(AllHipHop News) United States Senator Bernie Sanders recently sat with Killer Mike to chat about a gang of topics, including the 2020 presidential election, healthcare, drug prices, wealth, and more.
Off the rip, rapper, businessman, and activist Killer Mike, born Michael Render, praised Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
“You are a person who I’ve known for the last three or four years of my life. I can honestly say your integrity compels and propels me to keep supporting you.”
The 10-minute video sees the pair having a candid conversation covering personal topics such as Medicare for all and student debt.
Killer Mike, who is passionate about guns, it’s just as concerned about the state of health care in America.
“I have two friends that have died… because of lack of health care. Black people are more disproportionately affected by diabetes than any other group,” Killer Mike said. “So when you say diabetes and talking about free healthcare, I want people who look like me on the other side of the camera to recognize that that is a black issue.”
Mike also said Bernie Sanders had such immense support because of his commitment to working-class issues.
“Kids in hip-hop come from working-class and poor environments,” which Bernie Sanders platform represents according to Killer Mike.
