21 Savage’s “American Dream” Holds Onto No. 1 Spot For Second Week

The project ties the rapper’s longest run in the pole position.

21 Savage still has the most popular album in America. The London-born, Atlanta-raised rap star’s American Dream remained in the Billboard 200 chart’s top spot for back-to-back weeks.

American Dream debuted at No. 1 on last week’s Billboard 200 with 133,000 album-equivalent units. 21 Savage added another 78,000 units in the project’s second week of release.

That 78,000 amount was enough for 21 to hold off Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (63,000 units) from taking the lead. Drake’s For All the Dogs (53,000 units) rose one position to No. 3.

American Dream became 21 Savage’s fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Previously, he reached the pinnacle of the rankings with 2019’s I Am > I Was, 2020’s Savage Mode II and 2022’s Her Loss.

Only I Am > I Was also managed to stay at No. 1 for more than one week. The Grammy-nominated studio LP secured a two-week run as the Billboard 200 chart leader.

21 Savage heads into the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on February 4 with six nominations. His collaborative project, Her Loss, with Drake made it into the Best Rap Album category.

In addition, the duo’s “Rich Flex” picked up nods for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. Savage has one Grammy victory in his career. “a lot” featuring J. Cole won Best Rap Song in 2020.

American Dream includes guest appearances by Doja Cat, Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Summer Walker and more. 21 Savage got a promotional boost for his album thanks to an interview with Club Shay Shay.
