(AllHipHop News) Ty Dolla $ign and The Black Eyed Peas are set to headline Rock The Vote’s #TruthToPower concert Wednesday night at the Filmore in Philadelphia.
#TruthToPower is a large scale pop-up art exhibition and event series launching Rock The Vote’s campaign to engage and mobilize the youth to engage in 2016’s general election.
Presented in partnership with #Cut50 and other national and community partners, the exhibition includes evocative art addressing sociopolitical issues such as police brutality, criminal reform, gun violence, reproductive rights, and access to jobs and a living wage.
The gallery and event series is produced by cultural and youth organizers TaskForce, BigBowl of Ideas, Soze, 1215 Creative and Philadelphia-native Cosmo Baker.
The exhibits include artwork from Shepard Fairley, Banksy, Tatyana Fazlalizadeh and others. There’s also an iconic, six-story “CityKids Speak on Liberty” banner created in 1986 by a partnership between The CityKids Foundation and Keith Harding, which hangs on the side of the building.
The closing night concert to be headlined by Ty Dolla $ign and The Black Eyed Peas will include performances from Mr. Sonny James and Cosmo Baker as well.
