A state court has refused to block the upcoming release of a new controversial documentary on Lil Wayne named The Carter.
The film is being released by QD3 Entertainment, a company owned by producer Quincy Jones III, which has also released Hip-Hop themed titles like Thug Angel, The Freshest Kids, the Beef series and others.
Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against QD3 Entertainment, claiming the company reneged on a deal that would have allowed him to have approval over the films final cut.
The rapper reportedly took issue with certain scenes displaying his drug use in the documentary, which follows him all over the country and to Amsterdam.
According to the lawsuit, Lil Waynes manager reviewed The Carter in December and requested that the scenes in question be removed.
A second cut also failed to live to his managers expectations in January and the scenes in question were still in the film when it premiered during the Sundance Film Festival a few weeks later, prompting the lawsuit.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Mink denied a request for a preliminary injunction, paving for the way for QD3 to seed distribution for the project.
“We’re very pleased with the court’s decision,” Quincy Jones III told Variety. “We made a great film, which was incredibly well received at Sundance, and showcases Lil Wayne’s extraordinary talent.”
The Carter, which was directed by Adam Bhala Lough, has no scheduled theatrical release date as of press time.

Last night former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson was the talk of the evening as a gaggle of celebrities convened in Manhattans downtown AMC theater to celebrate the release of the documentary called Tyson.
Celebrities included Nas, Mario, Jimmy Henchmen Rosemond, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, Ice-T and wife Coco, TV host Sway, media personality Egypt, boxing legend Smokin Joe Frazier, Christopher Walken and several others.
Film director James Toback managed to capture the many facets of Mike Tyson from his early beginnings to his present existence as a family man. Much of Tysons family and friends were present for the premier as well.
Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, said that seeing Tyson resurrect his career was a joyous reason for celebration and one that hes very familiar with.
Mike is family. Mike and I have a long history together. Of course, he was married to my sister Monica, Steele told AllHipHop.com. Im excited for Mike. Hes got a lot of things going on and, you know, hes pulling all the ends together and this documentary is kind of a way to help him do that.
Rapper Nas served as one of the movies producers and he also crafted the theme song of the movie, a rap tune called Legendary. Other producers included basketball player Carmelo Anthony, Hip-Hop producer Salaam Remi Gibbs and Toback.
Rappers like LL Cool J, Tupac Shakur and Canibus all had some form of relationship with Tyson and the icons name has been mentioned countless times in rap songs. Nas explained that the Hip-Hop generation has a special affinity for Tyson, as he emerged during a period where Hip-Hop was exploding on the scene.
Nas said, We never had anybody represent us in the way that Mike Tyson represented. Hes a leader. I think its a great thing to give the people his life. It takes a brave man and an intelligent man [to do that]. You get to see the real side of Mike.
In Tyson, the Brooklyn native cries, expresses rage over his rape conviction, self-doubt, fear and an entire spectrum of seemingly conflicting emotions. He even admits he contracted a sexually transmitted disease prior to winning the heavy weight belt at 19. He was the youngest to do so.
Nas suggested that Mike Tyson could venture into acting, stating that the boxing champ was equipped for everything from drama to comedy.
Just go back on what Mike has meant to us thought all the years. Mike has been the first baller of our generation, the first champion of our generation that stood for the common man, he continued.
I dont think legacies can be defined. Its something that we witness. The rise and fall of a man and a boxer and to see him rise again, said Anthony Anderson, who admitted that his favorite Mike Tyson moment was when he defeated Trevor Berbick.
Ultimately, many felt the film served to give fans a deep dive into the mind of a man mistakenly vilified as a monster.
A lot of people have an idea about him thats not correct, Nas concluded.
Tyson will start screenings in Los Angeles and New York on Friday.

West Coast legend Snoop Dogg is currently being considered to host this years MOBO awards.
The MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards was founded in 1995, and is an annual UK event that celebrates the music achievements of elite artists, regardless of race, who perform what is deemed black music.
Genres that fall under this classification include jazz, soul, R&B, and Hip-Hop. For the last 13 years, the show has run exclusively in London.
This year, organizers have moved the event to Glasgow, Scotland, and are keen on bringing in Snoop due to his past successful hosting duties.
“It would be a huge coup to get Snoop, an anonymous insider explained to The Mirror. He’s such a crowd pleaser and was a great host of the MTV awards in Munich.”
Three years ago, the UK permanently banned Snoop from entering the country due to an alleged entourage brawl at Heathrow Airport.
Last January, the Long Beach emcee recruited celebrity friends David Beckham and Paul McCartney to assist in having the travel ban reversed.
