IRS Seeks To Garnish Nas’ Publishing Income

(AllHipHop News) Nas’ financial battle with the Internal Revenue Service continues, over a $6 million delinquent tax bill.

According to TMZ.com, the IRS recently filed court documents seeking to garnish Nas’ earnings from his publishing companies.

The government is garnishing wages Nas earns through ASCAP and BMI, the two largest performing right Society organizations in the United States.

The performing rights organizations collect and track Nas’ music earnings from radio, television and other sources.

In February, the IRS put a lien on property Nas owns in Eagles Landing, Georgia, as well as a $339,000 tax bill for income earned in 2010.

Nas is reportedly preparing to release a new album tentatively titled Life Is Good.

Curren$y Suing Dame Dash For $1.5 Million; Claims Dash Released Music Without Consent

(AllHipHop News) TMZ is reporting that Jet Life Recordings founder Curren$y is suing Dame Dash, co-founder of both Roc-A-Fella and DD172.

Curren$y, whose real name is Shante Scott Franklin, is suing Dash for $1.5 million for releasing his music without  permission or compensation. TMZ states that both Dash and Franklin began negotiating an agreement to release music together back in 2010; while the deal never materialized, music was still released.

The lawsuit states that two of Curren$y’s albums in 2010, Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II, were released by Dash despite the New Orleans MC striking a deal with Warner Bros. who had exclusive rights to his music.

At press time, Dash has responded by claiming that he had the right to release “the albums in question because he was given permission.” Dash states that Curren$y stabbed him in the back by “reneging on their agreement and signing instead with Warner Bros.”

A judge has yet to rule in favor of either side. More details will be released soon.

Necro Denies Lyrical Connection To 8-Year-Old’s Murder in Canada

(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn, New York gore and metal rap emcee Necro is sticking up for himself, after his lyrics were recently used as evidence in a murder trial taking place in Canada.

The trial centers around the murder of an 8-year-old girl named Victoria “Tori” Stafford, who was killed in Canada in 2009.

Necro issued a statement to defend himself, after discovering reports of the evidence used in the trial according to reports across the net.

“I see I am being mentioned in this Big Canada murder case. I wasn’t gonna say anything but it seems a lot of fans want me to address this. I do not support the killing of kids,” Necro said in a statement. “I love children and feel they should be protected and loved and cared for, especially when they are your family…”

When the prosecutors discovered that Terri-Lynne McClintic, girlfriend and alleged accomplice of co-defendant Michael Thomas Rafferty, was a fan of Necro, lawyers sought to prove that Necro’s music was the cause of the violent behavior exhibited by the defendants.

According to reports, Tori vanished after walking away from school in Woodstock, Ontario, on April 8, 2009.

The third grader’s remains were then found three months later, in a rural area near Mount Forest, Ontario.

“I’m against anything that brings harm to children,” Necro continued. “A lot of us grew up fu**ed up because we weren’t loved as kids or got fu**ed over. As for this case, every few years some lawyer or court or newspaper tries to blame some rapper or metal group but that’s bulls**t. Whether Ozzy or Judas Priest, or ICP, or now Necro. We all have 100,000 to a million fans+ and none of them do this s**t.”

Necro told his fans that the lawyers in the case were targeting him, while ignoring the large corporations and movies that visually show violence and murders.

Necro also went on to add that he blames parenting and schools for violence amongst the youth in the world. “I am not responsible for the bad parents and sh**ty school systems and governments of the world. Teach your kids and show them love. If anything I’m more in touch with your kids than the parents or schools are in a positive way because I talk to them, I respond and you see me making positive moves in life revolving around art, whether or not the art is violent or not is not the point, its art!”

AHH Stray News: Drake Extends “Club Paradise Tour”; Bangladesh Signs To YMCMB; Curren$y Announces New EP

(AllHipHop News) After wrapping up the first leg of his well-received “Club Paradise Tour” with Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Chase N. Cashe, Drake has announced 27 dates for the second U.S. leg of the tour, to kick off after his European dates are completed. Drake has enlisted J. Cole, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, French Montana, and Waka Flocka as openers for the tour that will kick off in Concord, California, on May 7 and wrap up in Boston on June 17. Information on dates, cities, and tickets can be found at LiveNation.com.

Grammy Award-winning producer Bangladesh is the latest act to sign, in some fashion, with the YMCMB label after signees Limp Bizkit, Ashanti, Christina Milian, and Mystikal were recently announced. Bangladesh made his name with YMCMB after producing the hit “A Millie” from Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III. He later claimed that he was never compensated for his work on the record and yet, he produced Wayne’s first single from Tha Carter IV, “6 Foot 7 Foot.” It seems that the two camps have resolved their conflicts, as Bangladesh recently announced to MTV News that he was signing a “song deal” with the  label.

“We just did some nice business together. They just bought a whole bunch of tracks, that’s about it,” said Bangladesh. “They gave me a song deal, basically, first song deal I ever had, so shouts out to Cash Money.”

While he puts the finishing touches on his next LP, The Stoned Immaculate, New Orleans native and Jet Life Recordings founder Curren$y has announced plans via Twitter to release a 5-track EP with producer Harry Fraud titled Cigarette Boats. Harry Fraud is the sought-after producer behind recent tracks from Action Bronson, French Montana, Smoke DZA, and more. The news comes less than a month after Curren$y released The 1st 28 EP with Styles P. No release date for Cigarette Boats has been announced.
