Westside Gunn Announces Plan To Retire From Rap After 2020 Project With Madlib

The Shady Records/Roc Nation-affiliated emcee wants to go down as “one of the illest ever.”

(AllHipHop News) The Griselda collective just released their WWCD compilation album to critical acclaim. Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, and Westside Gunn were praised for their lyrical excellence.

While it appears the Buffalo representatives are a step closer to breaking out as figures on a more mainstream level, one member is already contemplating putting his pen down for good. Westside Gunn took to Instagram to confirm an upcoming project and announce his pending retirement from rap.

Madlib joined Freddie Gibbs for 2019’s Bandana which is on many Hip Hop aficionados’ shortlist for Album Of The Year. The producer and the emcee are reportedly working on another LP tentatively titled Montana. Madlib has also collaborated with J Dilla, MF Doom, Talib Kweli, M.E.D, Blu, and others on full bodies of work.
