Busta Rhymes Working On “Extinction Level Event 2”

The trend of album sequel continues with Busta Rhymes as the New York staple plans another chapter from from his 1998 opus E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front.

Busta’s manger Chris Lighty sent out the message via Twitter. Lighty simply said, “Extinction.Level.Event 2 ……prepare yourself.”

The message was subsequently retweeted by Busta Rhymes. Like the first E.L.E. 2 is inspired by movies of pending destruction and doom on planet Earth, Lighty said.”From the Intro of the new Busta Album your going

speed,” he said.

E.L.E. yielded a number of popular songs including “Tear da Roof Off,” “Do It to Death” and “What’s It Gonna Be,” a hit song that featured Janet Jackson.

E.L.E. also had an impressive line of producers like Busta Rhymes Nottz, DJ Scratch, Swizz Beatz, Rockwilder, Diamond D, D-Dot, Nasheim Myrick and others.

Extinction Level Event does not have a release date, but he was slated to release The Chemo, his ninth solo album, this summer.Other artists that rose to prominence in the 90’s have begun creating sequels to their most popular albums. Capone-n-Noreaga and GZA have sequel albums in the making.

Busta Rhymes recently released “Stop The Party,” an unofficial theme song for “Iron Man 2 that features Swizz Beatz.” Listen below.

And, just like the real Lord Jesus Christ, he forgave Brit for hitting him with her vehicle. Christ was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Brit got a ticket.

Allen Iverson Enters Rap Game With Ty Gracie

Many years ago, Allen Iverson attempted to enter the music game as a rapper, but now the basketball legend has signed a new artist he hopes will allow him re-entry into the industry.

Ty Gracie, Iverson’s artist on, has been releasing mixtapes for years, but is now formalizing his career with the basketball star.

Gracie’s experience is similar to the conditions seen in The Allen Iverson documentary entitled, “No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson,” and both men are from Virginia.

“People from Bad Newz (Newport News, Virginia) have a different story to tell,” he said.

Gracie has worked with Young Jeezy, Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, Nicole Ray, Jadakiss, 50 Cent and others, according to a press release.

Williams-Cintron Battle on HBO

Tomorrow night (May 8), avoided contender Paul “The Punisher” Williams (38-1, 27 KOs) faces dangerous power-puncher Kermit “The Killer” Cintron (32-2-1, 28 KOs). The bout, which will be contested at junior-middleweight (154 pounds), will establish the premier fighter at the weight, and also the next logical opponent for newly crowned middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.

Both men have had faced tough competition over the past year. Last April, Williams soundly defeated former pound for pound fighter Winky Wright. In December, he engaged in an epic Fight of Year battle with Sergio Martinez, pulling himself up from a knockdown in the 1st to escape with a narrow, highly controversial decision. Cintron faced Martinez last February, and was awarded a dubious draw due to the referee miscalling a Martinez knockout punch as a headbutt. 3 months later, Cintron redeemed himself by clearly outboxing HBO favorite and prospect Alfredo Angulo.

Paul Williams is the favorite in this bout and rightly so. The Punisher avenged his only loss to Carlos Quintana with an impressive 1st round TKO. Standing at 6’1 and with a heavyweight reach of 82 inches, he throws hundreds of punches per round, even more so than Antonio Margarito, who overwhelmed Cintron twice in the only 2 defeats of Kermit’s career.

However, Cintron is a very live underdog for several reasons. The Puerto Rican fighter is very heavy-handed, particularly with the right hand when he sits down on his punches. Also, Williams’s defense is his offense, meaning the Punisher is not hard to find with shots as his high punch output leaves openings.

In particular, Williams gets hit more than he should because he like to compromise his height by leaning forward, especially when digging punches to the body. And Cintron possesses a good uppercut, best seen in his highlight reel KO of Walter Massthysse.

“One of my biggest punches is my uppercut…So that’s where I get more interested to see if he can take my power,” Cintron told maxboxing.com. “We’ll be throwing that [punch] as well.”

 

Since he began facing elite competition in 2007, Paul Williams has taken numerous flush power punches to the face, and some have resulted in deep cuts and stunned him badly (see Margarito, Quintana I, and Phillips bouts). However, Williams has weathered each storm and never stopped throwing punches.

