YNW Melly Trial: Medical Examiner Says Victims Were Shot Multiple Times After They Died

Broward County’s chief medical examiner testified in the YNW Melly murder trial on Tuesday (June 27).

Dr. Rebecca MacDougall told a Florida jury YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy suffered multiple gunshot wounds after the two were already dead. MacDougall performed the autopsy on YNW Sakchaser and supervised her associate Adrienne Sauder, who examined YNW Juvy.

“They are already deceased when the other [wounds] are inflicted,” MacDougall said.

MacDougall identified the shot that killed YNW Sakchaser in her testimony. She noted he was dead by the time he arrived at a local hospital.

Sauder also took the stand on Tuesday, per Law & Crime’s Bryson Paul. Her autopsy examination confirmed several of YNW Juvy’s wounds were inflicted after he was dead.

Prosecutors accuse YNW Melly of killing YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy in 2018. The rapper pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.

The YNW Melly murder trial began in Florida on June 12. He has remained in custody since his 2019 arrest.

YNW Melly’s lawyers filed a motion for a mistrial just a few days after the trial started. His defense team claimed the prosecution “tainted” the jury.

Judge John Murphy denied the motion on June 20, allowing the trial to continue. YNW Melly faces the death penalty if convicted.

Lupe Fiasco Links With Bubba Wallace For Upcoming NASCAR Block Party

Black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace brings something different to the sport. Because he’s of the Hip-Hop generation, he retains a cultural aesthetic the racing world has never seen. In addition to being a great driver, his goal is to introduce certain underserved communities to the racing platform that changed his life.

Last year, Wallace and NASCAR launched a few block parties in two major Southern cities: Birmingham, Alabama and Richmond, Virginia. This year, he’s linking with Grammy Award-winning artist Lupe Fiasco to bring some fun to Chicago.

According to Block Club Chicago, fans can meet Fiasco and Wallace at Bubba’s Block Party on Wednesday (June 28) at the DuSable Black History Museum from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. local time.

The ticketed event is free with registration, but the entrance is based on a first-come, first-served basis, as stated on the website. While it’s family-friendly, children will only be allowed to attend with an adult chaperone’s registration and have to stay with that adult chaperone throughout the entire event.

The “Battle Scars” rapper will perform at the event. Other forms of entertainment, directly connected to the sport are live pit stops and NASCAR racing simulators. Of course, a block party isn’t a block party if there isn’t any grub. So, Wallace and NASCAR have secured a fleet of food trucks from local restaurants to pop up for people to support.

French Montana Faced Culture Shock And Hard Times After Immigrating To United States

French Montana reflected on his journey as an immigrant in an interview with Page Six.

The Moroccan-born rapper recalled how his expectations for life in the United States quickly changed once he arrived in America at the age of 13. French Montana remembered the culture shock he felt once he settled in the Bronx.

“When they showed us the Empire State Building — and all the buildings downtown — I thought we were going to live there,” he told Page Six. “But when we came to the States we had to go to [the Bronx’s] Mott Haven projects.”

French Montana described his living situation as the “American nightmare.” But he learned a lot about himself as a young immigrant in the Bronx.

“I went through every level of struggle, every level of disrespect, every level of not understanding — and every step that was there I was there to take,” he explained. “Whether it was work or school, I just had to go through it.”

He continued, “I feel like the best teacher in life is failure. And I feel like when you come from the mud, and you have to learn everything from experience, I feel like there is no better teacher than that … I am one of those that learned from experiences.”

French Montana’s immigrant story is explored in the new documentary For Khadija. The film premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in June.

Check out the trailer for French Montana’s documentary below.

Diageo Severs Ties With Diddy & Ciroc; Claims Mogul Only Invested $1K In DeLeón Tequila

Spirits giant Diageo has ended its 15-year partnership with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs following a racial discrimination lawsuit, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop.com.

Diddy’s claim that Diageo treated his DeLeón tequila brand as an “urban” product and neglected it in its marketing initiatives has stirred up controversy, leading to the severance of their partnership.

The relationship between Diageo and Diddy kicked off in 2007 with a marketing services agreement concerning the brand management of Cîroc vodka.

