(AllHipHop News) A Tampa area school security officer is using his love of rap music to influence young people.
As the head of the Hillsborough County Bully Prevention Program, Officer Lawrence White visits elementary schools to discourage bullying among the students.
White’s approach to reach the kids is a call-and-response rap presentation.
“I’m just trying to change the mindsets of the students. That there is a way to solve any problem the right way,” he told Fox 13.
White has been a rapping since his own middle school days back in 1995.
Educators, parents and concerned citizens across the country have been finding ways to positively incorporate the popularity of Hip Hop into the school setting.
A North Carolina teacher recently created a video combining N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton” with the educational video game The Oregon Trail as a way to teach history to his middle school students.

Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA has been heavily involved with the Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S in New York City.
In addition, numerous colleges and universities now offer specific courses connected to Hip Hop acts such as 2Pac, OutKast, Kanye West, and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
