It appears Cardi B season will begin tomorrow (March 1). After her diehard fans took part in the #WhereIsCardi campaign online, the Bronx-raised rap star announced her official return with new music.
The Bardi Gang fanbase spent days advancing #WhereIsCardi on social media platforms like X, Instagram and TikTok. As a result, Cardi B’s most faithful followers helped get the promotional hashtag trending.
“YA FOUND ME. Like What freestyle FRIDAY [microphone emoji],” Cardi B tweeted at 7 pm ET on Wednesday (February 28) in response to her supporters asking about her whereabouts.
Cardi’s “Like What Freestyle” will be her first release as a lead artist since “Bongos” in September 2023. That Megan Thee Stallion-assisted collaboration peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 3 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.
With a new tune set to hit DSPs on Friday (March 1), speculation about Cardi B’s long-delayed sophomore album will likely ramp up. The Grammy Award winner’s debut studio LP, Invasion of Privacy, came out in 2018.
Offset’s recent Instagram Story post helped accelerate talk about his wife’s next body of work possibly arriving soon. Earlier this month, the Atlanta, Georgia native told Cardi to stop being scared to drop the project.