This collaboration proved fruitful for both parties, with the mogul reaping nearly $1 billion for his services as a brand ambassador and marketer over the years. However, the harmony between the two entities began to wane in 2013 when they formed a joint venture (JV) to purchase the DeLeón brand.

According to Diageo, the JV encountered financial issues from its inception, with Diddy investing a mere $1,000 into the venture, while Diageo invested a staggering sum of over $100 million.

But his lawsuit alleges that Diageo deliberately hindered the growth of DeLeón’s sales for almost a decade due to the company’s racial bias, marketing the brand only to “urban customers.”

He further claimed that a Diageo executive had stated that his brands would have been more widespreadif he were Martha Stewart.

In an attempt to salvage the brand and their partnership, both parties agreed to a fresh start for DeLeón, with Diageo forgoing the collection of Diddy’s debts worth millions of dollars and providing additional funding for marketing and promotion purposes.

Despite the uneasy partnership, the DeLeón brand experienced growth, with its sales volume doubling, compelling Diageo to ramp up production.

However, Diddy’s repeated threats of contrived racism allegations and demands for supposed billions of dollars in damages led Diageo to sever ties with him.

Diageo has categorically denied Diddy’s allegations, maintaining that his claims distract from the fact that his breach-of-contract claim is entirely without merit.

This high-profile fallout leaves the future of the Cîroc and DeLeón brands uncertain but a rep for Diageo told AllHipHop.com, “Diageo remains committed to the success of both brands, as evidenced by the investments they have made and will continue to make in them.”

Dr. Dre, Brandy, Chadwick Bozeman Among 2024 Hollywood Walk Of Fame Class

The new Hollywood Walk of Fame class has been revealed. According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, it includes 31 names from the Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording and Sports Entertainment categories.

Dr. Dre, Angie Martinez, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Kerry Washington, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Mario Lopez, former Oakland Raider/actor Carl Weathers are among the honorees. Posthumous stars will be given to Chadwick Boseman and Otis Redding.

“The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people,” Walk of Fame Chair Ellen K said. “We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway.”

In terms of Hip-Hop artists, Ice-T and Salt-n-Pepa were among the few to get their stars this year. In February, television mogul Dick Wolf, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, fellow Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay, comedian Mike Epps, Ice Cube and Russell Simmons were on deck to see Ice-T’s unveiled. It was a full circle moment for Ice-T, who noted he used to wreak havoc on the same Hollywood streets in the 1980s.

The dates of the forthcoming ceremonies haven’t been scheduled yet but will be announced throughout the year on the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s official website.

Jacquees Reportedly Tased For Biting Woman In Atlanta Bar Before His Arrest

Jacquees was arrested in the wee hours of Friday (June 23) and now, more details have emerged. According to WSB-TV, the Atlanta-based singer got drunk at the Local Tap bar on Thursday (June 22) and started getting “loud and boisterous” around 11:30 p.m. local time.

At one point, Jacquees reportedly got into an exchange with a female employee at the establishment. The victim told police he choked her and bit her on the hand. Other witnesses said he was being unruly in his drunkenness and started a fight with security.

Responding officers couldn’t get his side of the story because he sped off in his Ferrari sports car—although he didn’t get far. Police located Jacquees in a parking lot not far from where the incident happened. After he was apprehended, he refused to cooperate and tried escaping from police custody. While fleeing, he was tased by an officer’s stun gun.

The self-proclaimed King of R&B was then arrested and charged with simple battery and misdemeanor obstructing law enforcement around 1:26 a.m. the following morning. Jail records showed the 29-year-old was given a $3,700 bond that afternoon and had to drop about $40 for his release.

The arrest happened the same day he released “Woman’s Worth,” a track that addresses the sensitive subject of domestic violence.

“Nearly 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse by an intimate partner during their lifetime,” Jacquees wrote on Instagram. “It’s not always easy for the victim to leave their abuser for a number of reasons – they love them, they fear them, they have kids with them, a belief they can change them or they simply feel they have no where else to go. If you suspect or know of anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse, please try and help.”

