up with people like Larry Larr, Mike from Boyz II Men, so we knew what it was when it came to the music.
Lesson #3 – Keeping Philly’s Artistry in a “Clone” Landscape
Malik B: Man, it’s no artistry in the game. Philly is being looked at hard right now ‘cause Meek Mill is killing ‘em. It’s like this once every five years; somebody will come out of Philly blow, and then that’s it.
But, Drake? I think he soft. No, not soft – feminine.
AllHipHop.com: I hear you and Freeway are doing something with “Beard Gang”.
Malik B: Yeah, that’s my man. See, this is the thing. We from Logan, but Free is from down West Philly. So now, we got Jakk Frost, who was doing independent deals since like ’91. Wasn’t nobody doing that. But now I got some stuff coming out with them and Mr. Green. So now, you got Freeway, me, Jakk Frost, Sunwun, and Reef Tha Lost Cause.
AllHipHop.com: I saw the video for that, which was crazy! The patterns and the way it was put together…
Malik B: Yeah. I do that all day. I get the patterns and fill it up with words. I put all my content and fill up patterns with words. All of a sudden, we got a song – Hip-Hop Bee Bop. So, on my joint with Mr. Green, I’m just spitting and then they mixed it in with this dude on guitar. It’s ill. I’m having fun making music again.
Lesson #4 – Taking Stock and Moving Forward
M.A.R.S Co-Op: After getting jerked around in so many directions, we got T.U.B., and we putting out the stuff the streets want. Look for our projects – my single “Black Caesar” is out now. Then we got King Midas and Friends Vol. 1 in like three weeks through our distribution deal with SoulSpazm.

So you know last night Lauryn Hill and Nas rocked out in Philly. Well, I heard Nasty KILLED! You know, Nas has been on a tear recently and everybody is talking about that dude. In fact, I have a previous rumors regarding Nas from a different source.
RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: Nas Has A Bus Load Of Rhyme Books? More!
Anyway, here is my understanding of what happened. Apparently, Nas and Lauryn jointly agreed to sell premium tickets to fans. These tickets allowed fans to get backstage with both super stars, get autographs and pictures…even ask questions. Well, guess what happened? Lauryn pulled out to the chagrin of her fans! I heard many, many people were heated that this opportunity was taken from them after it was offered. Guess L-Boogie didn’t want the harassment of fielding questions. The solution? There really wasn’t one. They simply hacked the premium price in half and just had it with Nas.
I heard Nas was super cool. I heard hew as answering all questions and signing anything anybody wanted. Dude is definitely focused!
Well, at least both of these royal Hip-Hop members are working on new albums! Awesome!

In a new interview with the wild boys over at the “Combat Jack” show, Fabolous speaks about his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his son, Emily B. Emily’s claim to fame is crying on the “Love & Hip-Hop: NY” show over Fabolous’ inability to commit to her.
Well, Fab has stuck the knife deeper into Emily B’s back with this interview, where he flat out says that marriage is not in his future. Check out what he said below:
“I don’t think marriage is in the future for me right now. I just really don’t. And the thing about marriage is that, I believe in it but don’t believe in it. I think sometimes people put on that ring and that paper, and it messes up a good thing sometimes, because now it’s a different emphasis on your relationship because now you can say I’m married, I got this paper — I like to just build on relationships and make sure you’re in a happy relationship.”
Emily B may think about leaving Fab if she ever wants that dream of a white wedding to come true. You can check out Part 1 and 2 of Fab’s interview with the “Combat Jack” show below. Fab also discusses why he thinks he’s still underrated, whether he’s a Knicks or Nets fan, and a bunch of other stuff that may peak your interest. Enjoy!

