Hip-Hop Rumors: Yung Berg and Masika Back Together?

A few weeks after a beatdown and they’re back at it, at least according to Instagram.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood’s Yung Berg and Masika posted pics lying in bed together as well as in the studio. Berg later deleted his pics but Masika’s remain posted. Berg is supposedly working on tracks for Masika.

Guess the assault in exchange for a few tracks was an even trade. Will Mona let Berg back on the show if Masika is willing to? SMH.

President Obama Orders Body Cams & Additional Training For Local Authorities

In the weeks following the initial shooting of Michael Brown, many within the international community called into question the amount of militarization that has occurred amongst many police forces across the country, as became evident as the Ferguson Police Department infamously met protesters with armored tanks, tear gas and assault weapons.

Now President Obama is expected to sign an executive order which will require all agencies receiving military-style equipment  be trained on how to properly use the gear. To date, more than 460,000 weapons have already been distributed to local law enforcement agencies throughout the country.

Also included in that order is the  implementation of body cameras, as the White House has pledged an additional $75 million in federal funds to equip over 50, 000 officers with body cameras; an issue that the parents of Brown have been fighting for since his death in early August.

According to Obama, “There is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement and we don’t want those lines blurred.”

Darren Wilson Won't Be Getting Severance Pay

The city of Ferguson has officially severed ties with officer Darren Wilson. Over the weekend, the officer who shot and killed unarmed teen Michael Brown resigned from the police force. When Wilson resigned he was not given a severance package, which includes any further pay and benefits, from the city.

Wilson, who had been with the Ferguson Police Department for three years, decided to part ways with the force after people had threatened to become violent towards the police department.

“The information we had was that there would be actions targeting the Ferguson (police) department or buildings in Ferguson related to the police department,” said Neil Bruntragerm who is Wilson’s lawyer.

A grand jury decided last week to not indict Wilson for shooting and killing Michael Brown on Aug. 9th. Though there will not be an indictment, the U.S. Department of Justice is conducting a civil rights investigation regarding the incident and is also investigating the police department’s practices.

Janay Rice Says Ray Rice Never Hit Her Before & Defends Him On 'The Today Show'

Now that Ray Rice has been reinstated into the NFL after being dropped from the Baltimore Ravens, his wife Janay Rice is speaking out on The Today Show with Matt Lauer. Sitting alongside her mother, Janay spoke about what her life has been like since the elevator footage of her being punched and dragged by her now-husband was released and struggling to deal with the ridicule thrown at her by the media and fans.

Prior to the incident in the elevator, where Janay says they were “high intoxicated,” she says there was never any domestic violence in their relationship.

“There’s no way. He knows what he would have to deal with. I’m not going to sit there in silence and let something happen to me, God forbid in front of my child, and just let it happen? There’s no way.”

Janay’s mother, Candy Palmer, said that she felt “sick” when she saw the footage of Ray Rice knocking her daughter out cold. She said she was very upset when she saw that he left her on the floor and didn’t show any concern for her as she laid unconscious.

“I basically told him that I didn’t care who was out there at the elevator, you should have never left her out there like that.”

Janay also said that she was not pleased with the way the NFL and the fans reacted to the second video being released, which she says she has never seen.

“I was so angry, hurt [to] seeing the man that I love, have everything ripped up from under him,” she said as she wiped away tears. “We had to pick and our child from where she’s used to…it hurt.”

Watch the interview below. Tomorrow (Dec. 2) Matt Lauer will sit down with Ray Rice and get his side of the story.

St. Louis Police Officers Association Wants St. Louis Rams Players Penalized For 'Hands Up, Don't Shoot' Gesture

UPDATE: The NFL will take no action against the players that protested the Darren Wilson/Ferguson decision.

The grand jury’s decision to not indict officer Darren Wilson in the killing of 18-year-old Mike Brown set off another wave of chaos and protests in the city. During their game against the Oakland Raiders yesterday (Nov. 30), the St. Louis Rams decided to show support to the Ferguson protesters as they marched on to the field. During the pre-game introductions, players Kenny Britt, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey entered the field in the” hands up, don’t shoot position,” which Brown was said to have been in when he was shot and killed by Wilson.

Though this demonstration was peaceful, the St. Louis Police Officers Association has now issued a statement calling for the players to be penalized and to apologize.

The St. Louis Police Officers Association is profoundly disappointed with the members of the St. Louis Rams football team who chose to ignore the mountains of evidence released from the St. Louis County Grand Jury this week and engage in a display that police officers around the nation found tasteless, offensive and inflammatory.

Five members of the Rams entered the field today exhibiting the “hands-up-don’t-shoot” pose that has been adopted by protestors who accused Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson of murdering Michael Brown. The gesture has become synonymous with assertions that Michael Brown was innocent of any wrongdoing and attempting to surrender peacefully when Wilson, according to some now-discredited witnesses, gunned him down in cold blood.

SLPOA Business Manager Jeff Roorda said, “now that the evidence is in and Officer Wilson’s account has been verified by physical and ballistic evidence as well as eye-witness testimony, which led the grand jury to conclude that no probable cause existed that Wilson engaged in any wrongdoing, it is unthinkable that hometown athletes would so publicly perpetuate a narrative that has been disproven over-and-over again.”

Roorda was incensed that the Rams and the NFL would tolerate such behavior and called it remarkably hypocritical. “All week long, the Rams and the NFL were on the phone with the St. Louis Police Department asking for assurances that the players and the fans would be kept safe from the violent protesters who had rioted, looted, and burned buildings in Ferguson. Our officers have been working 12 hour shifts for over a week, they had days off including Thanksgiving cancelled so that they could defend this community from those on the streets that perpetuate this myth that Michael Brown was executed by a brother police officer and then, as the players and their fans sit safely in their dome under the watchful protection of hundreds of St. Louis’s finest, they take to the turf to call a now-exonerated officer a murderer, that is way out-of-bounds, to put it in football parlance,” Roorda said.

