(AllHipHop News) Rap artist Foxy Brown is mounting a public defense of her former boss Russell Simmons. In response to multiple rape and sexual misconduct accusations against the Def Jam co-founder, Brown posted an open letter about the situation on Instagram.
The Ill Na Na album creator wrote:

Attesting to the character of the man who,
as a teenager saved my life.
Salaciousness and scandal garners headlines.
Cowards cower, during times of tumult.
But as inarguably, Russell’s biggest Def Jam
female protege, (who birthed an era of overtly evocative stars), the man I’ve known and loved,
was nothing more than the respectful, respected, gentleman and GODFATHER OF HIP-HOP
we’ve all adored.

Simmons has denied various women’s allegations are true. The entrepreneur/author did step down from his companies in November after accusations first became public.
