(AllHipHop News) DJ Hurricane, who was the original DJ for The Beastie Boys has released a statement on the passing of Adam “MCA” Yauch.
MCA died from complications of lymph-node cancer on May 4.
DJ Hurricane reminisced on the good times he shared with MCA, whom he met as a part of Run-DMC’s entourage in 1986, on the “Raising Hell” tour.
DJ Hurricane was selected to be the replacement for Dr. Dre (of Yo MTV Raps!), who was disenfranchised with life on the road.
“As I mourn my friend, Adam Yauch aka MCA, I send my heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughter and loving parents,” DJ Hurricane told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “I think of all of the good times we shared that I will cherish forever.”
DJ Hurricane was afforded the opportunity to travel around the world with The Beastie Boys on their “Licensed To Ill Tour” in 1987, as well as a world tour supporting their album “Ill Communication” in 1994-1995.
He also released his critically acclaimed 1995 album The Hurra on The Beastie Boys’ boys imprint, Grand Royal Records.
“We rocked so many stages together: from Jerusalem to Italy to North America to South America to Japan to Australia and New Zealand; we toured the world several times over and I thank you for taking me on that journey,” DJ Hurricane said.
“I am heartbroken, but will never forget the times we shared, as we grew from being kids to responsible adults. R.I.P. MCA I LOVE YOU……… You will be missed dearly.”
New York State has just passed a law that legalizes the viewing of child pornography online. What the?! So now, Chester the Molester can scroll through hundreds of photos or videos of underage children online, and as long as he or she doesn’t save the image to their hard drive or print it out, it is now perfectly legal.
The new law stems from a case centered around a professor who had viewed “hundreds” of child pornography on his computer. This dirty dog is now getting off scott free because of the new law. This seems so wrong. Check out what MSNBC.com reported on the despicable law below:
“Merely viewing Web images of child pornography does not, absent other proof, constitute either possession or procurement within the meaning of our Penal Law,” Senior Judge Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick wrote for a majority of four of the six judges.
Instead, you actually need to deliberately save child p### to your hard drive or boldly print it out:
“Rather, some affirmative act is required (printing, saving, downloading, etc.) to show that defendant in fact exercised dominion and control over the images that were on his screen,” Ciparick wrote. “To hold otherwise, would extend the reach of (state law) to conduct – viewing – that our Legislature has not deemed criminal.”
A person can view hundreds of these images, or watch hours of real-time videos of children subjected to sexual encounters, and as long as those images are not downloaded, printed, or further distributed, such conduct is not proscribed.
This law is totally disgusting and needs to be appealed ASAP. You can read the full story over at MSNBC.com

Newcomer Azealia Banks knows how to keep herself in the news, doesn’t she? First, she was beefing with T.I. and Iggy Azalea, then earlier this week she was running her mouth about how Lil’ Kim doesn’t write her own rhymes, and now, she’s revealing that she was dissed by Dame Dash and Juelz Santana during an audition for the crew a few years ago. Chek out what she told VIBE Magazine in a recent interview:
“I was prepared to spit for Dame Dash, but he kind of just went ‘Nah!’ and walked away. Womp,” recalls the now-20-year-old, cocoa-toned rascal, choking with laughter. “Juelz looked at me like, ‘Whose little sister is here? Please get her the f*ck out.’”
In related news, Azealia is a graduate from LaGuardia High School in NYC, the same school Nicki Minaj graduated from. Banks’ old drama teacher was also interviewed for the VIBE article, and says Banks stood out to her much more than Nicki Minaj did.
“I don’t remember Nicki having the level of ambition Azealia manifested to me,” says drama teacher Harry Shifman.” He added, “Azealia is a pretty extraordinary talent.”
But what about Azealia’s back talking attitude? Banks told VIBE, “Everyone thinks I’m this arrogant little t###, but I’m actually very levelheaded and real.”
Sorry, Azealia, “we don’t believe you, you need more people.” You can check out VIBE full interview with Azealia Banks here.
Charli Baltimore is back, but don’t call it a “comeback.” She hates that phrase.
The former Murder Inc. rapstress has a lot on her plate these days. From recording new music to starring in a new movie, and even finding time to manage her daughters blossoming modeling career, Charli is determined to showcase all of her talents this time around.
First on her agenda is the recent release of her mixtape, Natural Born Khronicles. The mixtape finds her teaming up with Dutch of Major Figgaz fame, and follows the blueprint from the 1994 movie, Natural Born Killers.
“We modeled it after Natural Born Killers, so even our photography and everything is us posing like Mickey and Mallory. I just felt like it was something different that had never been done before,” said Charli Baltimore during her interview at the AllHipHop offices.
Charli also spoke about the supergroup, “The Commission”, which she was a part of alongside Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, and Busta Rhymes. The group was later extended to include Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kaleb “Un” Rivera, and Lil’ Cease. And, although numerous songs were made, such as “Brooklyn’s Finest”, “I Love the Dough”, “Victory”, “What’s Beef” and “Young G’s”, the group disbanded after Biggie’s March 1997 death.