The SLPOA is calling for the players involved to be disciplined and for the Rams and the NFL to deliver a very public apology. Roorda said he planned to speak to the NFL and the Rams to voice his organization’s displeasure tomorrow. He also plans to reach out to other police organizations in St. Louis and around the country to enlist their input on what the appropriate response from law enforcement should be. Roorda warned, “I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights. Well I’ve got news for people who think that way, cops have first amendment rights too, and we plan to exercise ours. I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products. It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.”

The NFL Issues Statement Regarding St. Louis Rams "Hands Up" Display

After five players from the St. Louis Rams raised their hands before a game in support of Michael Brown, the St. Louis Police Association took offense; demanding that each player be punished.

Now the NFL has released it’s own statement on the matter via its Vice President of Communications, Brian McCarthy:

“We respect and understand the concerns of all individuals who have expressed views on this tragic situation.”

For once it looks as if the league may have gotten something right.

A$AP Rocky Among Men Featured In Ferragamo's "A Man’s Story" Project

(AllHipHop News) In 1914, Salvatore Ferragamo left his home country of Italy for Boston at the age of 16 to work with one of his brothers at a local boot factory. The siblings later moved to California and opened the their own boot shop. Within five years the Ferragamo brothers became some of the most sought after footwear designers for Hollywood’s elite. Eventually that company would grow to become the internationally recognized luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo.

In celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Salvatore’s migration to the States, Ferragamo’s Spring 2015 collection will feature several contemporary men and their stories that represent “making your own rules.” The luxury goods company tapped photographer/filmmaker Francesco Carrozzin to create the new digital project A Man’s Story to coincide with the collection.

“For a man to have a vision and the courage of his convictions is both noble and timeless, as relevant today as it was a century ago when Salvatore Ferragamo went out on a limb to launch his shoe-making business,” says Ferragamo’s Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti in a statement. “Had he not have taken that risk, this brand that continues to grow and attract new generations may never have existed.”

Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky was one of the men selected for the short film and photography series. Actor Douglas Booth, New York Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist, photographer Ryan McGinley, and entrepreneurs Tyrone Wood, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, and Alexander Gilkes were also chosen for Ferragamo’s A Man’s Story.

“From A$AP Rocky to Ryan McGinley what links these young men is their single-minded approach to life. They’ve not been afraid to make their own rules, even when it’s meant potential failure. That’s what makes them so inspiring, and the stories they’ve shared with us so compelling,” added Carrozzini.

Check out photos of Carrozzin’s A Man’s Story in the gallery and the A$AP Rocky teaser below. Watch the film at ferragamo.com.

St. Louis Rams Under Fire For "Hands Up" Pose

Standing with their hands raised in the “Don’t Shoot” pose to show support of slain teen Michael Brown, five players on the St. Louis Rams made it a point to show solidarity before opening on Sunday against the Raiders.

That gesture has now caused them to come under fire, as the St. Louis Police Officers’ Association (SLPOA) is now calling for a formal apology from the NFL, as well as additional punishment for the five players in question;  Tavon Austin, Kenny Britt , Edward Jones Dome, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens and Jared Cook, who are all Black.

Explains Cook, “I just think there has to be a change,” Cook said after the Rams’ 52-0 win. “There has to be a change that starts with the people that are most influential around the world. No matter what happened on that day, no matter how the whole situation went down, there has to be a change.”

Directly across from the stadium protesters came together with chants of “No justice, no football” and “This is what democracy looks like,” as they continue to protest a decision made by the grand jury not to seek charges against Darren Wilson, who has since resigned.

Current SLPOA Business Manager Jeff Roorda released the following statement:

“I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products,” Roorda added. “It’s cops and the good people of St. Louis and other NFL towns that do. Somebody needs to throw a flag on this play. If it’s not the NFL and the Rams, then it’ll be cops and their supporters.

“I know that there are those that will say that these players are simply exercising their First Amendment rights. Well I’ve got news for people who think that way, cops have first amendment rights too, and we plan to exercise ours.”

Rams coach Jeff Fisher advised that he had on prior knowledge of the gesture.

A New York Theater Is Offering Refunds For A Bill Cosby Show

A theater in Tarrytown, N.Y is reportedly now offering refunds for two of  Bill Cosby’s upcoming shows after being pressed by people who purchased tickets to give them their money back. People began to request refunds after women began coming forward accusing the 77-year-old of rape.

At first, the Tarrytown Music Hall explained on their Facebook page that they could not cancel the show due to a contract with Cosby and the promoter, AM Productions.

“The way our business works is that a contract exists between Cosby and AM productions, the promoter, which in turn rents the Music Hall as a venue,” said the venue’s executive director Bjorn Olsson. “If AM breaks their contract with Cosby, they still have to pay him the guarantee, same thing if we break the rental contract with AM, except they would then be forced to come after us to recoup the money the owe Cosby. Since he is a very expensive artist, this would be a tremendous blow to The Music Hall, likely to force layoffs and cuts in our community programs.”

Over the weekend, the venue announced that they are now able to give patrons full refunds for the tickets they purchased.

“Mr. Cosby’s management is now allowing for refunds for any patron’s that do not wish to attend the show. Please let me know if I may cancel and refund your order,” read an email sent to ticket-buyers.

Despite the rape allegations that have been plaguing his career recently, Cosby has continued to do stand-up performances on his Far From Finished Tour. Though he may have lost fans in Tarrytown, Cosby got a standing ovation at a show in Melboure, Florida at sold-out show earlier this month.
