Hip-Hop Rumors: Tyra Banks Planning a Kardashian Style Makeover?
Word on the internet curb is that Tyra Banks hates the idea of becoming irrelevant, so she feels it’s time to make a come back, and she’s taking her cues from Kim Kardashian.
A source close to Radar Online says that America’s Next Top Model is doing well and will return to TV for a 21st season, but that’s not enough for Tyra.
“She’s plotting a big overhaul and plans to make Kim Kardashian types of appearances in jaw-dropping outfits and made up to the nines. Tyra is also considering doing a new reality show centered around her own life,” the source told Radar.
Tyra initially never wanted to do a personal reality show but now she’s strongly considering the possibility. Deals aren’t done just yet but she is putting a lot of energy into the thought process.

Drake will be the first rapper to ever be both the musical guest as well as the host when he appears on the first Saturday Night Live episode of 2014 this Saturday (January 18th).

Eyewitness: Kanye West Hit Man Who Insulted Kim Kardashian Over 30 Times
(AllHipHop News) More details are emerging about the alleged confrontation between Kanye West and an 18-year-old man in Beverly Hills earlier this week. Now an eyewitness is saying that Kanye hit the man accused of calling his fiancé, Kim Kardashian, a “n**a lover” over 30 times.
According to TMZ, sources say Ye walked into the chiropractor’s office where the man was located and began striking him repeatedly without saying a word. Apparently, the massage therapist in the facility pulled Kanye off the man before he and Kim left the scene.
Kanye is being investigated by police for assault as a result of the incident. Kardashian plans to file charges against the man for criminal threats. She claims he yelled, “I will kill you s###” at her before the alleged violent encounter took place.

R.A. The Rugged Man Says Rappers Purposely Promote Illuminati Imagery
(AllHipHop News) Rumors of rappers being associated with some shadowy organization known as Illuminati has been debated in Hip Hop forums, YouTube comment sections, and barbershops for years. According to R.A. The Rugged Man, rap stars are not actually members of the secret society, but they perpetuate the idea of being in the alleged New World Order group to heighten their image.

“All these rappers are f**king wannabes. It’s the same way with rappers were, ‘Oh, I’m John Gotti and I’m mafia…’ They are promoting the Illuminati imagery,” R.A. tells VladTV. “Are they a part of the big world power? No, they’re not. They’re nothing. They’re just rappers rapping, and they try to pretend like they’re part of something bigger than they really are.”
The prospect that joining a sect of “illuminated” individuals will bring about wealth and fame has had an influence on some unstable people’s actions. In March of last year, an aspiring Virginia rapper allegedly attempted to kill his friend as a blood sacrifice to the Illuminati. He was later sentenced to eight years in prison.

Beyond emcee’s obsession with secret society imagery, R.A. also discussed the media’s obsession with an rapper’s fashion which he says leads to poor quality music getting elevated as great art.
“What [the media does] is they see that fashion statement coming and they go, ‘That’s the hot album,’ because they hear a lot about a certain artist,” says the creator of 2013’s Legends Never Die. “So their album is a fashion statement. Meanwhile, that album’s gonna be trash in a year, six months.”

Atlanta’s DJ Nando Killed Outside His Home
(AllHipHop News) Popular Atlanta DJ William “Fernando” Barnes, aka DJ Nando, was shot and killed early Tuesday morning. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the 38-year-old father was gunned down outside his home in Clayton County.

“Basically, he drove home, pulled in his driveway, someone had been sitting waiting at his house in the backyard and they ran up and shot him once in the head,” said his brother-in-law Richard Hannah.
Police have not provided a motive for Nando’s murder as of yet. Family members do not believe it was a robbery attempt because electronic equipment and cash were left at the scene.
Several members of the Atlanta Hip Hop community issued condolences via social media.

Marvin Gaye Family Settles “Blurred Lines” Lawsuit With Sony/ATV
(AllHipHop News) One portion of the legal saga between Marvin Gaye’s family and parties involved with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” has come to end. The Gayes have agreed to a settlement with music publishing company Sony/ATV according to Billboard.

Sony/ATV was brought into the dueling lawsuits between the Gaye family and Thicke over the similarities between “Blurred Lines” and Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.” The Gayes accused Sony/ATV (which publishes music for both Thicke and Gaye) of not being impartial in the legal fight between the two. It was even alleged that the publishing company purposely planted a false story in the media that the family refused a six-figure offer from Thicke to make them appear “unreasonable.”
The terms of the Sony/ATV and Gaye settlement were not made public. The lawsuits between the Gaye family and Robin Thicke are still moving forward.