Lil Uzi Vert Announces New Album “Pink Tape”

Lil Uzi Vert has announced a new album titled *Pink Tape.*

The forthcoming 26-track LP would mark the follow-up to the “Watch This” rapper’s 2020 album, *Eternal Atake,* and has been set for release on June 30th via Atlantic Records.

Last November, the Philadelphia rapper shared the album’s first single Just Wanna Rock. He then debuted the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in April.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Ct9xQ0-s-Lb/?hl=en

Along with the announcement, the 27-year-old artist also dropped the trailer for the new album – which saw them in an anime-style universe battling a cartoon villain to retrieve a pink diamond stolen from their forehead.

The trailer referenced the $24 million pink diamond that was torn out during a performance at the Rolling Loud Miami festival in 2021.

In May, Lil Uzi worked with Future and Don Toliver on two songs from the Metro Boomin-produced soundtrack for the movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

DaBaby Celebrates Defeating Cancel Culture: “We’re Gonna Stay On Top Where We Belong”

DaBaby has faced significant public backlash following his comments during the 2021 Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. Two years later, DaBaby is back with another record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Now, he apparently feels he has overcome the hit drought. Real 92.3’s Bootleg Kev recently spoke to the Call Da Fireman EP creator about surviving so-called cancel culture.

“I’ve been riding with you for a long time, and I’m just super happy that you got through this weird cancel cloud,” Kev said. “You have officially defeated cancel culture.” DaBaby responded, “For sure… We’re gonna stay on top where we belong.”

DaBaby’s “Shake Sumn” peaked at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his first charting entry of the year. So far, the track has held a spot on the weekly rankings of the most popular songs in America seven times.

The rapper has faced an uphill climb following his comments at Rolling Loud Miami. He told the crowd at the time, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of [those] deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up.”

The Interscope recording artist also said, “Ladies, if your p#### smells like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking a n####’s dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”

Critics categorized those comments as homophobic ,which led to DaBaby losing partnership deals and other festival gigs. In response, he posted an apology to the LGBTQ community before deleting that apology a week later.

There were questions about whether DaBaby could continue to achieve mainstream success following the Rolling Loud Miami controversy. He scored multiple Top 10 hits prior to the incident, including going No. 1 with “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch.

However, only one of DaBaby’s songs from 2022 managed to make it onto the Billboard Hot 100. “Neighborhood Superstar” with NBA YoungBoy stayed on the chart for one week.

JT’s Team Claims BET Awards Spat With Lil Uzi Vert Didn’t Involve Ice Spice

City Girls member JT made headlines following the 2023 BET Awards. An apparent fight with her partner Lil Uzi Vert had many social media users jumping to the conclusion.

Video of JT throwing her phone at Lil Uzi Vert while in the BET Award audience spread across the internet. Almost instantly, rumors began to spread with many assuming the fight was over Ice Spice.

A photo of Lil Uzi Vert and Ice Spice together from the BET Awards went viral online. Plus, during his performance at the show, Uzi rapped, “I got a nice wife… She got a little fro, she looks like Ice Spice.”

According to TMZ, JT wasn’t upset over Lil Uzi’s interaction with Ice Spice or Lil Uzi’s lyrics about the rising star. Apparently, the Florida native’s anger was the result of losing her seat at the ceremony.

Ice Spice appeared to reference the headline-grabbing situation at this year’s BET Awards. On early Monday morning (June 26), the Bronx-bred performer tweeted, “Ghetto but fun.”

BET also tapped Ice Spice to perform during Sunday night’s broadcast. The 10K Projects/Capitol recording artist ran through her singles “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “Princess Diana” and “In Ha Mood.”

Meanwhile, Lil Uzi Vert is preparing to release his Pink Tape project. An anime-inspired teaser trailer for the upcoming studio album arrived on Lil Uzi’s Instagram page on Monday.

City Girls recently showed up on Diddy’s “Act Bad” song, which also features Fabolous. The Quality Control Music-backed rap duo of JT and Yung Miami also put out their own “I Need a Thug” single in recent weeks.

Stormzy is the new owner of a U.K. soccer team as part of a three-man consortium set to take over control at his hometown club, AFC Croydon Athletic. The South London rap star is joined in the deal by Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and former Head of Player Care, Danny Young.

