Taylor Gang's Berner and Weedmaps Team Up to Create Marijuana.com

TAYLOR GANG’S BERNER HAS A NEW BUSINESS VENTURE, CHECK IT OUT HERE!

Kicking off the New Year in typical Taylor Gang form, Taylor Gang rapper and San Francisco rap vet, Berner, is teaming up with Weedmaps for a new business venture in response to Instagram and Facebook’s recent crack down on accounts.

Hoping to start the “Instagram of Marijuana” on Marijuana.com, Weedmaps and Berner are hoping their new partnership will transform Marijuana.com into the definitive social platform and identity for cannabis businesses, key figures, and enthusiasts.

“I was one of the accounts that got deleted. I was fortunate enough to get my account back but many other community members have not been so lucky. This community is special to me and we believe in this plant and now Marijuana.com will unite and bring our people together,” Berner said.

The platform will look and function similarly to Pinterest or Instagram, in addition to a “Powered by Weedmaps.com” rating and review system for strains, shops and medical dispensaries.

Dispensaries, brands, artists and consumers will be allowed to create profiles for free and post their favorite marijuana related content with no fear of censorship.

In recent months, popular social media sites like Facebook and Instagram have begun deleting marijuana-related accounts reported by users for policy violations.

Both social networks view cannabis as a “drug” and many marijuana businesses have lost accounts and followers because of this crackdown.

The site was designed to make the average consumer feel comfortable sharing their love of cannabis without violating a Facebook or Instagram Term of Service (ToS).

Berner, who is currently signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint is the progenitor of the famed Cookies marijuana strains, and images of the strain caused Instagram to actually delete his accounts, thus the impetus for this new joint venture

“Berner is a perfect partner for us because he’s not just a rapper looking to profit off the industry — he is deeply passionate about marijuana legalization and someone that has known, loved and respected marijuana since long before there was even an ‘cannabis industry’,” Weedmaps.com Co-Founder and CEO Justin Hartfield stated.

In addition to the site’s social aspect, the brand will continue to cover cannabis as a media outlet, expand into events, and start a documentary series.
