Love & Hip-Hop’s Tahiry Dazzles At “Devil” Single Release Party in NYC

(AllHipHop News) Tahiry Jose’s hustler spirit has taken her across primetime television, amateur YouTube videos, strip clubs, music videos, magazine cover shoots and charity events. The release party for her first ever single, “Devil” showcased her diverse appeal in its layout and attendants.

The single release party for the Love & Hip Hop New York vixen was held at New York City’s W.I.P. Low lights, overflowing drinks and a digitally imposed stone face

Cocktail waitresses decked in tight firey red dresses made sure patrons’ drinks were never empty and the party-goers got antsy relatively quickly with some taking entertainment into their own hands as they waited. Yes, there was that lone middle age woman grinding on the air. While attendants awaited Tahiry’s arrival they were greeted with a sneak peak into the remix of “Devil” featuring D-Block’s Styles P and Uncle Murda which will be released soon. Only Styles P’s verse was played and the decade-plus veteran waxed Jose’s bitter love tale with tough love lyrics that only a Gangster & A Gentleman can deliver.

The party started at 7pm and was scheduled to end at 11pm, however the woman of the hour did not arrive until well after 9pm. A few party-goers grew restless and left before she arrived. Joe Budden arrived with Tahiry but stayed long enough to give a few handshakes in the VIP section and pose with his vivacious ex.

Never one to disappoint in the appearance department, Tahiry kept it simple chic with a lace see-through top, long black skirt with splits in the front to showcase her golden tone thighs.

The cast of MTV’s Washington Heights show, legendary battle rapper Murda Mook, Uncle Murda, R&B singer Baiyu and even Love & Hip Hop co-star Rich Dollaz were all in attendance. Notable absences from the event were Tahiry’s Love & Hip Hop besties Winter Ramos and Rashida Jones along with the other Love & Hip Hop New York cast members.

Daily Word: NEVER Compromise!!

Happy Wins-Day my confident and assured! Welcome to the very best day of your life! The day you vow to NEVER except less than you deserve! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to compromise! If you watched The State of the Union address last night you will notice a different tone by President Obama. During his speech he said “Forget about shutting down the government to force spending cuts, Don’t think about defaulting on the debt, and, while you’re at it, close tax loopholes”. From his tone, you can tell that he was definitely not in the mood to compromise! He has a vision on how he wants the country to run and despite the many opposition he faces, he is willing to fight for that vision. Obviously we do not live in a dictatorship so sometimes compromise is the only choice but when it comes to YOUR vision, you are the judge and jury! NEVER Compromise! Always stand firm in what you believe and in what you want out of life! Many people are going to give you the illusion as if they know better or try to convince you to go in a different direction… This is YOUR life to live and YOU know what YOU need in order to be happy! NEVER waiver from what you know in your heart is true! It is your divine right to be happy! Seek it by any means necessary!

-Ash’Cash

“Compromise is but the sacrifice of one right or good in the hope of retaining another–too often ending in the loss of both.”
-Tryon Edwards

“You cannot build a dream on a foundation of sand. To weather the test of storms, it must be cemented in the heart with uncompromising conviction.”
-T.F. Hodge

“Compromise is never anything but an ignoble truce between the duty of a man and the terror of a coward.”
-Unknown

“Compromise is a word found only in the vocabulary of those who have no will to fight.”
-St. Josemaría Escrivá

“Compromise means to go just a little bit below what you know is right. It’s just a little bit, but it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine.”
-Joyce Meyer

“Do not compromise yourself and put your goodness in the same impermanent category as whatever circumstance happening. Be the best you in every circumstance.”
-Steve Maraboli

“Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got.”
-Janis Joplin

“No compromise with the main purpose, no peace till victory, no pact with unrepentant wrong.”
-Winston Churchill

5 Takeaways From President Obama’s State of the Union Address

(AllHipHop News) President Barack Obama delivered the first State of the Union Address of his second term last night. The speech presented several policy agendas the President hopes will get signed into law this year. AllHipHop.com recaps the five points from the 2013 SOTU that have the greatest impact on the Hip-Hop community.

