Jim Jones Claims He Started Rap Rockstar Fashion Trend 20 Years Ago

Jim Jones shared an explainer for devotees of the Rap Rockstar lifestyle, “just [in case] u don’t know why u on it now.” 

Jim Jones claims he caused a shift in Hip-Hop fashion by starting the Rap Rockstar trend two decades ago.  

According to Capo, the style he and Julez Santa pioneered is now more prevalent than ever. He took to Instagram Wednesday (January 231) to declare his place in Hip-Hop fashion history. he also explained the symbolism behind some of his Rap Rockstar elements. 

He posted a 20-year-old photo of himself wearing a leather jacket, pocket chain and belt adorned with a rhinestone-encrusted skull. 

“I been on it just [in case] u don’t know why u on it now,” Jim Jones wrote. “I caused a shift in [the] rap fashion [that’s] even more prevalent now [than] it was when we started it. 

Tagging his fellow Dipset rapper, Jones broke down the meaning behind the “skull & bone” Rap Rockstar lifestyle.  

“The Skull represents all of our falling soldiers,” he explained. The Chain gang(wallet chain) represents all of our soldiers locked up. 

“Just incase u didn’t know th true definition of wht ur representing when u got tht fly sh!t on,” he added, before urging fans, “Stay fly my friends.”

Drake praised Jim Jones and Dipset for being trendsetters after bringing them out during his takeover at The Apollo last January. Drizzy founder rocked Cam’ron’s infamous pink fur coat during the set and was gifted a custom OVO x Dipset bracelet.
