EXCLUSIVE: Katt Williams Returns with “Scary Movie 5”; Says, “I Want My Crown Back!”

(AllHipHop News) Today (April 4) famed comedian, Katt Williams, spoke with AllHipHop.com in what was a uniquely candid interview scheduled as part of Katt’s media rounds for this Summer’s highly publicized movie, Scary Movie 5.

Among other things Katt spoke about his return to comedy this Summer, his recent string of incidents that brought about a media frenzy, his friendship with controversial Hip-Hop mogul Suge Knight and the return of Dipset.

While its been a while since Katt hit the big screen, Katt said he enjoyed the time to shine in Scary Movie 5 and said that being a part of the film was a “no brainer.”

“It’s my first foray back onto the big screen,” Katt Williams said in an exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com. “You know a lot of times when you get one of these offers coming across the table it’s like you have to work your magic and make something out of nothing and this is actually one of those circumstances where it’s already $800 million in.  You know, it’s a true juggernaut and all of the people involved I respected. They sent me the list of people that they already had, so it was a no brainer and it was an opportunity for me to come in a shine a little.”

While Katt said he’s been taking a bit of a hiatus from the stand up comedy world, Katt says he will be back this Summer.

“Yea I’ve been not doing any actual live performances because I got fake promoters out there so I was letting them finish spinning their wheels out there, but this is definitely the ‘Summer of Katt Williams,’ I can promise that. They have talked him up again, yet again!” Katt said laughing.

In addition Katt weighed in on his name being brought up in the recent Twitter bout between fellow comedians Mike Epps and Kevin Hart.

“Well you know, first of all we have to understand that these are not two gentleman who are against one another, these are two friends, two guys inside the same peer group.  So you know it happened on a public forum but really it was a personal conversation with them, so it doesn’t – I don’t have a problem with Kevin Hart, I never have, simply because I am a fan of comedy and judge a person by what they bring comedically. He said I ‘flipped out,’ is what he said so I kind of take issue with just the notion that that’s going on.  But when people don’t have all of the circumstances, they aren’t able to rationally see whats going on and its presented however its presented.”

While Katt said he has no problem with Kevin Hart, he let the world know he is making a comeback proclaiming, “I want my crown back!”

“If I am the king, then my crown is not supposed to be able to be worn by anybody else.  So now, that doesn’t mean that they not gonna try and put it on somebody’s head and walk him around and tell you that he is the king.  But, the crown won’t match and the crown is gonna be too heavy for baby boy.  So now all I say is, I want my crown back! The comedy Lord giveth and he taketh away,” Katt Williams said laughing.

“They gonna give the belt to whoever is standing there with their hand up, you know what I mean?  The Hip-Hop fans are smart enough to know that everything that they do, there is an agenda behind what they are doing, they’re really trying to sell something so it’s a joy for me to get back to just selling funny.”

In parting Katt apologized to fans and regretted that they were subject to his highly publicized trials and tribulations.

“Yea I been going through it, as a fan I’m sorry that my fans have actually had to go through it all, but sometimes when you call the hatred down on yourself sometimes it does rain kind of hard. The important part is that they know I am completely aware of the comedy situation and it’s landscape and I am coming to rectify it.”

Notorious B.I.G.’s Childhood Home For Sale

(AllHipHop News) The Brooklyn apartment that reared Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G., is up for sale.

The home offers three bedrooms and one bathroom for a listing price of $725,000, up more than $300k when it was sold in 2004.
The Clinton Hill apartment has been lived in by an elderly couple, but is a regular feature for tourists.

The rapper lived there in his formative years, before he was even named Biggie Smalls.

The listing agent didn’t think that the Hip-Hop history aspect of the home would affect the purchase.

“The tour buses that come by regularly are enough,” she told New York magazine. “I don’t really know yet what impact, if any, [Biggie’s past] will have on the sale. I think it’ll be notable, but I don’t know if novelty translates to a purchase.”

She maintained that “very lovable people lived there now.”

Hip-Hop Rumors Exclusive: Who Stole Ace Hood’s Style?

A few days ago, I saw a post where Ace Hood was talking about rappers that were stealing his style. In the interview Ace didn’t say names, but it sparked my interest. Now, I’m not going to say, but I’m interested in what you think and who you think he’s talking about. Based on the comments, tweets (@illseed) emails I get, I’m going to create a poll and then we vote on it. Hit me at ki*********@***il.com.

