ScarLip unleashed her highly-anticipated debut mixtape Scarred B4 Fame on Friday (June 20), delivering a raw seven-track project packed with heavyweight features.
The Bronx rapper tapped Lil Wayne for the high-energy track “Pop That,” which she teased Thursday on social media, writing, “Nah @liltunechi killed this. Can’t wait for yall to hear it.”

The mixtape also includes appearances from Mary J. Blige, Skilla Baby, Tata, Honey Bxby and Anthony Hamilton.
The first single, “Runaway Love Freestyle” featuring Blige, dropped earlier this month, setting the tone for a project that blends pain, resilience and ambition.
“They say time heals everything,” ScarLip says in a promo clip. “That’s just not true. There’s still wounds and scars that will never heal.”

Swizz Beatz, who has championed ScarLip’s rise, hosted a listening party ahead of the release and praised her range and work ethic.
“People don’t develop creativity no more,” he told the crowd. “They just wear no clothes and go outside. This ain’t that. This is the real deal. Scar can do everything. As you can see, in seven songs, she checked all the boxes.”
He continued, “It’s just been amazing to see this beautiful flower blossom. I’m just so proud of you.”

ScarLip’s story is as unfiltered as her music. At 16, she was punched in the mouth by her brother while trying to enter their home. The injury left her with a permanent scar and led to her placement in foster care.
She later adopted the name ScarLip as a way to reclaim her identity and turn trauma into fuel.
Scarred B4 Fame is available now on all major streaming platforms.
