(AllHipHop News) International superstar Will Smith was recently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to promote his new film Suicide Squad.
During a press event in the country, Smith spoke about U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump. The rapper-actor approached the Republican businessman’s controversial candidacy as a possible positive outcome for America.
“As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it’s good,” said the man once known as The Fresh Prince. “We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”
His appearance in the Muslim nation also included Smith speaking on the issue of prejudice against followers of Islam. Trump had called for a ban against Muslims entering the United States.
“In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me, that’s why it’s important to show up,” stated Smith. “I’m in Dubai and I’m having fun. I’m tweeting and showing pictures – ‘Hey, it doesn’t look like they hate me, does it?”
