Just this week Gangsta Boo made headlines across the internet when she apparently proclaimed that she wasn’t a fan of Kreayshawn, the popular White female rapper from Oakland. Well, AllHipHop immediately linked with with Memphis-bred Boo in an effort to get to the bottom of the matter and to see if she’d like to put those “shots” back in the gun. Come to find out, there weren’t really any rounds fired after all. See the video of Gangsta Boo, as she explains where she truly stands with her counterpart. Maybe…just maybe…the pair will sit down and smoke one over the misunderstanding.
Mecca’s, a Hip-Hop aficionado that rhymes and works in the game, has concocted a “Hip Hop Lineage Tree” that says that all rap styles in the current era can be traced back to six influential MC’s. These artists are the legend L.L.Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, K.R.S One, Slick Rick and Kool G Rap. Here is the discussion from various bloggers and insiders. Watch and weigh in!
DRAKE’S EX…WELL…JUST LOOK AT HER!
Drake’s ex is on a TV show and she came up thanks to her affiliation with Drizzy. Here is the interview she did with Philly’s 107.9. This interview, she tells a lil too much about Drake than we really care to know.
On how she met Drake
We met on the set of “Best I Ever Had.” It was real cool! We sat on the bleachers on set directed by Kanye [West]. Having fun, tweeted each other back and forth–real cool. Never thought it would go anywhere just cool, kicking it. The next thing you know I’m in Toronto and we’re having dinner.
He flew me out to Toronto and we started kicking it and liking each other. One flight turned into ten then the next thing you know I got a toothbrush in there and it’s on.
How long did it take for you to get from just dating to a relationship?
Like a month. It was like 0 to 60.
You moved to Toronto?
Yeah, I was actually there and packed up and was like “I’m out….I’m in love.”
Did you meet his mom?
Yeah, she’s a very nice lady.
Did she know you like, “Oh, what’s your name again?” or she KNEW you?
Well, at first it was like that but then it was like, “Oh this hoe is still around, huh? Oh, she’s still here.” After a while it was like, “Hey, Mom!” I’m from Philly and I’m in Toronto now…that’s my boo.
How long did it take you to go from condom to no condom?
That’s assuming there was ever one involved.
On if she was in love with Drake
Of course, it was an awesome relationship. I was in love, he was in love and by the way in the song he said he was in love, so don’t try to switch it up now. I never mentioned you, you mentioned me. It was good. I’m talking family dinners and we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around. It was a regular relationship. I was in love and he was in love but at the end of the day he started getting a little bit too loose. Meaning he pops up in the tabloids with Maliah, trips to Jamaica that I wasn’t invited to or never heard about. I’m from Philly and we don’t go for that.
It’s a problem [when] you had the kind of relationship we had. That was my dude; it wasn’t somebody I was just kicking it with. If you were just kicking it, you can do what you wanna do but I was yours and you were mine.
On if He gave her gifts
He’s a very kind-hearted individual. We traveled a lot and we shopped so of course the price tag got a little expensive. A Car, bills paid..but we were together so it wasn’t like he was tricking.
On if he’s well endowed
He is a phenomenal “peach eater” and he is black and Jewish and the black side is Mandingo.
On why they broke up
Well, we broke up because I wanted to do the Bad Girls Club 2 and that was a whole big issue too. I was like, “I have my own career and I need to move forward to and he was kind of like “I really don’t want you to go on there and embarrass me.” I was like, “Well, you know my career is my career. You know you’re Drake and you’re cool but I need to be cool too. I can’t sit around and try to get pregnant by you and be a baby mama. I need to make a career for myself.”
After they split, Drake wrote a verse about her on the Game’s track ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’.
This song reminds me of Cat from Philly
a girl I use to love till she started acting silly
Her heart is a lil chilly she a lil too carefree
in 10 years whose payin for all that therapy …..n*gga not me.
Im probably not the man you take me for
but I bet I could be if you make me yours
Most of the sh*t I say is true
when Im done with Bad Girls
i’m comin straight for you good girl

JIM JONES ADDRESSES BEAT DOWN RUMORS
There seems to be more information on the Jim Jones fiasco with his ex-manager Yandy. It seems that the rumors of a violent confrontation between them was intertwined with an actual incident that happened. Jim recently told Miss Info that he was in Harlem and somebody tried – and failed – to rob him. He said he was alone, in fact. He says he beat up the first dude, but a second man jumped out and busted him with a damn metal pole! Jim said he was so “amped up” that he didn’t realize that he was being beat down. But, he admits, there was a third dude with a gun and he ran away. He admitted that he was slipping and that he shouldn’t have been out there solo with all his chains one. As far as Yandy and a possible connection, he said it wasn’t work connecting.

