(AllHipHop News) With all the tension taking place across the country at the moment over police brutality and violence against law enforcement, The Game and his son are looking to help a cop in Arkansas that is working to improve relations between his department and the community he serves.
Officer Tommy Norman has become a favorite online because of his mission of working with local residents. His Facebook page states, “I’m a police officer in NLR Arkansas who’s committed to changing the world!”
Norman’s call for positive community policing struck a nerve with Game and his son Harlem. The Compton rapper explained his decision to help Harlem start a GoFundMe page for Officer Norman.
“I had conversations with my oldest son [Harlem] about good cops and bad ones and he did his research and found officer [Norman’s] page,” wrote Game on Instagram. “I was touched by how active he is in the black community where he polices.”
He added, “[Harlem] developed a #GoFundMe to try and raise $50,000 and in 5 hours were over 1/2 way there…. so that officer [Norman] can continuously stuff his trunk with toys, goodies, food and other things to help him continue contributing to the kids and people in Little Rock Arkansas.”
As of press time, the crowdsourcing effort has raised over $40,000. The Game has even given $1,000 to the cause. Funds can be donated to the “A Good Son For A Good Cop” campaign at GoFundMe.
