ScHoolboy Q released two songs earlier this month, but the Top Dawg Entertainment MC did not place the singles on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify.
“Back n Love” featuring Devin Malik and “Blueslides” will live on ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming Blue Lips studio LP. The album will drop on March 1, 2024, via TDE/Interscope Records.
Supporters of ScHoolboy can watch the official music videos for “Back n Love” and “Blueslides” on his YouTube channel. However, the California-based recording artist explained why the tracks have not been made streamable elsewhere.
“Why @ScHoolboyQ ain’t put these joints on streaming yet? [face with raised eyebrow emoji],” an X user asked on Tuesday (February 13).
ScHoolboy Q responded, “I’m dealing directly wit tHe fans… MARCH 1st everytHing yours.. da ppl tHat care about Q deserve a rollout [raised fist emoji] BLUELIPS.”
2024’s Blue Lips will join a ScHoolboy Q discography that contains five previous albums. The 37-year-old rapper has not put out a full-length body of work since CrasH Talk in 2019.
ScHoolboy achieved his most commercial success with 2014’s Oxymoron. That studio LP debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 139,000 first-week sales.
Oxymoron also reached platinum status. In addition, the Recording Academy nominated ScHoolboy’s third studio LP for Best Rap Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015.
The “Back n Love” video currently ranks at No. 24 in YouTube’s music trending section. ScHoolboy Q’s visuals have racked up more than 1.3 million views since its premiere. “Blueslides” amassed 870,000 views in seven days.