“Big was setting [The Commission] up. He had a whole vision in mind of what he wanted it to be…it was definitely going down. His next project would have been [The Commission]. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to work together because of his untimely death,” said Charli Baltimore.
When asked if she would be excited to see a Notorious B.I.G. hologram created, Charli, who says she still hasn’t seen the Tupac hologram, said it would be “a little strange.”
“I always try to look at stuff when I think about Big, about how he would feel about that. I’m not really sure of how I feel about it…it’s a little strange for me, a little strange,” said Charli Baltimore.
Check out AllHipHop.com’s full interview with Charli Baltimore below:
Next up is Charli’s upcoming sophomore album, True Lies, which is slated for a July release. The first single, “All Eyes”, features Maino and will be released later this month. You can also catch Charli on the big screen this summer, with a starring role in the upcoming film, Guns and Roses 2. Check out a clip of Charli the actress in action below:
Kanye West is not one to hold his tongue. While driving around NYC the other day, Kanye saw quite a few fashion faux pas that led him to go on another epic Twitter rant. The temperamental rapper sent out a series of tweets dissecting the fashion choices made by everyday NYC men. Check out what Yeezy tweeted below:
”Just driving through the city and I see a few things I hate… I hate button up shirts with hoodies, I hate hoodies with sport coats, I hate sport coats with button up shirts, jeans and dress shoes, I hate khaki trench coats with jeans and off brand work out sneakers, I Hate big *ss striped scarves, I hate long *ss sideburns with the line up RnB beard”
And, according to Kanye, all of this was seen in just “5 blocks” of travel. I guess Kanye really is on his “snob.”
(AllHipHop News) A highly anticipated acting role featuring rapper Eminem has been delayed, so the rapper can work on new music.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Eminem has delayed plans to start filming the movie “Southpaw,” said that he could get into the recording studio.
“He’s focusing on his music right now, so while he’s doing that, while he’s in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being,” said Eminem spokesman Dennis Dennehy.
The rapper was supposed to start as a left-handed boxer in the flick, his only other starring role since 2002’s#### movie “8 Mile.”
“Southpaw,” which had an estimated budget of about $30 million, will still be made, according to Dennehy.
“Southpaw,” which is being directed by Antoine Fuqua and shot mainly in Em’s home state of Michigan, is indefinitely on hold.

For most people, when you mention Ham Squad, you think of B.o.B, not his partner in rhyme, Playboy Tre. If you did, you’d most likely associate his name with the online antics (most notably the Youtube videos) instead of his music. However, you’d be mistaken to simply ignore his skill, or his relevance when it comes to his consistency when delivering feature verses, or in this case, quality mixtapes. Tre’s been a workhorse for quite some time, and although he’s played the background in the past, he’s still quite the monster when it comes to lyrics and concepts; with the recent release of Liquor Store Mascot 2: Patron & Instrumentals, he does that yet again.
As you could assume from the title, most of the songs and lyrics here are liquor-fueled, but it never truly becomes a redundant title due to Tre’s creativity. It doesn’t mean that there aren’t a couple of “party and bullsh**” songs like “5th of Drank” and “We All In“, but the project isn’t limited to those type of songs and that’s what makes this enjoyable. “Shot of Rum” is essentially a posse cut which takes a disrespectfully clever line from P. Dukes‘ first bars (“I got your girl on a shot of rum / she say that’s too strong so she chased it with a shot of c*m”) and features Bobby Creekwater, Jarren Benton, Homebwoi, and Bo Hagon (of BME / Lil’ Jon fame). “Lady Liquor” has Playboy Tre making the comparison of his bottle to a beautiful but conniving female. The self-titled track (“Patron & Instrumentals“) has him just reflecting over different aspects of his life.
All of this is in addition to the other high-quality tracks featured here. “Still Standing” and “Care After Me” all have inspirational themes running through them, and Tre is still as lyrically potent on these songs as he is when rhyming with the intent of dropping memorable lines. The production is also solid throughout, with beats being helmed from a plethora of producers that include The Honorable C-Note, Homebwoi, Young Shawn, DJ Burn One, and more. Overall, there isn’t much to dislike here unless you mistake the liquor-fueled lyrics to be liquor-filled, and surprisingly, that’s not the case here. With solid production, well executed lyrics and concepts, and a few standout features (most notably from Big Rec on “Something To Say” due to his ridiculous flow), Playboy Tre’s Liquor Store Mascot 2: Patron & Instrumentals is definitely worthy of its rating.
(AllHipHop News) Nick Cannon has signed a deal with Lionsgate Entertainment that will have the actor, rapper, and entrepreneur directing his first feature film, “School Dance.”
“School Dance,” which was co-written by Cannon and Nile Evans, is set to begin production this June.

Now this is one crazy rumor! Our source tells us exclusively that Nicki Minaj allegedly has a sex tape that is set to leak any day now, and you will never guess who her co-star is! No, it is not her rumored fiancé, Safaree, or her Young Money boss, Lil’ Wayne.