Stormzy has had a whirlwind 24 hours, releasing his new single “Longevity Flow” just hours before the announcement.

Stormzy Receives Freedom of the Borough Award From Croydon Council

Last month, Croydon Council awarded the hometown hero the Freedom of the Borough. He received the honor for services to the borough’s diverse communities. Among them, his dedication to music, philanthropy, youth empowerment and mental health issues.

“It feels like a full circle moment,” Stormzy said in a video message. ”Anyone who knows me knows that I was born in Croydon, was raised in Croydon, went to school in Croydon, all of my friends and family are in Croydon, so to be awarded with the Freedom of the Borough means a lot to me. I thank the whole community and the people at the Council who made this possible.”

Angela Bassett To Receive Honorary Oscar

Fans of Angela Bassett took issue with the acting legend not winning Best Supporting Actress at the 95th Academy Awards in March, especially since Bassett has never won a gilded trophy.

According to a press release from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), the organization’s Board of Governors voted to present Bassett with an Academy Honorary Award.

EGOT winner Mel Brooks and editor Carol Littleton will also receive honorary Oscars at the Academy’s 14th Governors Awards event on November 18. In addition, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award will go to the Sundance Institute’s Michelle Satter.

“The Academy’s Board of Governors is thrilled to honor four trailblazers who have transformed the film industry and inspired generations of filmmakers and movie fans,” Academy President Janet Yang said. “Across her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting.”

Yang continued, “Mel Brooks lights up our hearts with his humor, and his legacy has made a lasting impact on every facet of entertainment. Carol Littleton’s career in film editing serves as a model for those who come after her. A pillar of the independent film community, Michelle Satter has played a vital role in the careers of countless filmmakers around the world.”

AMPAS nominated Angela Bassett for Best Supporting Actress in 2023 for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She also garnered a Best Actress nod in 1994 for playing Tina Turner in the What’s Love Got to Do with It biopic.

During her five-decade run in Hollywood, Angela Bassett appeared in other films such as Boyz n the Hood, Malcolm X, Waiting to Exhale, Notorious, and Avengers: Endgame. She has won numerous industry awards, including multiple Golden Globe Awards and NAACP Image Awards.

FLO Named MTV’s Global Push Artist

British girl group FLO had a big week. MTV selected the trio of Stella Quaresma, Jorja Douglas and Renée Downer as the brand’s latest Global Push Artist.

FLO scored a hit in the U.K. with “Cardboard Box” in 2022. This year saw the release of the “Fly Girl” single featuring Missy Elliott.

“The way we attack songwriting on production is we’ll go into a session with the producer. We’ll talk about the kind of vibe we want to do and might bring a song to reference,” Stella Quaresma explained during an interview with MTV.

Downer added, “What it sounds like in the beginning compared to what it sounds like now, is completely different. But when you listened to the original demo, which we weren’t even singing on, you can just hear the potential.”

FLO joins a list of previous Global Push Artists that includes Latto, Shenseea, Muni Long, Saucy Santana, Armani White and Ice Spice. Additionally, FLO was up for three nominations at Sunday night’s BET Awards, including Best New Artist and Best New International Act.

“I don’t feel famous and I think it’s partly because we’re together and we always have been. This bubble is the same and even though things change around us, this is going to maintain and remain normal,” Quaresma told MTV. “But it’s amazing to see the support we have and how amazing everything’s been.”

Gunna Thanks His Fans For The Success Of ‘A Gift & A Curse’ Album

Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens released his fourth studio album, A Gift & a Curse, on June 16. The project arrived six months after Gunna pled guilty in a Georgia racketeering case involving Young Thug’s YSL label.

Several high-profile people in Hip Hop culture blasted Gunna for supposedly “snitching” on Thug and his other co-defendants. Some observers wondered if those allegations would hurt the sales of A Gift & a Curse.

When the final numbers came in, A Gift & a Curse opened at No. 3 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart. Gunna’s latest full-length music effort pulled in 85,000 units in its opening week of release.

That 85,000 first-week total is a decline from previous Gunna projects. 2020’s Wunna debuted at No. 1 with 111,000 first-week units. 2022’s DS4Ever also debuted at No. 1 with 150,00 first-week units.

