Singer August Alsina has been steady at work since the last time we spoke to him, and now he’s at it again with the remix to “Bandz”, an acoustic version of Juicy J’s #1 song.
Alsina is one of Def Jam’s latest signees, and he’s currently prepping his new mixtape and debut album. “Bandz” is directed by Artemus Jenkins.

I’ve been going back and forth with myself trying to decide if this rap coloring book is an epic win or an epic fail. If you haven’t heard about it yet, legendary UGK rapper, Bun B, has collaborated with Hip-Hop writer, Shea Serrano, to create a tumblr account called, Bun B’s Jumbo Coloring and Rap Activity Tumblr. The site holds a a treasure of black and white images of rappers that can be printed out and colored in by you or that underage Hip-Hop fanatic in your family.
From being able to color in Nicki Minaj’s outrageous attire or Wale’s dreads – this coloring book is hilarious. There are more sinister photos to color in as well, such as Drake’s eyebrows or covering Game’s butterfly tattoo with something more ‘hood. You can get your rap fix and coloring fix all in one. Some of the photos are hilarious.

Brooklyn-bred rapper Maino has definitely helped bring New York rap forward with his raw, emotional, and at many times, inspiring brand of music. Since bouncing onto the scene in 2008, the rapper has been a mainstay on the Hip-Hop charts with songs like the platinum-selling “All the Above”, “Million Bucks” featuring Swizz Beatz, and one of his latest, “That Could Be Us”.
But, for his legion of fans – one song stands out among the rest.
One of the first songs that Maino released that really stuck was the catchy club anthem, “Hi Hater”. Upon its release in 2008, “Hi Hater” was inescapable. From the music video being on heavy rotation on the BET and MTV, to the song constantly playing on the radio, to the culture that the song created – “Hi Hater” was everywhere.
“It’s like the gift and the curse. With something like that that just taps into the culture with the shirts and everything, it was like this whole fad that I started,” said Maino.
Maino has been able to escape the “one hit wonder” label and has used the song to help further his rap career, but for the rapper – “Hi Hater” has been a career blessing and a burden.
“What urks me a little bit is the fact that people think that’s my biggest song, and it’s not,” explained Maino. “It’s not my biggest song, and it’s like, damn, is that the only one you know?
“The curse part of it, is the fact that people put you in a box [and say], ‘Oh, Maino’s wack, he made “Hi Hater”; he gotta be wack’, because it was so dumbed down.’ It was so dumbed down that I feel like people feel like I don’t get busy.”

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop veteran Prodigy continues a longstanding partnership with Supra, by designing a limited edition sneaker for the company.
Prodigy’s new sneakers for Supra are dubbed “Infamous x Supra Bandit” comes in camouflage ballistic nylon, with a masked tongue that features a masked man in a hoodie.
The sneaker is part of Prodigy’s deal with Supra, which will also include his own customized line of boots.
According to representatives for Prodigy, the sneakers will go on sale, but in a limited edition run.

Chris Brown has had a no-interview policy for a while now, but it looks like Breezy is falling back on his rule and accepting interviews. The talented singer recently did a radio interview with “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” in L.A. and finally addressed the opportunity to fight Drake for charity. Even though Breezy said he couldn’t talk about it, he still implied that if he could, he would most certainly knock Drake the hell out. Check out what he said below:
“The only reason I can’t talk about it is because we’re dealing with legal stuff. You know I’m trying to get paid and not trying to give out no information,” Brown said in an interview referring to the Drake incident. “We don’t talk about other guys. We just focus on the music. [Was it more of us hitting one another?] Nah. It’s none of that. I’m more reserved and I box, so it would have been none of that. You know exactly what that means. [laughs]”
It’s pretty interesting that Chris Brown said that he’s “trying to get paid” – does that mean that Breezy is suing Drake over the club brawl? It sure sounds that way to me. I guess instead of giving Drake physical pain, Breezy is trying to hurt his pockets.
Sidenote – Breezy also spoke about going to the Barclay’s Center with Rihanna to see the Jay-Z concert. Rumors were swirling that Jay-Z had a stern talking to Breezy and threatened to end his career….

According to Chris Brown, although he did talk to Jay-Z in the green room at Barclay’s, Jay never threatened him.
“No. No. No. Me and him had…It just was a lot of people,” says Brown. “It’s like a green room, backstage, you come and say what up to everybody and it was cordial…It was real respectful. It was nothing like that.”

Common is allegedly in hot water with his former flame, Serena Williams, because of his new girlfriend and her Twitter-stalking ways. Chris Brown and Rihanna have denied that they are dating again. At least, CB wants people to just mind their business. Nevertheless, the two of them continue to dominate headlines and general f**kery. This time, it seems that Rihanna has stolen a song from Chris Brown. A DJ that produced the song, explained:
“I have a record, maybe. She wanted a song I produced. It’s a song I originally recorded with Chris Brown called ‘As Your Friend,’ but I am not supposed to say anything about it just yet because the papers aren’t signed. But the music is there, and it’s a really dope song.

Dag. I forgot all about that. Anyway, it looks like Kanye will have to buy back his own sex tape to keep it from hitting stores. According to Perez Hilton, the company even owns the copyright on the tape. How can that be? I mean, if I want to do a movie or documentary about Kanye, I need his permission, don’t I? These people find or steal a sex tape and there is a buy back? Here is what Perez is reporting.
“Kanye’s camp has been negotiating for the sex tape so he can buy back the copyright and it’s never released. The problem is that adult entertainment companies are offering huge amounts of money for rights to the tape, so Kanye and his team are working overdrive trying to work something out.”