Cintron, following his 2 knockout losses to Antonio Margarito, had been branded as a fighter that doesn’t cope well with aggressive volume punchers who can take his shots. However, it should be noted that Cintron weathered similar storms later from tough but limited contenders in David Estrada and Jessie Feliciano.

Also, when it appeared he would wilt from the pressure of a then undefeated Alfredo Angulo, Cintron composed himself and outboxed Angulo and kept the aggressive Mexican slugger honest with his power.

 

 

Prediction: Paul Williams TKO9

Kermit Cintron is a lot better than he is given credit for. Paul Williams will have a tough fight on his hands early on, and expect the Punisher to again have that chin tested with some nasty right hands and uppercuts up close.

But in the end, I see Cintron not being able to weather Paul’s non-stop punching. At times Cintron was gassed against Angulo, but the latter didn’t have the footwork and experience to know how to close the distance. Williams does, and Cintron will have constant pressure on him. And unlike Sergio Martinez, he doesn’t have the speed or southpaw stance that so often troubles Paul.

 

 

Antonio Margarito PPV, Arum Eyes Showdown with Pacquiao

Disgraced former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito takes his first step towards redemption with a Latin Fury PPV against Roberto Garcia (28-2, 21 KOs) in Mexico.

Margarito was unable to get his license renewed in California, where last year he was handed a minimum 1 year suspension for trying to wear illegal, plaster-like hand wrappings into his January 2009 fight with Shane Mosley.

Margarito suffered a sustained beating in that fight, losing every round and getting knocked out in the 9th.

But his promoter, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, is banking on a good showing from Margarito this weekend to ensure he can make an in-house fight with Manny Pacquiao instead on working with Floyd Mayweather and rival Golden Boy.

Currently, Manny Pacquiao is focused on his political aspirations in his native Phillipines, and according to Arum is not bending on the Olympic style drug testing that sunk the potential megafight with Mayweather back in March.

Margarito’s return on Latin Fury 14 is will be available tomorrow night (May 8)  

 

Marquez-Diaz II Set for July 31

Last weekend preceding Mayweather-Mosley, Juan Diaz (35-3, 17 KOs) and Juan Manuel Marquez (50-5-1, 37 KOs) held a press conference to announce the rematch to their consensus 2009 Fight of Year.

Juan Diaz was bullying the naturally smaller Marquez around the ring in the early rounds. But Marquez, a technical marvel, made the adjustments and gradually broke Diaz down behind precise combination counters, scoring 2 knockdowns in round 9 for a TKO.

Diaz, who was a top 10 Pound for Pound fighter before going 2-3 since 2008, promises now that he has a renewed focus, prompted by his studying for the LSAT (which he takes in June). He promises to pick where he left off at in the 9th round of the last fight, which may or may not be good depending on how you viewed that round before the knockout.

Mayweather-Mosley PPV Figures, What’s Next for Both Men?

Earlier this week, Yahoo Sports writer Kevin Iole stated that his sources had Mayweather-Mosley posting PPV buys of 1.2 million.

Later in the week other conflicting information began coming out, stating the true figures would be at least 1.5 million or higher.

Any fight selling over a million is definitely a huge success. However, with Golden Boy estimating figures as high as 3 million, it’s easy to see why some would consider this a disappointment.

Mayweather options are limited, but all lucrative. After posting a million PPV buys with Juan Manuel Marquez, Floyd has the ability to generate high figures with anyone. If the Pacquiao fight cannot be made, Mayweather could possibly face Andre Berto, the Williams-Cintron winner, or he can move up and attempt to win the middleweight title against Sergio Martinez. The latter seemed to interest Mayweather a lot, and in the post-fight press conference he admitted that it could be a very valid fight.

For Shane Mosley, the future is a bit more muddled. It was no secret that at 38 years old, the Mayweather fight was do or die. A bad loss would eliminate him from any further big PPV bouts.

Losing 10, arguably 11 rounds was indeed a bad loss.

If Mosley decides to continue, his remaining fights likely would have to be at 154. Shane campaigned there several years ago and won a title, so it’s possible he can still compete there. Still, he would be facing young, hungry fighters like Paul Williams and Alfredo Angulo, and it may be too much to ask of Mosley at this point.

Personally, I’d like to see Shane Mosley have one more “farewell” type fight and hang up the gloves. He’s given the sport great fights and has nothing left to prove.