Rick Ross Apologizes for Rape Lyric Again, Releases “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” (Remix) Video

(AllHipHop News) After claiming his lyrics were “misunderstood” on a New Orleans radio show Q93.3, Maybach Music Group boss Rick Rosss took to his personal twitter account to reiterate those statements:

He also made a point apologize to his sponsors “who would never promote violence against women” and named Reebok as well as activist group Ultraviolet. Ultraviolet has publicly urged for his removal as Reebok spokesman on their official website. Curiously, Ross does not mention his Ciroc sponsorship in the personal tweet apologizing.

Hours after his apology, the Teflon Don released his latest video for his remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe”. The video title omits the word “b*tch” although the term appears on the Maybach Music Group Soundcloud link of the song.

Hip-Hop Rumors Exclusive: French Montana Cheating On Trina With Who?

OK. Hoping this isn’t another one of my failed rumors from earlier in the week. But, this ain’t even mine. But, Media Take Out is reporting that French Montana has aborted fidelity with the homey Trina for the lovely Teyana Taylor. See, these online spies be following instagram and stuff and piecing the story together.

That’s what they did. They compared pics that Teyana posted hours before and then later French posted similar pics.

Anyway, I think this music game is one big f**k fest anyway.

There is another rumor I know based on these pics, but I cannot say. It would be too close to a source. French would be p#####.

Breeding Ground Spotlight: Say Hello to the Nice Guy; Charlie Hustle

Death, incarceration, and redemption the soundtrack of New York emcee Charlie Hustle’s life. Rocking stages with Wu-Tang Clan to Big Pun by the age of thirteen to securing record deals Charlie Hustle was next to blow. Just when things were about to propel, life got in the way bringing it all to a halt. Now he’s back and his focus is razor-sharp. Say hello to the nice guy, Charlie Hustle.

AllHipHop.com:  Since you were younger, you’ve been performing around hip-hop greats. Do you feel like starting off so young helped you get to the situation you’re in today?

Charlie Hustle:  I would say starting off younger makes me well-rounded. Being that young and involved in hip hop already it’s a good thing. When I was younger I actually had deals but I had situations that I had to deal with in my life. It put my life on hold. I grew up on a lot of different hip hop so I think I’m a lot different from other artists and I have more experience. I would say it’s a good thing.

AllHipHop.com: I know you’re from New York how do you feel like it’s affected you as an artist and as a man?

Charlie Hustle: New York influenced me a lot with rap, because I remember growing up you had to be so nice and everybody was so hard on each other. I would say it made me a really good artist. My life experiences in New York, a lot of it’s in my music. Being from New York I remember growing up like you just gotta have some crazy skills, so that also helped me to be a real good artist with a combination of everything I been through.

AllHipHop.com:  Do you feel like your incarceration had any positive effects on the person you are today?

Charlie Hustle: Definitely, I got my GED in there, went to college, I learned how to deal with my aggression. I learned to deal with things in a different way. Being in that situation made me appreciate myself and life more, and think about my whole life in a positive way rather than a negative way. While I was there I was trying to figure out how to turn my life into something positive. It affected my rap skills because I was in Louisiana for 2 years, before the south was really big I was already involved in ciphers and rapping with people from the south. I knew they were really talented and I liked their music a lot. I’m pretty much influenced by all types of music. When you grow up and you find your mother dead from an OD she dies in front of you, and your grandmother a year later, you start to look at things a little different. Even though prison sucks it made me a better person.  I’m here I want to make something out of myself.

AllHipHop.com: Let’s talk about your mix-tape Say Hello to the Nice Guy, who’s featured on it?

Charlie Hustle:  It’s doing really good, it got me in rotation; bringing me attention and hopefully it will land me a deal soon. I have 3 features with Rick Ross, two features with French Montana. It’s spreading out all the way to NC and NY.  I’m an independent artist so; Waleed Coyote hooked up with me. I got this record featuring French Montana and Rick Ross called Ballin’ and the record is up to like 200 spins per week on its own organically.

AllHipHop.com: What’s your definition of a good artist?

Charlie Hustle: A little bit of everything. Lyrical ability, crazy flow, know how to switch it up, melodies, a lot of hooks, a combination of those three things. Energy, emotion, a lot of other rappers lack that. My style is me, it’s my life and what I been through. I’ve been through a lot of things. It depends on what kind of mood I’m in and the way I’m attacking it style. I couldn’t really compare myself to anyone.  I’m in my own lane I’m not a typical rapper.

On the road to redemption Charlie Hustle faced adversity; he’s got a positive outlook on life and genuinely cares about what’s going on.  Now he’s ready to reclaim his spot in the hip hop game. Check out his latest mixtape with Evil Empire on datpiff.com