Economic Growth

What the President said:

“Our economy is adding jobs, but too many people still can’t find full-time employment. Corporate profits have skyrocketed to all-time highs, but for more than a decade, wages and incomes have barely budged. It is our generation’s task, then, to reignite the true engine of America’s economic growth: a rising, thriving middle class.”

What the President plans to do:

President Obama proposed several ideas that he believes will help grow the middle class. He mentioned a job creation plan, deficit reduction centering around entitlement reform & tax reform, a mortgage refinancing bill, repairing America’s infrastructure, and investing in research and development.

While most of those ideas were extensions of his 2012 campaign, the President did propose a new plan – raising the minimum wage. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour which many financial experts believe is far below an effective living wage. President Obama wants the federal minimum wage raised to $9 an hour.

Climate Change

What the President said:

“Heat waves, droughts, wildfires, floods, all are now more frequent and more intense. We can choose to believe that Superstorm Sandy, and the most severe drought in decades, and the worst wildfires some states have ever seen were all just a freak coincidence. Or we can choose to believe in the overwhelming judgment of science and act before it’s too late.”

What the President plans to do:

President Obama called on the Congress to create bipartisan legislation to combat climate change similar to the Lieberman-McCain Climate Stewardship Acts. The three failed bills from 2003, 2005, and 2007 would have given economic incentives for companies that put a cap on the amount of Global Warming causing pollutants they released.

The President did say that if Congress refuses to act he will direct his Cabinet to take action to reduce pollution and find ways to speed up the transition to sustainable energy sources like solar power and clean natural gas. President Obama also proposed creating an Energy Security Trust that would eventually get American vehicles off of oil permanently.

Education

What the President said:

“Now, to grow our middle class, our citizens have to have access to the education and training that today’s jobs require.”

What the President plans to do:

The President spent a large portion of the speech talking about the importance of education and how he plans to help citizens of all economic backgrounds have access to affordable, quality education. He began by focusing on early childhood education and asking the states to work with him to make preschool available to all Americans.

He mentioned that students should be able to graduate from high school with a technical or associate’s degree and that high schools need to partner with colleges and businesses to create classes that focus more on science, technology, engineering, and math.

The President also said that Congress needs to change the Higher Education Act to improve the implementation of federal aid, and that the federal government will begin releasing a “college scorecard” so parents and students can make better decisions about choosing the best higher education institution that they can afford.

Voting Reform

What the President said:

“We must all do our part to make sure our God-given rights are protected here at home. That includes one of the most fundamental rights of a democracy, the right to vote. When any American – no matter where they live or what their party – are denied that right because they can’t wait for five or six or seven hours just to cast their ballot, we are betraying our ideals.”

What the President plans to do:

After acknowledging 102-year-old Desiline Victor (a Florida voter who was one of the citizens that had to wait for hours to cast her vote) sitting in the vistors’ gallery, President Obama announced that he has selected lawyers from his own and Governor Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns to head a new nonpartisan commission to review and give suggestions on how to eliminate voting obstacles across the country.

Gun Control

What the President said:

“I know this is not the first time this country has debated how to reduce gun violence, but this time is different. Overwhelming majorities of Americans – Americans who believe in the Second Amendment – have come together around commonsense reform…Each of these proposals deserves a vote in Congress.

If you want to vote no, that’s your choice. But these proposals deserve a vote, because in the two months since Newtown, more than a thousand birthdays, graduations, anniversaries have been stolen from our lives by a bullet from a gun. More than a thousand. One of those we lost was a young girl named Hadiya Pendleton.”

What the President plans to do:

In what was clearly the most emotional section of the speech, President Obama called on members of Congress to vote on a series of gun control measures like universal background checks, limiting the ability to buy military grade rifles, and reducing the amount of ammunition in magazine clips.