Mike Tyson Appears on The View

Today, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson made an appearance on The View. Tyson is promoting a new TV show he has on Animal Planet, and also discussed his previous marriage with Robin Givens and his well documented financial troubles.

Reportedly, Robin Givens was furious that Tyson was invited and tried to get the show’s producers to not ask any questions involving her.

Over the past year, Givens has spoken at length about her relationship with Tyson, appearing on numerous talk shows after Chris Brown’s assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

–          Steven Cunningham (22-2, 11 KOs) returns to the ring on June 5 in Germany to face Troy Ross (23-1, 16 KOs) for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title.

–          Talented junior middleweight Sergei Dzinziruk (36-0, 22 KOs) will make his American debut on Showtime next Saturday (May 14) against Daniel Dawson (14-0-1, 7 KOs). The fight will be Dzinziruk’s 6th defense on his WBO title.

–          Tomasz Adamek is trying to secure a heavyweight title shot against either David Haye or the Klitschko brothers. Adamek won a competitive unanimous decision over Chris Arreola last month.

–          Timothy Bradley vs. Marcos Maidana on July 17 is off due to Maidana suffering a back injury. At press time, Bradley’s co- promoter Gary Shaw is trying to keep the date and get a replacement opponent.

Solar Lashes Out: “Did DJ Premier complain to the hospital authorities?”

(AllHipHop News) Solar of 7 Grand Records issued a press release condemning DJ Premier’s comments about the passing of legendary rapper Guru, who died April 19th from cancer. Solar has been caught in a firestorm of criticism over his handling of Guru while he was alive and also after his passing. He has been accused of forging a death bed letter on behalf of Guru, preventing Guru’s family from seeing him in his final moments and ostracizing the Gang Starr founder from his friends and family. In a press release, Solar lashed out at DJ Premier’s recent comments on his Sirius Hip-Hop Nation show. DJ Premier alleged that when he visited Guru in the hospital, the rapper was allegedly unshaven, his toes and finger nails were not clipped and the rapper was unkempt. “Guru was cared for in the CCU at their highest level of care for a patient in his condition. I was at the hospital every day — some days numerous times to check on Guru,” Solar claimed. “He was always clean and well attended too. Guru was in a room equipped with around-the-clock video surveillance as well as hospital personnel. Premier’s visit can be easily verified. The hospital has a strict visiting policy which includes signing in to see a patient. The CCU has an even stricter policy which is very thoroughly enforced.”According to Solar, he is going to verify DJ Premier’s visit by checking the video and hospital logs and report his findings.  “They will most certainly ask what day this visit took place and what time did he visit to facilitate process. My people and I would never tolerate any mistreatment of Guru in any way, shape, or form,” Solar said. “Did DJ Premier complain to the hospital authorities about what he claims he saw?! If so who were the hospital authority? [sic] What was their response?”At press time, fans are still awaiting final memorial plans for Guru, born Keith Elam.

Lil Wayne’s Open Letter To Mothers (Mother’s Day)

It’s not many words in the world more

powerful than “mother.”

Those six letters can bring joy, just like they bring pain. It can

invoke excitement just as quickly as it can anger, depending on the

context, I guess. For myself, it means more than I can ever possibly

describe, but I will try. I associate the term with immeasurable

strength, beautiful patience and infinite wisdom.

You can probably already tell, but the

main reason for this letter is

to pay tribute to every positive matriarch on Mother’s Day. In my eyes,

that day is 365 days a year, but I understand the significance of the

holiday. The love between a mother and her offspring is hands down the

most beautiful thing God created. More than money, more than fame, more

than cars. You know why? Because true love is the only thing that lasts

from the moment you’re born to the second you perish. To all the

mothers who read this letter, I hope this day allows you to feel the

love and respect you so rightfully deserve. You are the role models, not

me.

To the mothers of my beautiful

children, there remains nothing but

love, adoration and respect coming from my heart. Even with the mistakes

I’ve made in my life, you give me reason to smile in a place where they

attempt to break your spirit each day the sun rises. I love my babies

with all my heart. And the fact you brought them into this world only

gives me more and more motivation to write these words. Happy Mother’s

Bun B Suffers Knee and Arm Injury in Gumball 3000 Race

(AllHipHop News) Bun B is fighting through several injuries to continue the inter-continental Gumball 3000 rally despite falling off a stage at a route stop.

