Family In Maine Grateful For Generous Act By Rapper DMX

Rap star DMX paid it forward in shock a family with his act of kindness over the weekend.

(AllHipHop News) Rap star DMX unexpectedly helped out a family over the weekend, as they were shopping for back-to-school clothes.

DMX, born Earl Simmons, was in the Maine Mall on Saturday to get some new gear for his show that evening.

The rapper, who is preparing for his show at Rock Row in Westbrook on Saturday, was in the checkout line at Journey’s when a spirit of generosity overcame him.

As he was checking out, DMX decided to buy the sneakers Nikki Cutchens was buying for her daughter Grace, as the 7th grader heads back to school.

“I was actually having a really hard time picking out shoes, like, I could not figure out which ones I wanted,” Grace said. “And then we went in that store, and I found the shoes that I wanted, and we just happened to go pay for them and it happened. They’re technically his shoes. That’s what I’m going to say. I have DMX’s shoes.”

The rapper, who has 15 children of his own, also splurged on a pair of kicks for Grace’s sister, who is enrolled in college in Portland, Maine.

Grace’s mother Nikki was thrilled to meet DMX, and was extremely thankful for his kindness.

“I guess you feel lucky, you know? We really got this special moment that not many people get, and he saved me a little money on school shoes, so I can’t argue with that. We are totally grateful,” Nikki Cutchens said.