The 2009 MOBO Award will commence this year on September 30 at Glasgows Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre.
At press time, organizers have not announced any performers or award nominees.
Rapper C-Murder is facing serious financial trouble as his upcoming murder trial looms, in addition to prosecutors renewed efforts to jail the rapper for allegedly violating a gag order.
In a bombshell announcement in court yesterday (April 20), C-Murders longtime attorney Ron Rakosky announced that he wants to withdraw as Millers attorney.
Rakosky successfully represented the rapper during his first trial in October 2003.
C-Murder, born Cory Miller, was originally convicted of shooting and killing 16-year-old Steve Thomas during an altercation in a now defunct Jefferson Parish nightclub in 2002.
He was immediately sentenced to a mandatory life sentence.
Thanks to Rakosky, the verdict was overturned in Louisiana Supreme Court in March of 2006, after it was proved that prosecutors expunged the records of several of their witnesses to bolster their credibility.
Yesterday, Rakosky said that C-Murder has not paid him for hundreds of hours in legal fees over the past three years.
According to the Times-Picayune, the attorney asked for permission to be removed from the murder trial, which is scheduled to go before a judge and jury in August.
C-Murders need to fund his murder trial may also send him back to jail for violating a gag order.
Prosecutors claim C-Murder used the website to indirectly proclaim his innocence.
Let me finally take a moment to personally thank all of you for the outpour of love and support you have given me in the past seven difficult years, due to postponements and red tape, the rappers website www.corymillerinnocencefund.com states. When justice is delayed, then justice has been denied. Had this faulty Justice system been as slow arresting me as they have been in validating my innocence, it would’ve known they had the wrong man’. As the evidence shows, I am innocent! As my day in court approaches, my family and I pray and are confident I will be acquitted and cleared of all alleged incidents. When that day finally comes, we’ll be looking forward to celebrating with you in prayer. ”
A news conference the rapper recently held with Reverend Toris Young is also being scrutinized. The rapper participated in an anti-violence/crime rally last week.
Prosecutors say the gathering was a violation of C-Murders probation because of Rev. Youngs criminal past.
Three years ago, Young pleaded guilty to 11 felony counts of identity theft and access device fraud. Miller is prohibited from associating with felons.
C-Murders murder trial is slated to start on August 3.

Lily Allen
Roseland Ballroom, NYC
April 20th, 2009
Everyones on it coos Lily Allen – and while this concert opening song refers to the consumption of drugs, in watching Allen jump around in her short neck-bob, oversized shirt, black tights, and high-tops it becomes a daily regimen of gossip.
Its a sold out show at Roseland Ballroom in NYC, and Lily Allen is headlining the night. Every square inch of Roseland is covered by people who watch in awe. With the main focus of the show on her new material, the paparazzi darling was able to rock-out to the synths that cover her sophomore effort Its Not Me, Its You.
Lily is polite, sweet and demure through out the show- counting her lighting of a cigarette and the throwing of an empty plastic red cup to an audience member. The term cute as a button really does come to mind as she even sheds light on her songs Chinese is about missing her mother while shes away.
The set list included the Mark Ronson collaboration Oh My God of his album Version. While her voice is small she carries her material with the grace of a true performer, almost a direct stab at the competition that once spewed between her and another English singer-songwriter that shall remain high and undisclosed.
Lily set the stage for her big encore by doing an impromptu dance-a-tron to the tune of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite.” Further proving her chops for pure pop, Allen closed the show with an already famous cover (thanks to Lilys frenemy: the Internet) of Britney Spears’ Womanizer.
Already an international paparazzi subject, her stint at Roseland Ballroom in NYC was a reminder why shes even in the headlines bloggers write about her while they listen to her music.
I am going out on a thin limb and will explain to you all why Rick Ross wont lose.
That’s right.
I can’t lie. I thought Rick Ross was finished when the Miami rapper was under siege by 50 Cent, the mastermind of destroying careers. Also, when he first came out, I wasn’t all that impressed with him as an artist. But, it would seem that, misfortune has made fate smile upon Rick. (For the record, Ross has proclaimed absolute victory. Click here to see the video of this declaration.)
50 Cent was lighting up Ross’ life that first week to two weeks of their beef. It was ugly and disrespectful. Sure, Ross started it wit a scant rap line. It was like a kid going up and hitting a beehive and that’s exactly how I looked at Ross when he mentioned 50’s baby’s mother in “Mafia Music.” Why would he do such a thing as incite the fury of 50 Cent?
