Kanye West’s Dentist Confirms No Teeth Removed After Playboi Carti’s Titanium Grill Text Reveal

Kanye West

No, Kanye West didn’t remove his teeth in the name of being fresh.

Playboi Carti’s Instagram post shouting out Kanye West was really just a soft launch for Ye’s new permanent grills.

On Wednesday (January 17), Carti shared a screenshot of a text thread featuring a selfie of West donning a singular molded metallic girl with fang-like detailing on the incisors. According to the DailyMail, West’s new titanium mouthpieces reportedly cost “more than diamonds” with a price tag of $850,000.

“MY BIG BROTHER N### CAN’T TELL ME S### ABOUT U,” Carti wrote in the caption of the post.

The procedure was reportedly done by Dr. Thomas Connelly and dental technician Naomi Hayashi in Beverly Hills, days after Bianca Censori’s Las Vegas birthday celebrations. Connelly said Ye was great to work with in a statement and described the dental work as art.

“Ye was a pleasure to work with every step of the process,” he said. “His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new lok that is epic.”

Connelly revealed in another statement that Ye “did not have his teeth removed” and still maintains “full dentition” of his teeth and is “healthy and happy” following the procedure. In a separate Instagram post, Ye appeared to reference the James Bond film universe villain “Jaws” as the inspiration behind his new set of chops.
