Buckshot Challenges Lord Jamar’s Claim That Hip Hop Is A Black Art Form

(AllHipHop News) The topic of race in Hip Hop has been an ongoing discussion since the start of the culture. In recent months, the success of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis has brought the issue back to the forefront, and one of the main individuals that has consistently criticized white rappers in Hip Hop is Lord Jamar.

Jamar sparked controversy last year when he made the statement that whites were “guests” in Hip Hop. The statement started a heated back-and-forth between the Brand Nubian rapper and Yelawolf. Another emcee has now provided his take on the matter.

In an interview with VladTV, Duck Down’s Buckshot challenges Jamar’s notion that Hip Hop was originally a black art form. As Vlad was asking the question, Buck interrupted to dispute the idea.

“How? How when we had Ad-Rock, a part of the Beastie Boys, in the movie Krush Groove, a part of the beginning of Hip Hop, who introduced LL Cool J to Russell Simmons?” asks Buckshot. “How was it originally a Black thing? Stop it.”

Buckshot then turns his attention to address Black people in general and states how all people, no matter their race, are simply human beings.

“I love you black people. I love you, but let me tell you something. My name is Hanif Alwin al-Sadiq. That’s my Muslim name. Yes, I speak Arabic,” adds Buck. “If you wanna challenge me, I’m the worst motherf**ker in your life, period. Ever.”

“The day you could bust a n***a chest open and pull out his heart, and I could see a black heart and a white heart, and know how those s**ts operate, you good. Cause until then all I see is two f**king organs that pump blood,” continues the Boot Camp Clik member. “You could sit there and tell me, ‘Yeah, but the white man was the one who did this, and the white man did that.’ The white man is gonna say, ‘The black man did this and the black man did that.’ You know what I’m saying? We can keep going on and on and on.”

50 Cent Responds To Tony Yayo’s Statements

(AllHipHop News) When Tony Yayo used his Instagram profile recently to let the world know that he was done with music and insinuated that 50 Cent was no longer loyal to him, it became clear that the original G-Unit was officially over.

50 has now addressed Yayo’s statements in an interview with Billboard at SXSW. In the article, the Queens rapper states that the situation “doesn’t affect” his life, and he reveals that he has not spoken to any former or current members of G-Unit.

50 Cent on Tony Yayo’s comments:

I had a wonderful journey with the people I grew up with. I think the frustration comes from shock, probably, that it’s not everything they wanted it to be.

It’s not a secret, it’s a known fact that he actually came home from jail with a million dollars and a Bentley. Like, ‘What do you want?

These guys are millionaires. They’ve made millions of dollars. Why do that then? Whenever there’s no one to blame, you know what game you play, [for] a look. I don’t know what the goal was.

I don’t believe in looking back. I can care less about things that’s happened in the past. I’m looking forward, at prosperity.

I’ve learned: The same person that tells you you’re a piece of s**t tells you they love you when the right song comes out. ‘My man, 50 back.’ So you can’t be affected by ‘I hate you’ because it won’t allow for something good to come in.

Wayne reiterated his retirement plans once again during an interview with MTV News. The New Orleans native added that the only way he would be willingly to record another solo album after C5 is if he is paid on the level of Kobe Bryant’s salary.

“25 to 35 million would get me to do another solo album after this,” said Wayne. “I didn’t smile when I said it.”

The “A Milli” rapper is willingly to contribute to future collaborative projects like Young Money’s Rise of An Empire released this week, but he made it clear the next installment in Tha Carter series will absolutely be the last.

“I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it’s definitely the final Carter album. It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five,” added Wayne. “The reason being is because the way I’m working on this album, to me, it seems like it will be impossible for me to work this hard again for anything else.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is The Doe B Album Still Coming Out?

UPDATE #2:

DJ Frank White weighed in on the rumor and here is what he had to say:

Well that’s actually GOOD NEWS!

In the meantime, listen to “Betta Kno It,” the latest from Doe B.

UPDATE: I’ve been informed that T.I. is DEFINITELY looking to make that Doe B album happen. This is good news to hear for Doe’s fans, family and loved ones.

ti doe b 500x333
At the end of 2013, Doe B was tragically slain in an act so reprehensible, people wanted to kill the killers. They turned themselves in quick to avoid the streets. But, Doe B’s fans know that he’s got quite a lot of music in the vaults, but what is to become of it. Quickly after Doe died, I was told that T.I. and others were feverishly looking to get a project out fast to capitalize off the boy’s heat. But, month’s later, that heat has turned down, because of legal wrangling. Different parties that were around Doe had different ideas on how to get the guys music out. I also heard some of it was money related. I am hearing its possible the Doe B album may never come out, in part, due to the delays. Doe was definitely going to be a big star on a major label. It may not happen now. Hopefully, they find some way to get the project out and give it some life.

You may have saw on other sites that Nicki went on “vacation” in Mexico to celebrate 10 years with Safaree aka Scaff Breezy – her long running boyfriend. But, the word is that was the trip where he proposed to her. Its clear that this is the real deal and has been for quite some time. There have even been haters of the couple that has recently released images of their various relationship outside of each other. But we aren’t playing that game. Not now. The word is they got engaged simple and plain. Wonder when the marriage will be and if it will be a VH1 special?

While revealing he is ready to perform he also divulges a new way in which he may develop his set list for shows:

Before I even went [to jail] I could do 20, 30 songs easy on the stage. So now, with this new catalogue I might do some mixing up. I might be calling the radio station before I go to that city. ‘What y’all want to hear?’ Because I have to give the fans what they want.

Mona Scott Young Sued For $50 Million For Love & Hip-Hop

Mona Scott Young is reportedly being sided for copyright infringement for stealing the idea that would eventually lead to “Love & Hip-Hop.”

Apparently, 8th Wonder Entertainment, Nicki Lum-Davis, Trisha Lum have taken exception to Scott’s franchise and have taken their grievances to court. They charge fraud, breach of contract and breach of confidence. They say that developed a show called “Hip-Hop Wives,” which included Tashera Simmons (DMX’s ex-wife), Chrissy Lampkin (Jim Jones’ fiance), Mashonda Tifere (ex-wife of Swizz Beatz), and Debbie Lorenzo, Irv Gotti’s ex-wife.

The plaintiffs charge they pitched the show to VH1. After the idea was rejected, the concept was retooled and packaged as “Love & Hip-Hip.”

The suit was filed on March 10.

Neither VH1 nor Scott-Young has commented on the legal move at press time.