The answer remains a mystery.
Oh, but this is for sure, Ross is in a prime position at this point in 2009.
Be clear, Ross isn’t any sort of loser. He experienced his breakout after signing with Def Jam. With Trilla (2008), he topped his first album, Port of Miami (2006)- in my opinion. Two gold-selling albums. Everything was cool, but suddenly thesmokinggun.com confirmed the rumors that Rick Ross had once served as a correctional officer in Miami.
Hip-Hop and the streets gasped collectively! How would he plow though the blasphemy and so-called shame of having such a past (a 9-5 for God’s sake!)? How else – thug his way though-as Jay-Z put it. An alleged beatdown of DJ Vlad produced a $4 million lawsuit against the rapper for asking about the occupation. That wasn’t a good idea on Ross’ crew’s part. He continued to tell lil’ lies or ignore the rumors. He was in a spider’s web, but refused to squirm.
And then there was 50 Cent, who just this year did everything but show Ross in a tutu Jay-Z style. For all intent and purposes, Rick Ross should have had one foot in the rap grave and the other on slippery ice.
Through it all, Ross is still here.
He’s here for the same reason Lil’ Wayne remains a staple in rap. Remember when those images of Lil Wayne and “daddy ” Baby popped up? The uproar! The furor! The name calling! The fans split like the Red Sea! They hated Wayne. They loved Wayne. They thought he was gay. They thought he was straight. Wayne forged ahead to defeat his circumstances in ways that really defies logic (based on the “rules” of Hip-Hop).
Ross’ dilemma is similar to Wayne’s, but why he won’t lose is slightly different.
Rick Ross isn’t likely to topple 50 Cent and he doesn’t have to collapse the G-Unit Dynasty. All Ross has done has showed some moxie and continuously produce quality music.
To keep it moving, he’s been staying on message by calling 50 Cent a “monkey” in a manner than is highly offensive to me. Of course, 50 Cent and G-Unit refer to themselves as gorillas so who am I to question the reduction of status? And Ross now does a lot of laughing and posturing though his own viral videos. As hes withstood the torrential storm, hes increased his aggressiveness. It reminds of how Muhammad Ali withstood George Foreman’s mighty body shots as he did the rope-a-dope.
50 And Ross have similarities.
In the not-too-distant past, 50 Cent was the underdog and he was regarded as some form of snitch for his penchant for writing rhymes with the names of street dudes in them. Thats what they said was considered dry snitching. I wasnt even aware of this dry snitching until 50s detractors came along. Still, 50 Cent won everybody over (the fans, the streets, corporate America) with his ability to create good, f**kin music. Hes a huge success by just about any standard. When the music is right, all the naysayers are forced to fall in line.
Here we are and Ross Deeper Than Rap is here. The fans were upset when Ross was not completely honest about his tenure as a C.O., but they really only cared hat he didnt tell the truth. Fans of music typically willingly believe in the false image that most rappers portray. When they find the facts, they act oh-so-shocked and amazed that Rapper X didn’t kill 30 people, only did 3 months in jail and flipped burgers and Mickey D’s once or twice. All rappers are phoney to some extent as are most celebrities in general.
Whatever Ross did in his former life really doesn’t matter to me.
The music he has been pumping out is dope and his new album sound like his best work to date. There isn’t a more eloquent way to describe the music. Its DOPE. Quality music is truly what the people want in 2009, especially at a time when the industry seems to be struggling to define itself.
So, there you have it, an editorial that could have easily been titled Why Rick Ross Will Win.
Epilogue: Right now, 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew continue to berate Rick Ross, but have been very quiet as of late. Rick Ross’ baby’s mother and 50 are supposed to drop a revelatory book about Ross. My insider intelligence also suggests that there are far more nefarious maneuvers being plotted, but thats another rumor for another day.

WHOA – WHOA! RICK ROSS DOES A 50 CENT TO 50 CENT?
This is getting crazy! Remember when 50 Cent had a funeral for Cam’ron (or Cam’ron’s career)? Well, it appears that Ross is going to do the same to 50 Cent. 50 Cent is “funeralized” in a new short video by Rick Ross the BAWSE. I’m not quite sure what to make of this at this point. 50 Cent had all of the momentum and now it seems to be shifting to Ross. I wonder if 50 Cent is just chilling so that he doesn’t help Ross promote his CD? Not sure. Rick sure is going in on 50 Cent though. Also, click here for AllHipHop’s exclusive chat with Ross, where he informs the people that he’s defeated 50 Cent! WHOA. Now, check out “In Cold Blood.”

