(AllHipHop News) Apparently USC and UCLA are the places to go school if your dad was a famous rapper and you’re looking to make it to the NFL or NBA.
First Master P’s son, Lil Romeo, played basketball at USC. Then Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, made UCLA ‘s football team as a cornerback. Then, Snoop’s son, Cordell Broadus, was offered a scholarship to UCLA shortly after that.
Now reports are surfacing that Nate Dogg’s son, born Naijiel Hale, is considering taking a football scholarship to USC too.
While fans of Nate Dogg still remember his uncanny ability to sing hooks, his son is making his own strides on the football fields receiving interest from a host of schools including Arizona, Cal, Oregon, Arizona State and the aforementioned USC.
Hale is reportedly ranked in the top 25 of all cornerbacks in the nation as part of the 2014 class, and he’s ranked in the top 25 of all ranked players from the state of California.
“I’m not sure right now (about committing),” Hale said. “I don’t even know. It may be, it may not be. It’s more about getting it first.”
Most recently in Snoop Lion’s new movie, Reincarnated, Snoop elaborates on his relationship with Nate Dogg and the loss he suffered losing one of the founding members of the legendary West Coast tri, 213 (Nate Dogg, Warren G and Snoop Dogg).
The singer and rapper, born Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, passed away just over two years ago on March 15, 2011 after suffering from complications with repeated strokes and cardiac arrest.
