No More Drama: Mary J. Blige Back On Lovers & Friends Lineup

Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige left fans worried after she said she was not appearing on the Lovers and Friends lineup. But things have changed!

Mary J. Blige’s recent saga with the Lovers and Friends festival has come to a close after some initial confusion. Blige claimed she was included on the line-up for the Lovers & Friends festival in “error.”

The “No More Drama” singer took to her Instagram Stories to insist that she would not be performing at the Las Vegas festival – despite her inclusion on the line-up poster.

“I am beyond humbled by the response from all of you about the announcement of me on Lovers & Friends Festival,” she wrote. “Unfortunately my inclusion was an error as I will be busy in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later! I have the greatest fans in the world and can’t wait to see you in New York in a few short months!”

Despite her message, her name remained on the poster for the R&B and Hip-Hop festival. Organizers later posted footage of Mary J. Blige performing at the Super Bowl and wrote, “THE QUEEN OF R&B HERSELF, MARY J BLIGE! we can’t wait to see her perform in vegas @therealmaryjblige.”

When fans expressed confusion about the mixed messages, the organizers insisted she is still on the line-up. “Yes she will be here! She took down the post. See you in Vegas,” they wrote in a comment.

And finally, Mary J. Blige herself has cleared up the confusion as well after she confirmed she is officially added back to the lineup. The change not only reinstated her performance but also elevated her placement on the promotional materials, recognizing her iconic status in the music world.

Lovers & Friends takes place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on May 4. The star-studded line-up also includes Janet Jackson, Usher, Backstreet Boys, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Ciara, Nelly and more.

The following week, Mary J. Blige will host her Strength of a Woman festival and summit, named after her 2017 song and album, to empower women around the world to reach their highest potential.

It takes place over Mother’s Day weekend on May 11 and 12.
