Blueface’s legal troubles got more complicated on Thursday (February 1). A Las Vegas judge issued a bench warrant for the controversial rapper, who’s already in custody in Los Angeles County.
The 27-year-old artist was hit with the bench warrant for violating his probation in a shooting case. Last month, he was arrested for violating his probation in a separate assault case in Los Angeles County.
Blueface’s mother Karlissa Saffold blamed Chrisean Rock and Jaidyn Alexis for his legal issues in Los Angeles County. He was on probation in California for assaulting a bouncer in 2021.
According to CBS affiliate KLAS, Blueface’s attorney Kristina Wildeveld said his Las Vegas probation violation stemmed from a December 2023 incident in Utah. Footage showed him pulling a woman on stage and ordering his on-again, off-again girlfriend Jaidyn Alexis to attack the woman at a show.
Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, intends to surrender to authorities in Las Vegas once he gets out of jail in Los Angeles County. He is scheduled to be released on July 2.
“We are working with Mr. Porter to resolve the bench warrant,” his lawyer told NBC affiliate KSNV. “He is anxious to resolve all of his legal issues and focus on his family and his career.”
Last year, Blueface was sentenced to probation for his role in a 2022 shooting outside a Las Vegas strip club. He received a suspended sentence of two to five years. He now faced the threat of serving that time behind bars due to the probation violation.
Blueface was originally charged with attempted murder for the Las Vegas shooting. He agreed to a plea deal, which reduced his charges to battery and discharging a firearm at or into an occupied structure. The shooting victim said he “lost faith in the justice system” at Blueface’s sentencing.