Our source tells us that the man who is in the alleged sex tape with Nicki Minaj is none other than G.O.O.D. Music rapper, Big Sean! In the words of Big Sean, “Hold up Hold up, whoa there, let’s capture this moment.”
The two allegedly slept together right around the time they shot the music video for Big Sean’s “Dance (A$$)” remix, and the whole thing was caught on tape. Our source tells us that Big Sean has possession of the video, and whether Nicki is aware that the alleged romp in the sack was filmed is unknown.
Last month when Big Sean was on New York City radio show, The Breakfast Club, he was being teased about Nicki grinding on him in the music video, and he replied, “Yeah, she felt my Big Sean!”
Check out Big Sean’s “Dance (A$$)” remix featuring Nicki Minaj below…do you think they took the flirting off the set and into the bedroom?
(AllHipHop News) Former Bad Boy G. Dep was sentenced to 15 years in jail for a 1993 shooting that he confessed to in order to clear his conscience.
He’d later find that the victim of the shooting died after confessing to police in Harlem in 2010.
Tuesday a judge sentenced him to the minimum jail time for murder, an apparent act of leniency for confessing to a crime in which he was not even a suspect.
Anthony L. Ricco, G. Dep’s lawyer said the rapper received the closure he sought.
“He was in search of his redemption and his honor, and some might say that he achieved that,” Ricco said, according to the Associated Press.
G. Dep rapped alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s and had a hit in “Special Delivery” and “Let’s Get It.”
G. Dep has plans to appeal the verdict.
Well. Looks like we can chalk up another big loss for Charles Hamilton. He says he was beat down last week by some “flamin’ f@ggots” and admits to being “biblically homophobic.” Peep the unedited story here……
Got jumped by some flamin’ f###### near Webster Hall Thursday night. Mad at me because I’m, quite Biblically, homophobic. Despite the MAGICAL night I had with …Dilla, George and Jack, I still had to scrap it out. First of all, one of these homos was starting a fight with a woman. He spit in her face and flexed at her like he was going to backhand her. So I intervened. You don’t hit a woman. Period. And he SPIT on her. So I walked over and checked him. “Homie, why you spit on her, b?” He was like “That’s my b####, yo! I can do what I want to her, bro!”
F### outta here. Called him p#### and walked off. He calls his peoples from out the restaurant. Another h### who I had to check about 10 minutes before walked up to me like he was they leader, so I swung on him first. He was dundone. Then the other’s grabbed me, punched me, and ironically, kicked the areas in my back which were hurting me for ages. S### felt crazy good. Oh man. S### felt sooooo mean. N##### was really kicking my knots, yo. Anyway, I got up, cracked all them n#####, they ran (yo, I made n##### run?!), and I got walked to the hospital. I miss my n#### Bred (George), Dilla wylded (Mav?) and Jack is Jack (CYANIDE!!!!!, for those long term readers). Cyanide, the beef is very simple. My exhales were your inhales. And that s### BOTHERED me.
Click here for the rest of this story!
In the meantime, he may want to reconsider his homophobic actions. He cannot back it up. Pause!
(AllHipHop News) Yonkers bred rapper Jadakiss, one-third of the veteran New York trio, The Lox, recently sat down with AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview.
While the interview touched on a number of issues, Jadakiss took the time to explain some advice he gave to Mase, about making his comeback to rap.
The Harlem rapper, who reached his peak with P Diddy and Bad Boy in the 1990’s, announced his return to rap last month.
“My only thing with Mase – I call him ‘Murder’ – is, if you gonna come back, come all the way back,” Jadakiss told AllHipHop.com. “You keep head faking the people, and you don’t get that many chances, so if you gonna come back make a full-fledged comeback or do what you gonna do. He’s my brother from another forever, so I tell him if you calling me about music, you gotta be dead serious or I really ain’t listening.”
Many Hip-Hop heads took notice of Mase’s comback on the Wale and Big Sean’s “Slight Work,” remix, including Jada.
“I seen him on that ‘Slight Work (Remix)’ so hopefully he can comeback,” Jadkiss told AllHipHop.com. “He’s fortunate to get a lot of chances.”
Jadakiss has been busy as of late himself, as he recently released his mixtape titled, Consignment last week, to critical acclaim.
The rapper has also been pushing his “So Raspy” brand of viral videos , marketing his mixtape and life through a series of vlog posts.
If Birdman has his way, Chicago MC Chief Keef will soon be a member of the Cash Money roster. For those who don’t know, Chief Keef is a 16-year-old rapper from Chicago who was thrust into the spotlight when Kanye West remixed his street single, “I Don’t Like”.
You can listen to the song below:
Birdman was recently interviewed by MTV and said that he would “do whatever it takes” to sign the young spitter.
“I like him, he kinda reminds me of us,” Birdman is quoted as saying about Keef. “[He’s] out the streets, I think he’s swagged up, and I’m definitely talking to his people, and I’d like to see if we can make it pop, see if I can see if I can get him to be down with the team.”
Keef himself also tweeted last month, “Birdman Just Called He Say He Wanna Sign Me Wit #CMB.”
Do you think Chief Keef will make a good addition to the squad?