Despite the sales decrease from DS4Ever last year, the Atlanta-bred rapper celebrated the initial commercial success of A Gift & a Curse. He took to Instagram Stories to show appreciation to his followers.

“Thanks to my fans, [I love you],” wrote Gunna on Monday (June 26). The YSL Records/300 Entertainment recording artist also posted some of the accomplishments connected to A Gift & a Curse.

For example, A Gift & a Curse did land at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart. Gunna also pointed out that A Gift & a Curse reportedly pulled in the most first-week units for an album with no features since 2021.

While she acknowledged Bus-A-Bus is “always on some animated type stuff,’ Missy Elliott revealed her favorite Busta Rhymes verse is their 2005 hit collab, “Touch It.” Or as Missy put it, “the time Busta decided he wanted to try to get sexy on a track.” She branded the song “amazing,” praising him for his versatility.

Missy Elliott Credits Busta Rhymes With Paving The Way

Nas Back In The Studio After “Creative Growth Spurt”

Despite releasing three full-length albums in three years, Nas is showing no signs of slowing down, stating he hasn’t experienced form like this in two decades.

During a candid interview with Vanity Fair published Monday (Jun. 26), Nas reflected on the impact of Hip-Hop ahead of the 50-year anniversary and revealed that much like Hip-Hop, he is in his element right now.

“I’m in one of these creative growth spurts,” the Grammy Award-winning rapper declared. “It’s something that I’m really excited about and it surprises me – but I’m not too, too surprised because I was also waiting for the day that I felt like this again, and I knew it would come.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CsFCivjhFuq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MjAxZDBhZDhlNA==

He also revealed he’s back in the studio recording with a consistency he hasn’t experienced in 20 years.

“I’m recording now, so we’ll see what happens,” Nas replied when asked if he would recreate a project like his Hit-Boy-assisted King’s Disease trilogy. “I feel really good about that and I don’t wanna stop it once it’s flowing the way it’s flowing. It feels very free and I just wanna see what happens as I stick to it. And I’ve been sticking to it and it’s been my whole life now. Like, if I’m recording, I don’t do anything else really.

According to the NYC legend, “It hasn’t been this way for me for probably 20 years. I think that’s what I think today, maybe tomorrow I think about, well, actually accurately seven years, or since I’ve been really in the studio, but when it comes in my head now, it’s been that long—20 years.”

Nicki Minaj Says “Free Young Thug”

During her IG Live, the NYC icon gave Young Thug his flowers highlighting his impact on Hip-Hop.

“We can’t not have Thug,” she declared. “I didn’t realize, and I think a lot of people didn’t realize how important Young Thug is to the culture of rap. We really need him home. This man is a different level of talent.”

She also revealed Juice WRLD gave her the song “years ago” while they were in the studio with Thug. She recalled the song “gave me a reggae feel,” and she marveled at how Young Thug “sounded like a Jamaican artist and a Southern artist” simultaneously.

According to Nicki Minaj, they struggled to get clearance, and the song didn’t see the light of day. However, Thug’s people reached out two weeks ago, and she “fell in love” with the track all over again. After “a bunch of changes to make it cleaner,” the song eventually made it to Metro’s tracklist.

Nicki Minaj also praised “Young Money’s own Drizzy Drake” for doing what “had to be done” on his BUSINESS IS BUSINESS verse. “They both bodied, but you could just tell Drizzy had something to prove with that muthafuckin verse,’ she added. “I didn’t think I was gonna get the bar-heavy Drake.”

Kodak Black Released From Jail On $250K Bond After Short Stint Behind Bars

Kodak Black ended up behind bars briefly, despite his attorney successfully dismissing the most recent warrant for his client’s arrest.

According to TMZ, Kodak Black spent under an hour in jail after failing to comply with the conditions of his pretrial release program. He reportedly skipped out on mandatory drug and alcohol testing in early June of 2023.

The rapper’s lawyer Bradford Cohen appeared in court Monday (Jun. 26) and persuaded the judge to remove the pretrial supervision conditions. However, the judge also increased his $75,000 bond to $250,000. The new ruling meant Kodak Black had to repeat the jail booking process Cohen told the outlet.