The surviving UGK member’s injuries happened at a club in Stockholm, Sweden. According to Bun, the accident happened due to the stage area becoming overcrowded with club patrons, causing him to be pushed off.

“We were all going on stage and it got kind of crowded,” Bun explained in a statement. “Someone fell onto me and I ended up falling off the stage and I split my knee open and sprained my ligaments in my right arm. The problem was the injury happened at 4.30AM and we had to get on the bus at 8AM to catch the plane to America. If I had gone to the hospital I would have missed the flight so someone gave me some Extra Strength Excedrin.” Because of the prestige of the Gumball rally, Bun B still has not seen a doctor, fearful that he will be told to withdraw and nurse his ailments. “This is the 4th day since the injury and I still haven’t gone to a doctor. I can’t afford to miss the Gumball,” he justified. The Gumball 3000 rally covers 3000 miles with 120 cars over 8 days. The event is mixed with music, film, and art events along the routes through Europe and North America. The event draws many car enthusiasts and celebrities from around the world. Along with Bun B, this year has seen the participation of Eve, Xzibit, Idris Elba, DJ Muggs, and Tony Hawk. The Gumball 3000 began on May 1, with the remaining routes in Quebec, Toronto, and New York City’s Time Square. Bun B third studio album, Trill OG, is due out this summer.

RICK ROSS AND THE REAL RICKY ROSS?

First I am going to tell you what I thought. I thought everything was cool between Rick Ross and the “real” Freeway Ricky Ross, who was instrumental in transporting coke in the hood under the Reagan Administration. Google that. Anyway, there are rumors that Rick Ross was robbed. Ross talked about it yesterday. Click here for that. My sources corroborate what Ross says about it. Ross was apparently just coolin’ but he didn’t leave L.A. without a hitch, my sources say. Apparently, at Ross was the Beverly Center in LA (same place where Dolla was killed) and dudes down with Freeway Ricky Ross came in like 20 Deep. Well, I heard the Miami rapper didn’t stick around to see what they wanted to discuss.

On the other side, I heard another rapper was actually robbed in the L.A. area about 2 weeks ago. I am forbidden to say anything, because it may blow an interview with said rap star from New York City who stayed at the W hotel. At least 40 Glocc didn’t have anything to do with it. 

THE GAME’S NOT DROPPING ON JUNE 15?

Uh OH! The rumors are started to swell about The Game and the release of The R.E.D. Album. I am hearing that sucker isn’t going to hit stores on June 15, because the buzz on the album isn’t where Interscope / Geffen wants it to be. I don’t know what they expect of Game if this is the case! Dude had the internet going nuts just a week ago!! Apparently, there is a song with Justin Timberlake that is about to leak that that will confirm July or August release for this chumpie. Just put the damn thing out. Let it fly or die. 

SOLAR IS OFF THE HOOK????

Man, Solar is indeed the most hated man in the rap game right now, but I am a fair player in the rumors. From what I have been told and informed from a super factually reliable source, Solar didn’t pocket the money from the sale of that home. Apparently, Solar was Guru’s health proxy, but didn’t have power of attorney on this piece of property. Looks like power of attorney was given to somebody and the property was sold, but not by Solar. Furthermore, the purchase price and the loan were almost identical so there wouldn’t be any real money made even IF it was Solar. Some good Solar news! LMAO! Looks like this was debt being cleaned up.

PM DAWN GAY?

Now, I don’t know if you kiddies even remember PM Dawn. They were from the 90s and these days are most known for being thrown off stage by KRS-One. Yeah, that’s how we used to do wack rappers. But PM Dawn was a soft pop act, but never impressed me as gay. One of my sources somehow recognized these dudes or one of them and said they were straight up gayzo.  LOL…this is a funny rumor. In 2010..we are talking about PM Dawn.

