Antwan Kevin Baker, who is accused of stalking
hip-hop entrepreneur Master P, will stand trial for stalking and making criminal
threats. Prosecutors in the case say that Baker began stalking P in 1999. He
confronted P at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and tried to convince
P to sign him to a recording contract and to help finance a movie.
The visits continued until Baker was arrested
in April at P’s attorney’s office. P said that when Baker arrived at his attorney’s
office, he was speaking incoherently and said that he was changing his name
to Kevin, the name of Master P’s older, deceased brother. Baker also allegedly
showed up at a number of concerts, tried to get on the rapper’s bus and attempted
to access numerous restricted areas.
Baker is being held on $200,000 bond.