For those that don’t know or are based outside of the New York area, the annual CMJ Music Marathon and Film festival invaded the city. With over 10,000 acts performing multiple shows over the course of four days, CMJ always guarantees a lot to take in. After 20 years, the festival has taken on an entirely new life of its own, and is now looked at as the perfect launching pad for both new and upcoming artists looking to break into the industry in a major way.
All music genres are represented at CMJ, and a number of the events mix up the types of artists and genres so that more of the general audience, potential fans, and music buyers, can get a taste of all of the different musical flavors. Since its inception, CMJ has had artists like Eminem, Q-Tip, Yelawolf, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chuck D, KRS-One, Run-DMC, and more take on different roles as performers and speakers throughout the festival’s four-day run.
At one of many CMJ showcases taking place at S.O.B.’s, a number of up-and-coming artists rocked short sets for a full house. The night was dubbed “The Collab,” and was being promoted through the Leaders of the New Cool and Hustlepalooza. Artists like Get Busy Committee, Nakim, Sir Michael Rocks, Iggy Azalea, Kris Kasanova, Mr. MF eXquire, Tuki Carter, Troy Ave., Skeme, and Action Bronson were all on the bill and all equally did their thing on stage. The power-packed night closed with a surprise performance from Mos Def, who was playing spectator in a more private section of the venue for a majority of the night.
Among the topics discussed with most of the artists was the importance of CMJ for launching new artists’ careers, what everyone is working on music-wise, and some general thoughts about their peers and the music industry. Check out what the artists AllHipHop.com got to speak had to say that night:
Nakim
The Harlem native whose recent ode to Young Jeezy, “We Need Jeezy,” has been making quite the impact online, spoke on CMJ’s incorporation in other cities and what it means to him to be performing there. He also schooled those that don’t know Nakim on what they need to know about him.
Get Busy Committee
The Hip-Hop group consisting of rappers Ryu and Apathy and producer Scoop Deville has been making a considerable amount of noise over the past two years. While all members of the group rap on their tracks, Scoop, who has produced for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Murs, Game, and Fat Joe, handles all production duties. They recently released their new mixtape, Opening Ceremony, to help promote the new album of the same name dropping in early 2012. See what else they had to say below:
Tuki Carter
Not only is Tuki Carter a top-notch lyricist and performer, he is also one of the most renowned tattoo artists in Hip-Hop. Over the years, Tuki has inked up Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose, and more. Among the many projects he’s a part of, his new mixtape, Atlantafornication, is set to drop sometime before the end of the year.
Skeme
The Inglewood, Californnia rapper, whose biggest inspiration is music itself, stopped to talk about his relationship with the other artists performing that night, the differences between New York and California, and what fans can expect from him going forward. His mixtape, The Statement, is available now for download, and the follow-up, The Statement 2, is currently in the works.
T. Mills
Showing up for a surprise appearance during his boy Skeme’s set, Columbia Records’ Hip-Pop artist T. Mills spent a few minutes with AllHipHop.com talking about how the type of music he makes fits into the bigger Hip-Hop landscape, and more.
Troy Ave
“Mr. Harry Powder” has had no problem making a name for himself as of late. The Brooklyn bred rapper is a high energy and gritty lyricist with his eyes set on the prize. His “real talk” approach to his music has helped Troy become a new staple in the re-emergence of New York Rap. Check out the video below for an interesting story about that night’s performance, his relationship with Mobb Deep member Prodigy, as well as details on what fans can expect next from his music and beyond.
Action Bronson
Always one to give some of the most humorous interviews, on this night, Action Bronson didn’t disappoint. The showcase headliner spoke on not really knowing what CMJ was, but said he was glad to perform at so many different shows. His Well Done album with Statik Selektah is being released on November 22, and he’s also hooked up with Asher Roth recently. Find out more below:
Despite hour-long lines and wall-to-wall crowds, the CMJ experience is worth the yearlong wait between festivals. A number of companies, firms, and sponsors threw their own events, such as Converse’s “True Till Def,” which featured Action Bronson, AraabMUZIK, Mr. MF eXquire, and a number of thrash metal bands. There was also the “Duck Down vs. BlackSmith” showcase that featured acts from both rosters like Talib Kweli, Kidz In the Hall, Smif-N-Wessun, Buckshot, Statik Selektah, and many more. CMJ seems to be endless, and finding “the place to be” on a particular night can turn into a small problem. But, the fact of the matter is that during CMJ, everywhere is the place to be.

GANGSTA BOO DISSES KREAYSHAWN

Gangsta Boo went in on Kreayshawn to XXLMag.com!
“I don’t listen to Kreayshawn. I’m really not feeling her. I think she’s a w#####. I think she looks like she came out the movie BAPS. You familiar with that movie? Like the whole ghetto girl thing, I don’t know if that’s how white girls do it in Oakland. I got to meet her personally to feel her out. To understand like, ‘OK, like this is really this girl, like she ain’t a w#####, she just her. She likes ghetto looks, she’s not trying to be a black girl. That’s just her.’ So until I meet her I have a little bitter taste in my mouth to her. […] To me its an act and it’s a gimmick but its not a funny one.”
GET BETTER PATRICE O’NEAL!
