Trae Tha Truth & DJ Mr. Rogers Provide Houston Residents With Meals, Water, Charcoal & More

The southern city was hit hard by bitterly cold weather.

Texas was battered by a brutal winter storm this week. While power has been restored in many areas, millions of residents are still facing water and heat failures as a result of the extremely unusual freezing temperatures for the state.

Houston-raised rapper/activist Trae Tha Truth and 93.7 The Beat radio personality DJ Mr. Rogers stepped up to help their community during this crisis. The Relief Gang members provided thousands of meals, water, generators, bags of charcoal, wood, and other supplies to people in the city.

“It’s bad out here man, getting hot meals is one thing, and that’s important but we are looking into what’s going to happen next week when people have to return to homes that have been flooded from burst pipes, and unloveable conditions,” says Trae. “It’s a non-stop fight for survival.”

Trae and Rogers are looking to recruit local plumbers to join them in providing services to families in need. The plan is also to have plumbing experts allow Relief Gang to compensate them directly on behalf of the residents at a discounted rate.

In addition, the two Hip Hop representatives are using their respective social media pages to urge restaurants and businesses to allow them to buy out inventories in order to deliver food items to the hardest-hit locations. Trae Tha Truth is requesting that anyone interested in helping Relief Gang to share information about their efforts on social media.
