The lawsuit, which was filed in New York on Tuesday (Sept. 8), states that Playboy had the pictures copyrighted and is the exclusive licensee to the pictures. MediaTakeOut reportedly not only re-published the pictures but also put their own watermark on the photos as if they were theirs.

“Upon information and belief, defendant knowingly altered and/or falsified copyright management information to conceal defendant’s infringement of plaintiff’s registered and unregistered copyright works,” states the lawsuit.
Playboy is reportedly seeking $150,000 per each copyright infringement. The magazine also wants $25,000 per each violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
