What began as Twitter jokes might actually end up becoming reality. Dionne Warwick is reportedly in contact with Teyana Taylor to discuss The Album creator potentially starring in a forthcoming show about the R&B icon.
“It runs in the family,” tweeted Warwick on December 15 with a photo of Taylor. That Twitter post later led to Warwick expressing interest in Taylor playing her in a Netflix biopic. Taylor reacted to the then-hypothetical gig by tweeting raising hands emojis and a clapper board emoji.

According to TMZ, media marketing strategist Karen Civil recently connected Warwick and Taylor by phone to discuss ideas. They apparently talked about Taylor’s The Aunties Production company producing a scripted biographical program.
Netflix does appear to be an option for hosting the possible Dionne Warwick series. Taylor starred in the streamer’s original motion picture, The After Party, which premiered in 2018. She is also part of the cast of Amazon Studios’ Coming 2 America movie.
Additionally, Taylor has directed numerous music videos under the pseudonym Spike Tee which won her a 2020 BET Award for Video Director of the Year. Her filmography as an actress also includes Madea’s Big Happy Family, The Start Up, The Breaks, Hit the Floor, and Star.
