From getting discovered by Meek Mill on Instagram in May 2016 to producing three tracks on the RIAA Certified Gold album, Wins and Losses, Boston producer Papamitrou has had a busy 2018. While juggling his last year of audio engineering courses at Husson University, producing Dave East’s entire upcoming mixtape and releasing his first beat tape to all of the major digital streaming platforms, he still found the time to start a viral #FreeMeekMillProducerChallenge.

Even with the success of Wins and Losses, my name isn’t mentioned when people talk about the new wave of major producers. I’m an underdog so I have to do things everybody else isn’t doing to earn the respect that I deserve.”

The 22 year old released an 8 track beat tape called Papamitrou Boi to show that he’s been working over time. A few days after the drop, he took to Instagram to liberate a beat that featured a crowd chanting “Free Meek Mill.” He then challenged other producers to sample crowds chanting “Free Meek Mill” and post them on Instagram to support the controversially incarcerated Philly rapper.
