FBG Duck

Six men were convicted of FBG Duck’s 2020 murder in Chicago, concluding a trial that lasted roughly three months.

A Chicago jury convicted six O-Block gang members for the fatal shooting of FBG Duck on Wednesday (January 17). According to the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, the six defendants were found guilty of murder.

FBG Duck, whose real name was Carlton Weekly, was shot and killed outside a Chicago store in August 2020. His girlfriend and another shopper were wounded in the shooting.

One of the shooters, Charles Liggins, was convicted on five of seven counts. Jurors found Liggins guilty of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, using a weapon in the deadly shooting and injuring the late rapper’s girlfriend. The 32-year-old man was found not guilty of charges regarding the other shopper.

The getaway drivers, Kenneth Roberson and Tacarlos Offerd, were convicted of five counts. Roberson avoided convictions on the same two counts as Liggins. Offerd was found not guilty of two counts connected to the shooting of FBG Duck’s girlfriend.

Marcus Smart, another shooter, was found guilty of five counts. Jurors cleared him of shooting FBG Duck’s girlfriend.

Christopher Thomas, yet another shooter, was convicted of three counts in FBG Duck’s murder. The jury found him not guilty on charges related to the other two victims.

Ralph Turpin, the man who called the O-Block members to attack FBG Duck, was found guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. All six men face life in prison.

FBG Duck’s mother LaSheena Weekly reportedly had tears in her eyes in the courtroom. She celebrated the verdict on social media.

“GUILTY,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “ALL THEY ASS IS GUILTY.”

Weekly jumped on Instagram Live after leaving the courtroom. A reporter caught up with her for comments on the verdict.

“They’re done,” she said. “The whole crew. O-Block and everything of it.”

Weekly told viewers she would host a “justice served” party in honor of her son on Wednesday night.