I am hearing that Dr. Dre is set to be featured on a new remix of Lloyd Banks “Beamers, Bentley, Benz” or is that “Beamers, Benz, Bentley…” Whatever. Maybe there is no friction there.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

OK…no gasps of “what is this world coming to…” Here it is.  One second grader cut another with a pocketknife in an attempt to rob him. Yeah. That. Officials at the school said that the kid at Kizirian Elementary School brought a pocketknife to class and stuck up the other kid. Here is the catch. The kid with the knife is a girl and the one she was cutting was a boy. They were both 8-years-old. “She put the knife close to my face and said, ‘give me all your money or I’m going to cut you,” Bedgood said. The girl has been suspended indefinitely. He should have beat the mess out of her! Damn! Who teaches this kind of behavior to an 8 year old? Like, she got all of $2 from that boy. Arrest the parents!

OLIVIA NOT FEELING DRIZZY

A couple weeks ago a track popped up on the Internet featuring G-Unit outcast, Olivia, and Young Money’s golden boy, Drake.  Drake was quick to disassociate himself with the record claiming it was an old song that was used without his permission.  His exact words were “I don’t support taking unauthorized recordings and marketing them as features. I’ve never worked with Olivia”.  Well Olivia didn’t take kindly to that statement and says Drake is “corny” for speaking on it.  She says it’s common in the mixtape world and to her knowledge Drake was even paid for the song.

FYI…I’m watching New Jack City on VH1 as I write this…get it???  OK…So there’s a rumor going around that Jay-Z and Beyonce will be moving into a mansion in one of Pennsylvania’s uber-exclusive communities and the current owners decided to take the local news on a tour of the new Carter Estate.  They’re aren’t many celebrities as private as these two so I wonder how they feel about this:

BREEZY GROWS UP

Exclusive: Tony Yayo Takes Hostages In New Flick ‘SWAT’

(AllHipHop News) G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo has landed a major film role in the movie SWAT: Fire Fight, which is based on the hit TV show S.W.A.T. As previously reported on AllHipHop.com, production on the movie SWAT started in Detroit on April 18th, with director Bennie Boom handling directorial duties. The movie centers around a Los Angeles SWAT officer who is sent to train the Detroit SWAT team with new anti-terrorism techniques. As Lt. Paul Cutler attempt to train the new team he locks horns with his new captain, while encountering resistance from the team he is training. Enter Tony Yayo. A source confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the G-Unit member would be “taking hostages.” His character is named “Carlos,” in the movie, which also stars Robert Patrick, Giancarlo Esposito, Kim Byers and others. “He is a ‘bad guy’ that takes an innocent bystander hostage and ignites a SWAT: Fire Fight,” the source told AllHipHop.com. “It’s exciting to bring an iconic TV show to life,” said executive Producer Scott Putman. “The film is going to be gritty, edgy, and suspenseful.  I used to watch the TV series when I was a kid, and I couldn’t be more excited to help carry on the name.” SWAT: Fire Fight is a production of Neal H. Moritz’s Original Film, with Stage 6 Films. A release date was not available as of press time.  

Rick Ross Denies L.A. Robbery Reports

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Rick Ross has responded to reports that he was robbed of a valuable chain earlier this week in California. In an interview with SpliffTv, Rick Ross addressed the rumors, while announcing the release of a new mixtape/EP titled Albert Anastasia with DJ Smallz, which will drop prior to the release of his official album Teflon Don.“I wasn’t in LA two days ago. I got a call saying I was in LA,” Ross stated. “Two fake Twitter gangsters said they robbed me for a chain. There’s too many real ni**as in LA I see yall, to even think about letting the fake Twitter thugs f### the real ni**s up.”Ross’ new mixtape Albert Anastasia is named after Albert “The Mad Hatter” Anastasia, a ruthless Italian Mafia leader who ruled New York’s Gambino family from 1951-1957. Additionally Anastasia headed up the notorious Murder Inc. stable of mob killers before he himself was infamously murdered while getting a shave in barber’s chair. Ross revealed that he could possibly be hitting the road to promote Teflon Don with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is slated to release his upcoming album Last Train to Paris on June 22nd. “We cooking up the big layout now for the albums. Last Train to Paris will be in stores soon, Teflon Don will be in stores too, so we are just cooking up the big layout. We are just going to do what we do and make sure fans know its in the streets.”According to Ross, Albert Anastasia will be released over Memorial Day Weekend. “Its most definitely a dope mixtape. It’s most definitely going to have all new music on there. I been releasing a few freestyles just preppin this s###. It’s definitely going to be a classic mixtape. Just to feed the real ni**as in the streets before I give them this Teflon Don.”Teflon Don is due in stores June 29th.
