Saturday night it was history celebrating history as Atlanta belonged to Grammy nominated star Jeezy. He performed to a sold out house at the iconic Fox Theatre (the show sold out day it went on sale) and the crowd, who rapped all of the lyrics with him, showed love to their city’s own in an incredible way. As he was celebrating the 10 year anniversary of his classic debut (on a major label) album, Thug Motivation 101, he was joined by his friends to help him celebrate.
Performing the classic album in its entirety, Jeezy also wanted to remind the crowd that he has other huge hits. He ran through a string of classics, including “I Do,” with Andre 3000 joining him on stage, “Love In The Club,” with Usher on stage, “Put On” with Kanye West joining him on stage and more. Other artists who graced the stage included Big Boi, Mannie Fresh, Lloyd, Bun B, T.I. and Lil’ Scrappy. There was even a Boyz N Da Hood reunion! Almost all of Atlanta showed up and showed out in celebration of Jeezy’s 10 years of success. ATLiens brought the house down! Other celebs who came out included Monica, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri and more.
Jeezy kicked off his 10th anniversary weekend with a private dinner to honor his accomplishments as well as relaunch his charity, Street Dreamz Foundation, on Friday. The dinner brought out everyone from the Mayor of Atlanta to other artists and key influencers. Mayor Kasim Reed gave Jeezy the highest honor a city can give. On Saturday morning, Jeezy and Street Dreamz Foundation organized a community event to help clean up a neighborhood in the 4th District. Check out photos from the classic concert below.