MIKE TYSON COMES HOME! Nas and Ice-T support the man.
What a festive affair I missed last night! Iron Mike Tyson was present for the NYC premiere of his movie “Tyson.” AHH’s Jigsaw made the rounds. He said there were no rumors, but a lot of people showed up to the “party.” Here are some of the players. Nas. Michael Steete of the Republican Party. Dame Dash. Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosmond. Mario. Ice-T & Coco. Anthony Anderson. Egypt. There really weren’t any rumors, but they are saying that this Tyson film is a remarkable piece of work that shows all of Tyson’s human sides. He spoke very candidly about his highs and lows, including his rape conviction. Mike hung out after the movie for quite a while with his whole family in tow. Very cool!
CHRIS BROWN SIGHTING!
One of my good reader friends hit me up and let me know that they spotted Chris Brown playing hoops in VA.
Illseed, your boy Chriss Breezy aka Chris Brown was on campus at VCU tonight playing basketball. I gotta give it to him he got some game on him. Me and my girl left the Monroe park campus and went to the MCV campus gym to play some ball and workout after getting out of class and we noticed it was a lot of people in there just standing around watching the game. Normally that’s what happens at the Siegel center and that’s why we skipped going there tonight At first I thought it was odd because it’s never that many people waiting to play ball, but then I noticed it was a lot of girls standing around whispering and stuff. We stopped and watched the game for a minute and there was your boy Chris Breezy ballin. I gotta say, he has some good handles and would be a good point guard. He played with confidence and as the night went on, the gym became more crowded with people just standing around watching and taking pictures. There are some videos and pictures posted on facebook already from some people who were there. He seemed to be having a good time and everyone was cheering for him. I know he got a couple of numbers before he left because he had some quality girls to choose from. His bodyguard was posted up, just chillin. He really didn’t seem to be on edge like your normal bodyguards. I also didn’t see the blue Lamborghini. As we were leaving I looked for it in the parking lot, but I didn’t see it so I’m assuming he must have parked it in the deck that’s beside the gym. He seemed like a real cool dude though and was having a good time just trying to get away from the stresses that he has going on.
WALE TO THE RESCUE!!!!!!!!
One of my homeys from around the way. I don’t mention names unless they want to be mentioned. There was a Wale concert at Indiana University and a mega fight almost broke out, from what I understand. 2 girls vs 1 girl.
Its hard to tell whats going on but here’s the story:
Two Girls (probably drunk) started arguing with one girl and Wale broke it up quickly and tried to get all three girls on stage to calm them down, he pulled 2 girls on stage and when he reached out to pull the 3rd girl on stage, the other two got very aggressive and at this point security jumped in and threw the two aggressive girls out of the club.
Overall, Wale and Young Chris KILLED IT, make sure to support the album, Attention Deficit, when it drops.
NOTE: there was also a very drunk girl with a lack of rhythm who got on stage but then WOULD NOT GET OFF, Wale eventually had to tell her to get off lmao
Here is the video (I think I heard somebody say Shout out to illseed!):
Shout out to Mr. Rhymestyle!
RAKIM VS BIG DADDY KANE?
Sometimes I like to go old school with the rumors. Can you tell me what you heard about the lyrical beef with BDK and Rakim? I’m not even going to comment on it yet! I want to hear from old and young on this one. Last year, AllHipHop did a story on this competition last year, but never touched on the fact that there were real rumors, backed by real lyrics. Email me at [email protected] and tell me what you “know” about this!
RICK ROSS HIT TODAY
You know some counted Rick Ross out not too long ago. But now, I have to say, he’s done much better than I expected. Now, I want to know what you think of The Bawse and give me your predictions on how much he’ll sell in the first week! You know where to hit me. And if you don’t, its [email protected].
FLESH N BONE IS COMIN’ HOMMMMMMMEE!!!!!
I told ya! I want to thank the people that tipped me off to this one.
Gun charges against Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper Flesh-N-Bone were dropped in a Santa Clarita, California courtroom yesterday (April 20).
Flesh, born Stanley Howse, was charged with multiple felonies charges after he was stopped for a moving violation on April 2.
The traffic stop led to a search of his Canyon Country home, where police found a gun, ammunition and a small amount of marijuana.
