Drake fired back at T-Pain’s criticism, accusing the “Bartender” hitmaker of long-held resentment after being called out for not following his own advice.
The back-and-forth started when T-Pain appeared on the “Crash Dummies” podcast and reflected on a past conversation with Drake about knowing when to step away from music.
“One thing I learned from Drake, here’s the crazy thing, the one thing I learned from but one thing he hasn’t followed — his own words. Drake said, ‘I want to be one of those people that gracefully bow out and not get kicked out,'” T-Pain said.
He went on to say he took that advice to heart and slowed down his output, while Drake, in his view, keeps trying to win over listeners.
“No, listen, I got another one,” he said, mimicking Drake’s approach. “Hold on, check this out. Y’all ain’t like that one? OK, real quick, just one more. Let me try one more.”
T-Pain didn’t stop there. He suggested Drake had become the very artist he once said he didn’t want to be.
“And I learned that from him,” he said. “I’m not trying to impress y’all n#####. Y’all n##### don’t give a f### if I live or die! Why the f### would I keep trying to impress y’all n#####? I’m out! I’m done; I did everything that I was trying to do.”
Drake, clearly unimpressed, responded to T-Pain’s comments on Instagram.
“This guy always had resentment for me,” he wrote. “You can hear it every time he speaks on my name.”

Offset also chimed in, defending Drake and calling out T-Pain’s remarks. “Da boy is da boy s### ain’t gone change all dat,” he wrote. “Hating on another grown man who do more number than everybody is Diobolical !!!!”
