(AllHipHop News) The organizers of the Fyre Festival continue to face legal drama over their failed attempt at presenting a music event.
Rolling Stone reports a sixth lawsuit has been filed against the fest’s co-founders Jeffrey “Ja Rule” Atkins and Billy McFarland.
North Carolina residents Kenneth and Emily Reel filed the suit.
The Reels paid $4,600 for a VIP villa.
However, the couple never actually made it to The Bahamas because they were reportedly stranded at a Miami airport after the festival was canceled following the horrible conditions of the scheduled first day.
Kenneth and Emily Reel are suing Fyre organizers, the festival’s PR agency 42West, and advertising company Matte Projects for $5 million.
The lawsuit also mentions Fyre’s lawyers reportedly sending cease-and-desist letters to people that disparaged the festival on social media.
“Specifically, if the social media comments were not taken down, the Defendants claim they could ‘incite violence, rioting, or civil unrest,’ with the caveat that if ‘someone innocent does get hurt as a result … Fyre Festival will hold you accountable and responsible,'” states the Reels’ complaint.
Among the open cases against Ja Rule and the Fyre organizers is a $100 million class action lawsuit which is being spearheaded by celebrity attorney Mark Geragos.