Yak was in and out of jail within an hour after stumping up the $175k bond increase. His bond relates to a July 2022 arrest. Cops allegedly busted the rapper with 31 oxycodone pills and $75,000 in cash during a traffic stop.

However, his attorney claims Kodak Black was “overcharged” as he has a prescription for the pills cops discovered last year. He said the rapper “does so much good, sometimes anonymously” and shared his frustrations about how the state handled the case.

He shared a clip of Kodak Black reportedly handing out dirt bikes to kids in Broward County, in his native Florida. Check out his post below.

The legal mishap comes amid concern from fans over the rapper’s health. On Sunday night (Jun. 25), Kodak Black hopped on Instagram Live, looking disheveled and rambling virtually incoherently. In a clip, the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker sits shirtless on the floor while making frenetic movements with his hands.

Drake Awarded Key To Shelby County, Memphis After Making Shelby Drive Famous

Drake has received the key to Memphis, or Shelby County, specifically (where the city is located), his second home and the place he spent his childhood summers.

The Toronto native’s father is from the city, and Drizzy frequently shouts out the 901 in his lyrics. Now, the county has returned that love, rewarding Drake with the keys to the county.

Shelby County Chairman Mickell Lowery presented the honor on Jun. 26, telling the Hip-Hop superstar, “We love our own. Memphis music touches the world. You got a lot of Memphis blood in you and you’re definitely touching the world.”

He thanked Drake for “putting Memphis all in your music on the map,” adding, “This one should be close to your heart because it’s from 901.”

The Chairman noted the county only awards such distinctions to “our own that we love dearly.” Drake then jokingly asked his father who was capturing the moment on camera, “Dad you got this yet?”

Dennis Graham quipped, “They gave me the key to the hotel down the street.”

After accepting the award, Drake donning a shirt with the slogan “The famous cousin,” told the chairman, “It’s family.” Check out the clip below.

Earlier this month, Dennis Graham opened up about his son’s childhood, noting some of the star’s favorite memories are from the summers they spent together on Appleville Street, located off the same Shelby Drive Drake pays homage to in his music. Most notably, Drake shouted out “901 Shelby Drive” on “Look Alive,” his collaboration with Memphis native BlocBoy JB.

“He tells people ‘I’m from Memphis,'” Dennis told local outlet abc24, during Jun. 9 interview. “He’ll tell you in a second. ‘I’m from Memphis. That’s my home.’”

EXCLUSIVE: Young Thug Denies Claim Of Providing Info On Murder To Cop From Back Of Police Car

Embattled rap star Young Thug has filed a motion to suppress evidence prosecutors wish to introduce in his upcoming trial.

The rapper, charged with several counts related to a racketeering case, asserts that the prosecution and its witnesses may wrongly claim that he provided information on an undisclosed murder case.

Young Thug’s motion centers on the claim that he was placed in the back of a police car and gave information about a murder to an officer identified as Detective Quinn.

“The prosecution and some of its witnesses, including, but not limited to, Detective Quinn, may wrongly state that Mr. Jeffery Williams was in the back of their police car at some point and gave information on a Murder case. Same is untrue,” Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel declared.

His legal team argues that this assertion is inaccurate and irrelevant to the trial, putting Young Thug’s character into question. Thugger’s attorney argues that the presumed interaction with law enforcement supposedly occurred when the rapper was “young.”

And, while the prosecution has voiced concerns about witness intimidation, Young Thug’s team claims that the prosecutors are engaging in such tactics.

His legal team insists that witnesses have been pressured by the prosecution and are reluctant to testify truthfully at the trial. They argue that no witness can testify to inadmissible evidence or speculate about another individual’s demeanor or reason for not participating in the case.

Young Thug’s legal issues stem from his indictment for conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act and participation in a criminal street gang in May of 2022.

Prosecutors later added six felony charges in August of 2022, alleging that Young Thug’s YSL Records served as a front for a dangerous street gang.

Over two dozen YSL members, including rapper Gunna, were indicted for racketeering. Eight members, including Gunna, have taken plea deals.