(AllHipHop News) Kat Stacks continues to fight for her freedom after two years of being detained by officers from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE).
Kat Stacks, born Andrea Herrera, was one of Hip-Hop’s most famous hanger-ons, until she was arrested in November of 2010 on a felony immigration charge.
November 5 marked a total of two years of incarceration for Kat Stacks, who is being held at the immigration detention center in Louisiana.
A new online campaign that has been launched on behalf of Kat Stacks labeled her a victim of sex trafficking as a minor.
The “DREAMer” campaign is attempting to free Kat Stacks, by encouraging fans to call a number, email or send a tweet.
“When she was 19 Andrea was finally able to reunite with her family; to cope with it all she started the persona ‘Kat Stacks,'” a statement read. “Kat used this persona to connect with other victims as well as connecting with artists. These artists have even used Kat Stacks in their lyrics.”
A rep for the campaign claims a judge is using Kat Stacks’ online personality as a catalyst to deport her to her homeland of Venezuela.
Kat Stacks is seeking to get a green card and citizenship under The Dream Act, a new two-year reprieve passed by the government, for illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.
The “DREAMer” campaign asks fans to send the following message on behalf of Kat Stacks:
Call ICE @ 202-732-3000
“Hi, I am calling to urge ICE to release Andrea Herrera (A#077-012-275) from LaSalle Detention Facility. She is a DREAMer, the mother of a 3-year old, and the survivor of sex trafficking as a minor. I don’t understand why she has not been released.”

Is it me, or is Soulja Boy hella desperate for publicity these days? The rapper, who hasn’t had a hit in God knows how long, recently tried to drum up some publicity with his former BFF, Bow Wow…
Related: Hip-Hop Rumors: Are Bow Wow And Soulja Boy Pulling A “106 & Park” Publicity Stunt?
…and now the rapper has “accidentally” posted a photo of his penis on his Tumblr account. This new publicity stunt low has me thinking, should Soulja Boy just quit music all together and move on to a career as a p### star? Many rappers have done it at one time or another, dating all the way back to Big Daddy Kane, and most recently with YMCMB rapper, Tyga.
Related: Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Tyga Starring In A P#### Movie?!
From the looks of the photo, Soulja Boy definitely has the tools to become a star in the field of p###, and he has a lot of experience in front of the camera, so why not? His musical career has taken a nose dive, and although he has millions of fans on Twitter, those numbers just haven’t been translating to record sales for the youngin’. So, maybe a “home movie” – as Kanye West so eloquently calls it – can bring him back to the top. Hey, it worked for Kim Kardashian!
If you’re interested, you can check out the uncensored version of Soulja Boy’s photo here.

After a slew of previews, R&B singer The Weeknd has just released a visual for “The Zone” featuring Drake. The video stems from the album Trilogy, due out November 13.
Megastar Drake makes an appearance in the video. Peep:
It’s always a good time when these two link up. Is this one of your favorite collabos right now?
Lawda Mercy!!! A local news reporter reporting on live TV on election night just could not figure out what rap star was standing right next to him. First, he referred to the rapper as Wyclef, and then someone behind the camera corrected him and told him it was Wale! Unfortunately, that wasn’t right either, and halfway through his report, a producer got it right and relayed the message to his earpiece that the rapper was actually Will.i.Am. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.
Check out the hilarious clip below:
Now, some people are saying that the reporter is racist and thinks that “all Black people look-alike.” I disagree! The reporter is obviously out of touch with popular music and made a simple, but hilarious mistake, and it certainly wasn’t malicious.

With all of the presidential election hoopla, I completely missed this story about Freddie Gibbs getting a police officer in hot water after the officer allowed him to use his squad car in an upcoming music video for Gibbs’ song, “BFK”. The YouTube video posted is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the music video, showing Gibbs rapping in front of the squad car, which is parked at an angle and has its lights flashing.
Three-year Indiana Police Force patrolman Jason Johnson, who also made a cameo in the video in his uniform, was reprimanded and demoted after his superiors caught wind of the video. The story appeared on the cover of the Indiana Post Tribune.
According to the paper, in one shot, Gibbs leans against the front fender, and one of his homies says, “We’re smoking weed with the police outside.” The camera then pans to officer Johnson, who is watching the rapper perform in full uniform. This officer is an idiot for 1) allowing his car to be in a music video with people smoking weed, and 2) for appearing in his uniform. I put all of the blame on the officer, and not Gibbs, in this situation. He’s an officer of the law. He should have known better.
Sidenote: Freddie Gibbs dry-snitched on a TSA agent last year when an agent let his luggage slide by with two bags of marijuana inside it. The agent left a note in his suitcase that read, “Come’on Son”. Gibbs posted the note on Twitter, and the TSA launched an investigation into the matter. Not sure if anyone was fired over his tweet, but most likely, if they found the person, they were canned.
People have no sense when it comes to posting stuff online. You can’t tweet everything, people!
