The
Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame
will be celebrating Hip-Hop with an exhibit in February, for Black
History Month. Rhymes & Rage: The Hip Hop Story will teach
visitors about the music, language and lifestyle of hip hop culture,
exploring the history, as well as hip hop’s social, political
and economic influence on virtually every aspect of American pop
culture. The Exhibit will showcase the be-bop and spoken word
traditions of Cab Calloway in the 1930s to rap’s commercial breakthrough
in the 1980s to the political and social consciousness and controversy
of rap’s lyrical messages with Ice T, 2 Live Crew and Tupac Shakur
among others. This Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is in
Cleveland, and the Exhibit will stay until August.