This is what they are NOT saying officially. The police allegedly failed to notate on the report that they used a saw to break into the case that had the gun (meaning Flesh did not have possession of it). Also they video taped the house before and after the search but shut the camera off during the search. The sheriff department also lied to the press by saying that a gun was found in the car he was driving in even though there wasn’t any. The gun was in the house in a locked box in a closet. Flesh must still, however, go before the parole board, but should be out this week. To me, he should be out YESTERDAY! Glad to hear this news.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES
Somebody representing Jha Jah hit me highly upset about the rumor that she was homeless. She does live down in Miami, but she’s not homeless. They said she’s even invested in a strip club. Now, that’s money!
Here is the lament from Jha Jha’s homey:
Illseed I never been on ya site before family but heads have told me that you was talking sideways about my artist Jha Jha what the f### is that about? In no way shape or form is she homeless by any means. Do remember she did the song with diddy and jim if not google the sizzurp video boy boy. She got a condo out of that deal in Atl. All here peoples are game tight in Mia and she good with us in NYC buddy. She also invested in a strip club in the A. So if you really wanna know about here holla at me and stop putting stupid s**t up on ya site like pimps trying to be rappers and false rumors about Jha Jha .
For the record, I never said she was actually homeless. And I generally know that I will get a response from somebody when I post a rumor about somebody we haven’t heard from in a long time. Incidentally, I hear Jha Jha and Jim Jones are still cool.

And oh yeah…they talked about Diddy being on their first single…do they ever get tired of Diddy? Click on the video to find out for yourself!

“It
is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not

do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know
your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.” The Art of War, Sun Tzu
It was the handshake heard round the world.
Prez Obama and Venezuelan President (aka Dictator) Hugo Chavezs crossed paths at the recent Summit of the Americas.
Chavez is best known for his anti-American views, support of Castro and
communist Cuba, standing up for the poor man and trying to united
Latina America and various third-world countries to combat what he
considers the evil American Empire.
Venezuela
is rich in natural resources including petroleum, natural gas, iron
ore, gold, bauxite, other minerals, hydropower and diamonds. Its
because of this that Chavez has gotten a platform at all. He shuns our
country publicly, yet we still would like to do business with him and he knows it.
The United States it the largest buyer of Venezelan oil. Theres no
coincidence that the book Chavez handed Prez Obama before extending his
hand for a shake was “The Open Veins of Latin America,” published in 1971 by Uruguayan Eduardo Galeano.
Two powerful men shook hands.
Some feel Obama b***hed up, showing that the years of cold shouldering presented by the Bush administration melted away.
How can we be a powerhouse if we shaking hands with all of our previous enemies? they ask puzzled.
Its not a big deal when you think about it on a common mans level but politically this is a big freaking deal.
Personally,
if you look at the picture you can tell that Obama didnt really want
to shake dude’s hand. Chavez is like your crazy rich uncle that folks
tolerate at the family reunion cause you hope hell bless with you a
$20 bill after you let him hug you.
To understand where all this comes from we’ve got to back to to 2002.
Chavez,
president of Venezuela for four years, is kidnapped and survives a
coup-attempt which he strongly believes was supported by the United
States. it’s not a far fetched theory when you realize the U.S. has
been behind some coups including Iran in 1953 and a failed Iraq coup lead by a CIA -paid Sadaam Hussein in 1959
. The United States government (read: Bush and em) claims that Chávez
is a threat to democracy in Latin America. Chavez makes it clear that
he is anti-American and positions himself as a champion for Latin
America and other third-world countries.
What
resulted was a standoff of wills for the next six years. Chavez
objected to what he called the Evil American Empire. Last fall he
kicked the US diplomat out of Venezuela and voiced the same distain for
Obama as he did for Bush, considering them to be of the same cloth.
Chavezs
hate for Bush ran deep. On September 20, 2006 he gave this memorable
speech at the UN where he called President Bush the devil. Peep the audio at
1:20 and listen for the laughter.
Fast forward to present day. Political pundits are gagging over the handshake:
“Everywhere
in Latin America, enemies of America are going to use the picture of
Chavez smiling and meeting with the president as proof that Chavez is
now legitimate, that he’s acceptable,” Republican Newt Gingrich, a
former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, told NBC’s “Today”
show.
Former
Vice President Dick Cheney told Fox News Channels Sean Hannity that
President Obamas handshake with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was
not helpful and could lead foes of the U.S. to think theyre
dealing with a weak president.
Obama
downplayed the whole ordeal and credits his visits overseas and
interaction with once shunned leaders as creating opportunities in the
future.
Bush played it his way and failed miserable.
Already, Chavez took Obamas reaction as a positive sign, suggesting he will return a Venezuelan ambassador to Washington.
Perhaps Obama is debunking the angry black man myth and switching it up.
Hes proven his friendly smile and cool demeanor can be infectious.
