Tip “T.I.” Harris finds his name being attached to serious accusations. His former family friend, Glam University Founder Sabrina Peterson, is alleging the Atlanta-based entertainer traumatized her with a firearm.
Peterson wrote on Instagram:
The sad part about being a woman & BEING A BLACK WOMAN IS THIS! The public PRAISES OUR PREDATORS! @troubleman31 you PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD IN FRONT OF CHILDREN & I NEVER CALLED THE POLICE ON YOU! But for years you have painted me as the VILLAIN! AS BLACK WOMEN! It’s hard to heal from RAPE, VIOLENCE OR ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU ARE PAINTED AS THE PROBLEM OR REASON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU! [LET’S] NORMALIZE THE ALLOWING BLACK WOMEN TO HEAL! It’s so hard being the VICTIM OF RAPE & BEING PAINTED AS THE REASON IT HAPPENED! LETS TALK! @keishabottoms
YOU CANT HAVE A PERSON THAT HAS VICTIMIZED WOMEN SPEAK FOR US! [Let’s] have a real TALK!
She later added:
What started off a comment turned into a calling! Too many victims to turn my back! I didn’t know how many women he truly hurt & didn’t know what made me finally say something. Nonetheless, I’m blessed that I did. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING, THIS ISH HAS GOTTEN REALLY REAL.
T.I.’s wife, Tiny Harris, commented on Peterson’s allegations:
Hold up… So you want your abuser to train your sons? He was just uncle 2 years ago… Now when did you say my husband assaulted you? Did you change your mind or change it back? What’s up wit you today Pooh? I’m confused. Stop Harassing My Family. You strange. Everybody know you been special (face slicing seminar lady). Please Get help. But LEAVE US ALONE!!
Peterson tagged Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in one of her IG posts. T.I. is a longtime political ally of Bottoms. The L.I.B.R.A. album creator was a member of the mayor’s 2018 transition team, and he spoke on her behalf at a press conference during the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in 2020.
In contrast, Peterson is an outspoken critic of the current mayor and a supporter of Felicia Moore, the Atlanta City Council President who is expected to run against Bottoms in the upcoming mayoral race. T.I. recently blasted Moore’s unsuccessful attempt to place restrictions on local recording studios in 2017.