The President believes these measures will help lessen the high number of violent gun crimes in this country like the death of the Chicago teenager Hadiya Pendleton, the Newtown school shooting, the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and the Aurora Theater massacre.

President Obama simply repeated, “they deserve a vote,” to rousing applause from the audience in the Capitol which included Pendleton’s parents and other family members of gun violence victims. #TheyDeserveAVote became a number 1 trending topic on Twitter during the State of the Union.

Freddie Gibbs Talks T.I.’s Gangsta, Rick Ross Shooting and Rift with Young Jeezy

(AllHipHop News) If you listen to just six bars of any Freddie Gibbs verse it becomes abundantly clear that he holds his tongue for no one and voiced his opinions recently on Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI’s “The Morning Riot” show.

[ALSO READ: Freddie Gibbs Speaks Out On Police Brutality]

The former Corporate Thugz Entertainment artist spoke on his former boss, Young Jeezy’s inability to help promote:

“I felt like I was wasting time pushing someone else’s brand when I could push my own and do my own thing. Because that’s was what he was concerned with, pushing Jeezy. So I gotta be concerned with pushing Gibbs.”]

Gangsta Gibbs also hints at financial improprieties on Jeezy’s part as an additional catalyst to his departure. “So since we not in the street,” the Baby Face Killa MC says  “you feel like you can play with my money on this Rap side and there ain’t gon’ be no repercussions?” Gibbs signed to the CTE label in 2011 after a string of critically acclaimed buzzworthy mixtapes such as 2009’s now-ironic The Labels Tryin’ To Kill Me  and 2010’s St8 Killa No Filla.

The Gary, Indiana native also took offense to T.I.’s recent comments in The Source about how gangsta rap is dying. Gibbs states he “totally disagrees” with T.I.’s statement and questions his true appreciation for the gangsta rap artform:

I think guys like him are supposed to be the staples of this gangsta rap. If you keep saying it’s dead, it’s dead, it’s dead, then you’re going to let it die. You grew up on it, so how you gonna say something’s dead when you grew up on it?

[ALSO READDid Freddie Gibbs Cost Officer His Job]

While Jeezy and T.I. get their share of Gibbs vitriol, but it’s the Maybach Music Group head honcho who gets the brunt of his tirade. When asked about Rick Ross’ recent shooting, Gibbs jokingly asked “did he got shot at” before explaining his backhanded concern for Rozay’s health after the shooting:

“I really don’t want to see none of these guys get murdered because I don’t want to see them jump to legend status. It seems like when you die, all of a sudden, ‘He’s the greatest of all time.’ … I don’t think a bullet should buy you that — I think a bullet has buying a lot of guys street credibility and I don’t think a bullet should buy you that.”

Gibbs’ discontent with Ross dates back to a 2010 interview with Complex where he accused the God Forgives, I Don’t MC of “bold face lying on records.”

The unsigned free agent is gearing up for a productive 2013. In addition to his long-awaited collaborative album with Madlib, Cocaine Pinata, he also plans on releasing a mixtape entitled Eastside Slim and an album tentatively titled Necktie Party.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z and Beyonce Buying Neverland?

I can’t believe I am writing this. Dissing me is acceptable on this one and I accept the scorn and chagrin and hatred I am sure you will muster. HATE ME!

There is a rumor, stemming from Media Take Out, that Jay-Z and Beyonce are considering buying Michael Jackson’s Neverland! It looks like they may be copping the property for $100 million if they are really making a move on the property. I’m not sure I believe that. But, they are saying that this may never happen, because the land may not even be for sale! The plot is 2,500 Acres of land about an hour outside of Los Angeles. They say Jay hopes to create a massive studio to record out of. The better find Bubbles and get him in there.

Jay was a fool for this one! MJ at Summer Jam!
