Court Releases Documents on Chief Keef $6 Million Record Deal

(AllHipHop News) A Cook County, Illinois chancery court released information that details Chief Keef’s record contract.

The agreements became public due to the fact that the controversial Chicago rapper is a minor (17-years-old) and thus, his contract needs a judge’s approval.

The three album deal is reportedly worth $6 million, but is incentivized throughout as it is based on record sales and other metrics.

According to DNAinfo.com, Chief Keef reportedly will be given a $440,000 advance, half of which Chief Keef’s legal guardian and Grandmother, Margaret Carter will administer in a trust fund.

In addition, the rapper received over $300,000 to record his project, Finally Rich, which sold 50,000 copies in its first week of sales.

The deal also states that if Keef doesn’t sell at least 250,000 records by December 2013, Interscope reserves the right to drop the subsequent album releases which include two albums and a compilation record.

Chief Keef’s “Glory Boyz Entertainment” also known as GBE, received another $440,000 advance that states that his manager, Rovan Manuel, will be paid at least 180,000.

It also states that 15% of Chief Keef’s advance money will be put in his aforementioned trust fund, although Interscope Records reserves the right to terminate the Glory Boyz deal if Interscope’s losses exceed $4.5 million.

According to the GBE deal, Chief Keef and Rovan Manuel each own 40 percent of the record label, which will be a subsidiary of Interscope.

Also, GBE’s Fredo Santana is to receive $40,000 in advance and received 10-percent interest in the GBE label, while Chief Keef’s uncle Alonzo Carter and Anthony H. Dade also holds 5-percent interest in the GBE’s imprint.

GBE also receives $200,000 for “overhead” expenses associated with offices, travel, entertainment, salary cost and additional money for marketing.

Currently, Chief Keef is in a juvenile detention center for 60 days after he violated his probation in a Pitchfork Media interview last year in New York at a gun range.

Chief Keef will see a judge again on March 14th at which point he may be released from custody.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Love And Hip-Hop’s Rich Dollaz Get Arrested Mid-Interview!

Man, these reality shows are killin’ it! The boy Rich Dollaz was fairly unknown to me, but now he’s not. He’s got more problems than Flavor Flav in a crack house. The dude just got arrested again for not showing up in court on some paternity stuff. But here is the catch, he was doing an interview. They didn’t even give the man enough respect to let him finish the damn interview before they arrested him.

In case you didn’t know, he is on Love & Hip-Hop and he manages Erica Mena. I don’t know, but he might want to handle this.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Rastafarians P##### At Snoop Dogg! Threaten Snoop Lion!

I KNEW this was going to happen! Basically, and honestly, nobody really was rocking with Snoop Lion. Keep it real. People rolled with it, but a LOT of people quietly looked at it as a way for Snoop to get some renewed press. Last year, he dumped the name Snoop Dog as somebody in Jamaica anointed him as SNOOP LION. Then he did a DVD, an album and conversion to the Rastafari religion. But did he? Here is what TMZ is reporting. Folks are threatening Snoop!

0123_buddy_wailer_snoop_dogg_snoop_lion_article_getty_2

Snoop Lion, nee Snoop Dogg, has done the seemingly impossible — p##### off a bunch of ganja smoking Rastafarians — who claim he lied about becoming a Rasta just to make a movie and sell records … and now they’re threatening to sue.
Bunny Wailer — an original member of Bob Marley and the Wailers — tells TMZ he’s heated about the docu-film “Reincarnated” … which documented Snoop’s immersion in the Rasta culture as he recorded his first reggae album in Jamaica last year.

Wailer claims Snoop has engaged in “outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism” — and has failed to meet “contractual, moral and verbal commitments.”

And it’s not just Bunny who feels burned — leaders of something called the Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council (aka Rastafari Millennium Council) — fired of a 7-page demand letter to Snoop.

In the docs they claim to have made it clear to Snoop that “smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indigenous Culture!”

Bottom line … they want Snoop to stop using the name “Lion” … pay up the “financial and moral support” they claim he committed, and issue a public apology.

If Snoop refuses — FIRE WILL BUN FI HIM!! Or in layman’s terms … they’re gonna sue his ass. We called Snoop for comment, and so far no word back.

And now, something to help everyone chill …
