Hip-Hop Rumors: WTF Is The CIA Talking About Tupac For?

The government is on some sh*t! What is this supposed to mean?

They seems to take great pleasure in these little moments, basically to confuse the people. Or maybe they somehow think this is funny. Apparently, they are closing on their Twitter overall, but I didn’t bother to look.

Peter Rosenberg Apologizes To Chuck D (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Many people in the Hip Hop community including Dame Dash, Combat Jack, and Jay Electronica called out Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg publicly after the radio personality accused Public Enemy’s Chuck D of being an internet troll and not contributing to the culture in recent years. Rosenberg has now used his “The Realness” segment to apologize to the legendary emcee/activist.

The “Ebro In The Morning” co-host began his mea culpa by mentioning going to see Do The Right Thing as a child and hearing the P.E. song “Fight The Power.”

Rosenberg said in part:

That wasn’t the first time I heard Public Enemy, but that was the first time Chuck D’s voice truly affected me. So to think that 25 years later I would have a voice in this culture that some people would actually listen to a little bit is truly a blessing. Something I’m very thankful for. To have used that voice in any way to show what was perceived as public disrespect to the great Chuck D is something that I am truly regretful for.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Doe B’s Friend Murdered?

Damn. I don’t know the name of the dude, but from what I am hearing one of Doe B’s close friends was killed recently. Apparently, from what I have been told, Doe B’s friend was looking to sue a bunch of people. The club where Doe was slain was well known to have a lack of security. And that lack of security was the basis for the lawsuit and him saying that it lead to the death of the rising rap star. I was told he was also wounded when Doe was murdered. Unfortunately, I am hearing he was killed recently in another incident. I am also hearing that his death was part of an ongoing “war” in the aftermath of Doe’s death. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kanye West Gets Super Booed!!

This dude just gets it from every angle! I don’t know what to make if it anymore. This happened over the weekend at a festival in the UK. He was doing well they said, but then he started to talk about a bunch of other stuff including discrimination in the fashion industry. Well…needless to say, it didn’t go well from there. Ye and his studded mask may need a talking to about connecting with an audience at this point.

Started out ok…

Then the boos start…

Here, the crowd goes bonkers.

Here is the full speech.

I’d rather just hear Kanye spit some bars.

Will.I.Am Talks Beats by Dre/Apple Sale, Helping Start iTunes and The iPod + MORE (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) June 2015 will mark the 20th anniversary of The Black Eyed Peas and according to Will.I.Am, their storied history involves more than simply releasing music. During a recent interview with CNN, Will.i.Am discusses the recent $3 billion sale of Beats by Dre, helping start iTunes and more.

Will.I.Am has teamed up with artist Yuri Suzuki to create an exhibit for the Digital Revolution show at London’s Barbican Centre that will showcase machines While explaining the magnitude of Apple purchasing Beats by Dre for $3 billion, Will.I.Am points out a key difference between the Head of Samsung  Gregory Lee (President and CEO of Samsung USA) and Dr. Dre:

It used to be somebody from the mountains came down and said ‘Here is your new  technology’ that you never knew. He could be walking down the street and you never knew. I don’t know what the head of Samsung looks like. But, for some reason they gives me the stuff to talk to the world with. But Dr. Dre is different. You know him. You listen to his music. Now he brought you headphones.

The Black Eyed Keys will celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2015 and . In 2004, The Black Eyed Keys’ “Hey Mama” was featured in the original television commercial advertisement for Apple’s iPod, a fact Will.i.Am has not forgotten:

Ten years ago, The Black Eyed Peas launched iTunes and iPod with Apple . I remember the conversation saying, “What’s an iPod and what’s iTunes.

Common: Beef With Drake Was "An Emotional Thing" For Me & Started Over Serena Williams

(AllHipHop News) A battle between the two rappers who have made some of the most During a recent interview, Common admits that his 2011 beef with Drake started over Common’s ex-girlfriend Serena Williams.

Back in August 2011, rumors of Drake and Serena Williams dating began circulating after Drake sent out a tweet stating “ I cannot wait to put it on you and make you sweat……….during our match this weekend.” According to Common, the rumors of Drake’s relationship with his ex and concomitant publicizing of it rubbed Common the wrong way and three months later he released the inflammatory song “Sweet”:

I think that was, for me, an emotional thing. I was feeling like..at that time, I think ti was the “Drake/Serena situation” I didn’t know what was going on with that. I didn’t know if he was throwing things, shots or anything. This is my ex and we kind of going our separate. Unfortunately, the war might have been over a girl, even if at the time I never said that.

Common claims that the two squashed the beef on amicable terms. However, in a 2013 interview with XXL, Drake claimed to be the victor in the beef due to Common’s reaction to Drake’s “Stay Scheming” verse:

For you to delve into my mom and my dad’s a b#### and all that, you’re just reaching for impact moments but the bars aren’t really good, so it didn’t hit me. I never sat back and analyzed that, either. I only heard it once, and thought, ‘I think I came away with the W on that one

Solange Talks Elevator Fight W/ Jay Z, Backup Dancing For Destiny's Child + MORE

(AllHipHop News) Solange has been relatively quiet since her infamous elevator fight with Jay Z During an interview with Lucky magazine, Solange addresses the fight, speaks on how injuries and pregnancies led to her backup dancing for Destiny’s Child and releasing her debut album in 2003 and more.

During the interview, Solange simply refers to her fight with her brother-in-law Jay Z as “that thing”. While she does not address her motivation for the assault she does reassure that her family is in a good place:

What’s important is that my family and I are all good. What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.

Later in the interview it is revealed that Solange became a background dancer with Destiny’s Child in 1999 at the age of 13 after one of the original dancers became pregnant and dropped out. Solange’s own physical limitations from an injury she sustained two years later would force her to bow out as well. During her convalescence, she began writing lyrics and eventually decided to embark on her own musical journey, a decision she was not necessarily looking forward to tell her parents:

I was nervous to talk to my parents. Part of my mom was like, ‘Please be normal and get a regular job,’ because she had gone through so much with my sister. She knew how strong-willed I was and how the industry was probably not going to be the most supportive thing for a 15-year-old girl.

Solange signed with Columbia Records and released her debut album Solo Star on January 21st, 2003, less than six months before Beyonce’s solo debut album Dangerously In Love was released on Columbia as well.
