Hip-Hop Rumors: Does Stevie J Beat On Joseline? She Says…

I don’t know if Joseline got hacked or if this account is fake, but it seems like she (or somebody) claims that her husband Stevie J beats on her. I don’t watch the reality show with “Hip-Hop” in it, but I do know these two are like a Bonnie and Clyde couple. So, I’m not sure if she would air him out like that. One thing is for sure, these pics suggest that there was some activity around her face and neck being marked up. The visuals are just a bit too small for me to see. But, after going to her Twitter…it seems true.

J-Lo and Nicki Minaj Bring Girl Power to Power 106 LA’s Powerhouse 2014

Ladies ruled the night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Ca on Saturday night as Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj tore down the house at the Power 106 Powerhouse 2014. The line-up had something for everyone and featured memorable performances form Sage the Gemini, Childish Gambino, Trey Songz, Schoolboy Q, Wiz Khalifa and headliners YG and DJ Mustard but it was the queens that reigned supreme.

From the moment J-Lo emerged from the center of the circled stage to her intro of “Same Girl” and “Get Right” it was a reminder of why she was and still is Jenny from the Block. Performing classic jam’s including “I’m Real” & “Ain’t It Funny” from when she and Ja Rule ran the charts to her current hit “I luh you papi” her black leather hot pants revealed her perfectly sculpted assets as she gave a little tease of her upcoming single “Big Booty” but told the crowd “that’s all the a** you’re gonna get tonight. We won’t have to wait too much longer as the American Idol judge is preparing to release her upcoming album A.K.A on June 17. Clearly it must be the ass that got em like that because she danced her booty off her entire 30 minute set before closing with Jenny on the Block.

Without a doubt however, the crowd was definitely awaiting the arrival of the reigning Queen of Hip-Hop who is also preparing for the upcoming release of her next albumThe Pink Project, and Nicki announced her new single will be dropping this Wednesday before she took it back to the basics with one mic and a dj. Explaining why she didn’t have her usual band or dancer’s she said “ I’m not going to bring my dancers, J-Lo is there she can do that, I’m not going to bring my band because Trey Songz is there he can do that, so what can I do? So I said Fu** it! I’m going back to my mixtape days and come out with my motherfu**in DJ because there is one thing that they can’t do and that’s be the Motherfuc**in Queen of Hip-hop!” Keeping it all the way Hip-hop performing “Lookin ass Ni**a her verse on Young Thug’s “Danny Glover” remix, “Chi Ra” “Did It On ‘Em,” “Beez in the Trap,” “Dance (A$$), “Love More,” and Boss Ass Bi**h She also brought out Soulja Boy to perform “Yass Bish”. She also performed her more popular hits “Superbass” “Starships” and “Moment 4 Life”

Kanye West Tells Fan His Yeezys Are Fake Before Autographing Them (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) If someone told you Kanye West was not a man of compromise, they lied to you. Earlier today (May 19th) West informed a fan of the authenticity of his Air Yeezy shoes while in France.

Kanye West’s collaborative sneak with Nike, Air Yeezy, were among the most sought after sneakers since the 1st pair was released in 2009. With great demand comes great imitations and people have went to detailed lengths to authenticate their pair of Air Yeezy. One lucky (based on how you define “luck”) was able to get his authentication from the man himself as West informed him his sneakers were not real before autographing the fake sneakers.

According to reported sources, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were denied permission to marry at the Palace of Versailles. United Kindom news publication Daily Mail reports that the reason for their denial was due to the couple not being “considered distinguished enough for an official ceremony and celebration.”

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are set to marry this Saturday (May 24th).

Funkmaster Flex May Not Do Another Season Of "This Is Hot 97"

(AllHipHop News) Funkmaster Flex was a star in reality before reality TV was even conceived, but that does not mean he is comfortable with the medium.

During a recent interview with Grantland, the verbose DJ spoke on his disinterest in returning for a second season of This Is Hot 97. Flex expresses his appreciation of what VH1 has done for the HOT 97 TV show, but is not interested in furthering his role:

What’s a good way for me to put it? I think VH1 put together a great, comfortable zone for us to do something cool. But I’ll be honest, it’s not something I plan on doing again.

When the Grantland writer informed him that it would probably be difficult for a Hot 97 TV show to continue without him, Flex succinctly answered with an “absolutely right”.

This is not the first time a member of This is Hot 97 has given their involvement in the show a deadline. During a recent interview on CulturedApproved’s Inside The Laugh, Ian Gelfand (Executive Producer) explained that  his involvement in the show will probably not pass two more seasons:

I love it and I will always love it and it’s one of my two favorite projects I have ever done in my entire life. It’s really funny at times. But, you know after you do it a couple of times..you know, I’ll do another season, maybe two and then you want to do the next thing.’

The season finale of This Is Hot 97 airs tonight on VH1. Check out the full article on This is Hot 97 from Grantland here.

NBA Sets Donald Sterling's Court Hearing For Two Days Before NBA Finals

(AllHipHop News)  The Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling and his weeks of questionable comments have altered the attention placed on the NBA playoffs and that will continue. According to sources, the NBA has formally “initiated a charge” against Donald Sterling to get him to give up ownership of the Clippers.

According to the NBA’s official statement, Sterling violated the NBA’s constitution by engaging in “conduct that has damaged and continues to damage the NBA and its teams.” While NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced the NBA’s interest in pursuing legal action against Donald Sterling prior to Sterling’s interview with Anderson Cooper 360 last Sunday (May 11th), the NBA’s statement intimates that the interview will be included:

Mr. Sterling disparaged African-Americans and “minorities”; directed a female acquaintance not to associate publicly with African-Americans or to bring African-Americans to Clippers games; and criticized African-Americans for not supporting their communities.

