(AllHipHop News) Miami based Hip-Hop label Slip-N-Slide records has announced the signing of San Diego rapper/surfer girl Chloe. Chloe dropped a mixtape last year titled “Free PXXXY,” along with a video of herself walking down the streets of Los Angeles is nothing but a bikini. According reps for Slip-N-Slide, the San Diego-based former go-go dancer/rapper is working on a new album titled Hollywood Playground that’s due to be released this summer. Slip-N-Slide is known for breaking acts like Rick Ross, Trina, Trick Daddy and others. Check out Chloe’s video “B**ch In The Back” below.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been tapped to sing the national anthem at this year’s Kentucky Derby. Mary J. Blige will sing the anthem at the 138th annual event, which will take place at Churchhill Downs. Mary J. will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” around 5:10pm, right after the running of the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, which precedes the actual Kentucky Derby. The event and Mary J.’s performance will be broadcast live on NBC from 4-7PM on Saturday, May 5.
Rapper Scarface has announced plans to release a new album. According to Scarface, his new album Rooted is slated to be released sometime this summer. The rapper made the announcement via Twitter yesterday (April 24). “s/o to everybody that can see this…. The new album title is “Rooted” releasing early this summer thanks for you patience.. Out…,” Scarface tweeted. An official release date for Scarface’s new album Rooted was not available as of press time. Scarface, who has not released an album since 2006’s Emeritus, thanked those who have kept up the pressure for him to make new material, since his retirement. “To all the hip hop sites bloggers and people that won’t let me fu**in’ DIE I love the f**k out of y’all I swear #salute.”
