André 3000 surprised Atlanta with a flute performance and Big Boi reunion in a parking lot.

André 3000 held a surprise flute performance in an Atlanta parking lot, which ended in a reunion with Big Boi.

The unannounced appearance took place off Metropolitan Parkway, where the Outkast icon casually strolled in, flute in hand, and began playing for a small but quickly growing crowd.

According to 11Alive, André 3000 not only played his signature instrument but also posed for photos and chatted with attendees. The biggest surprise came when Big Boi showed up, marking a rare public reunion between the two Atlanta legends.

The moment was captured on video and quickly circulated across Instagram and Twitter, with many expressing joy at seeing the duo together again. Though they didn’t perform any Outkast tracks, their presence alone was enough to stir excitement.

From Tokyo subways to New York sidewalks, André 3000 has been spotted playing his flute in unexpected places.

In a 2023 interview with NPR, Andre explained his shift away from rapping, saying, “Sometimes it feels inauthentic for me to rap because I don’t have anything to talk about in that way.”

His Grammy-nominated instrumental album, 2023’s New Blue Sun, marked a new chapter in his artistic journey. The project, entirely flute-based, was met with curiosity and acclaim, even landing him on The New York Times critics’ lists. He followed up with an all piano album, 7 piano sketches, earlier this year.

Outkast’s recent Rock Hall induction only amplified interest in the duo’s legacy. Their influence on Hip-Hop, especially in the South, remains unparalleled.