Sterling has until May 27th to respond to the NBA’s charge and is able to attend “a special meeting of the Board of Governors.” The NBA will need the vast majority of the owners at the Board of Govenors’ meeting to vote against Sterling:

The NBA Finals are set to start on June 5th. Check out the NBA’s full statement here.

Meek Mill: I Told Kendrick Lamar I Wanted To Murder Him Before His "Control" Verse (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) We might have uncovered the origins of Kendrick Lamar’s inclusion of Meek Mill’s name in his infamous “Control” verse. During his interview on Hot 97’s The Morning Show, Meek spoke on his early threats towards Kendrick Lamar from 2011.

Around the unveiling of the XXL’s 2011 edition of their Freshman Class, Meek Mill and Kendrick Lamar were on the cusp of blowing up with their respective breakout mixtapes (Dreamchasers and Section.80) months away from release. While both had very little success at the time, Meek reveals that prior Kendrick saying he wanted to murder Meek (and other rappers) on his “Control” verse, Meek was the one being honest about his intentions of a rap takeover:

What Kendrick said on that record–‘I came to murder all y’all’–I forgot, when we did the Freshman class with Kendrick, YG and them. Everybody had to say something, when they asked me I said ‘for real, I came to murder all y’all. I ain’t even gon lie, man. I ain’t gonna fake it. I want all y’all spots. So, I understand when he was coming from.

Meek explains that he has an upcoming documentary which will reveal documents of constant attempts by District Attorney Noel Ann DeSantis at revoking his  probation. According to Meek, he imparts wisdom on the youth of Philadelphia:

My biggest thing with these young kids is, ‘do you want to be a king or goon?’ Goons go to jail, they get a 100 years in jail, they get killed early. I be telling people now,  young boys in my hood, ‘you a triple O G when you take care of your mom, your grand mom, your sister, your aunt. It’s easy to kill somebody. It ain’t easy to move your momma out the ‘hood. Start from nothing.

Uncle Reece Chooses to Be BOLD

Lyricist Uncle Reece chooses to stand out with his debut album entitled BOLD. The inspirational lyricist is putting the universal language of music to the test! Uncle Reece has been referred to as the next big thing in inspirational music by his musical peers and music executives. He doesn’t just fit into one music genre, in fact his style is in line with Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop with hints of Reggae as well. Uncle Reece is quite the musical melting pot. With BOLD ,Uncle Reece is not confined to the church, and there are no limits or boundaries to the way he can express his praise. Other than his style, Uncle Reece is also unique because of his choice to venture into inspirational and praise music coming from an inner city background where it was hard to hear God’s message. Now that he chose his own musical lane, he can preach the good word of music to the masses. The release of BOLD will serve as a trailblazing album for the new generation. The effort is victorious! Uncle Reece will also be performing on the 2014 McDonald’s Inspirational Celebration Tour. The tour will hit 11 cities including Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to name a few. Chris Tucker Explains Jay Z and Solange's Elevator Fight (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) There are certain inevitabilities of life that must be accepted, and Solange’s fight with Jay Z in the Standard Hotel elevator being the subject of comical ridicule is one of those inevitabilities. Earlier this week, Chris Tucker spoke on the incident in a recent stand-up gig.

According to Tucker, that the only difference between Jay Z and Solange’s fight and that of the average “Black family” is that “they got caught on tape.” However, that does not stop the Rush Hour actor for jokingly criticizing Beyoncé for her reaction to her sister’s assault of her husband:

Beyoncé did’t do nothing. Everybody got a crazy person in the family. ‘Let her calm down. Let her calm down. She’ll calm down in a minute. I hope she ain’t got that gun on her, g#######. We all gonna get shot up in this elevator.

EXCLUSIVE: KeKe's Perspective: H-Town -vs- ATL

Submerged in rhyme since the early ’90’s, Lil KeKe’s soul is intertwined within his sixteens. An original member of the Screwed Up Clique, Da Don, challenges his freestyle roots to yield mixtape and album success.

Shirking the mainstream chattel system the platinum-earning artist loyally upholds his independent journey. As Swishahouse’s flagship artist, Lil KeKe, does not disappoint on the mic. His latest effort, Money Don’t Sleep, drops May 27.

Posing the question:

Houston is home to lyrical beasts. There’s Scarface, K-Rhino, Bun B, Chamillionaire, Devin The Dude, Z-Ro, Killa Kyleon, Doughbeezy and more. J Prince is even credited with discovering Drake. Does it hold as much credibility as Atlanta as being the nucleus of Southern Hip-Hop?

The Roots Perform Their "First Opera" For New Album Release Event (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Today (May 19th), The Roots, released their 11th studio album …& Then You Shoot Your Cousin, but last week they manifested the conceptual album at New York City’s Public Theater.

The Roots put on what Questlove describes as “The Roots’ first opera” in promotion of their new album.  Speaking with Okayplayer, Questlove explains why the critically acclaimed group does not make music for the “post-internet music fans” model of music consumption:

‘Post-internet’ music fans have to rush to judgment before really absorbing it. You have to dig deep. Most people are kind of expecting a big, quick payoff. Not say ours is  high art, but we prepare it like we’re at Eleven Madison [Park Restaurant]. Like we’re three Michelin star chefs and it’s an 18 course meal that we’re serving you.

The Roots’ …& Then You Shoot Your Cousin is currently the group’s first #1 album on iTunes. Check out “The Roots’ first opera” below:
